Chapter 96 He Didn't Touch Her, so How Did She Get Pregnant?
In less than half an hour, Kalista secretly left the guest room.
Mortimer had someone escort her out.
After she left, Alaric took a USB drive to give to Mortimer.
Alaric informed, "It's all recorded."
Mortimer took the USB drive and said, "All right, clean up the aftermath and make sure no one finds out."
"Yes, I'll take care of it right away," Alaric respectfully replied.
After Alaric left, Mortimer took the USB drive back to his room and locked it in the safe.
He wouldn't use it unless it was an emergency.
One week later.
Kalista went to the hospital for another check-up.
"Congratulations, you're pregnant," the doctor looked at the blood test report and smiled, "But you're only one week pregnant, so you need to be careful, as it could affect the baby's development."
Kalista was thrilled.
Great, she was pregnant.
She could use the pregnancy to get Isaac to marry her!
Excited, Kalista left the hospital.
Then, she contacted Mortimer and shared the news with him.
With Mortimer's help, she obtained a forged check-up report indicating she was half a month pregnant.
She had been intimate with Isaac half a month ago, but her actual pregnancy time was only one week.
If she brought back the real report, Isaac would definitely notice something was amiss.
So, she had to deceive Isaac with the forged report.
Mortimer also had someone deliver a pill to her.
After taking the pill, it would temporarily disrupt the pregnancy timing, making it undetectable by the doctors.
Excitedly holding the report, Kalista returned to Isaac's mansion.
It was still early, and both Isaac and Nora had gone to work, leaving the mansion empty.
Kalista wasn't in a hurry, eagerly waiting in the living room.
It wasn't until 7 o'clock in the evening that Isaac and Nora returned to the mansion together.
Over the past half month, they had been leaving in the morning and returning in the evening together.
Kalista stood up, looking gently at Isaac.
Kalista greeted, "Isaac, you're back? I have something important to tell you."
"Let's talk later, I'll go cook first," Isaac said, heading towards the kitchen.
Kalista bit her lip with jealousy.
Isaac was going to cook for Nora!
It had been the same every day for the past half month.
Making breakfast for her in the morning and dinner in the evening.
And only cooking for that despicable Nora, not even letting her have a bite.
Isaac explained that he was doing it for the child in Nora's belly, not because he cared for Nora.
Although she was dissatisfied, she had to suppress her anger.
But things were different now.
She was pregnant too. She could steal Isaac's care for that despicable Nora!
"What I have to say is very important, listen to me first!" Kalista raised her voice, demandingly.
Isaac stopped in his tracks, frowned, looked at Kalista, and asked, "What is it?"
Kalista blushed shyly and said, "Isaac, I'm pregnant."
"Whose?" Isaac asked.
"Yours, of course!" Kalista said excitedly.
Isaac furrowed his brow, doubting, and questioned, "Mine? How did you get pregnant?"
Could she have immaculately conceived?
Kalista shyly said, "Isaac, don't you remember? Half a month ago that night, we made love, and that's when I got pregnant."
Isaac's gaze darkened a bit.
That night, he hadn't touched Kalista at all.
Rhys had already noticed he had been drugged while in the study.
Knowing it was a trap, he had taken precautions.
Before returning to his room, Rhys had already detoxified him.
He only pretended to be affected by the drug to see what Nora was up to.
After Kalista entered the room and closed the door, the room was filled with anesthetic gas.
Kalista had just slept alone in bed that night, dreaming.
Nothing else had happened.
How could she be pregnant?
"Isaac, this is the report I got from today's hospital check-up," Kalista took out a check-up report from her pocket, walked up to Isaac, and shyly handed him the paper to read.
Isaac took the paper and glanced at it.
It indeed stated that Kalista had been pregnant for half a month.
He pursed his lips, remaining silent.
"Isaac, why aren't you happy at all? Don't you want me to have your child?" Kalista bit her lip, asking sadly.
Isaac put the paper down and said to her, "Hospital tests aren't always accurate. I'll call Rhys to come and check on you."
Without waiting for Kalista's response, he took out his phone and called Rhys to come over immediately.
After making the call, he turned to Nora and said, "You sit for a while, I'll go cook."
Then he went to the kitchen.
Nora seemed not to have heard Isaac's words.
Her mind was in a whirl, feeling somewhat depressed.
Kalista's pregnancy had always been the outcome she hoped for.
But when she heard Kalista say she was carrying Isaac's child, she felt unexpectedly upset.
It was as if something heavy was pressing on her heart, making each heartbeat extremely difficult, difficult to the point of suffocation.
Seeing Isaac's calm reaction, Kalista was very angry.
Didn't Isaac look forward to the child in her belly?
This was completely different from what she had imagined!
Kalista angrily looked at Nora.
It must be because Nora had gotten pregnant before her, and Isaac had already experienced the joy of having a child, which was why he wasn't excited upon hearing about her pregnancy.
Nora, that despicable woman, was indeed a stumbling block on her path to happiness.
Suppressing her resentment, Kalista wore a smug smile and said to Nora, "Now that I'm pregnant with Isaac's child, he will definitely marry me for the child."
Kalista added, "Soon, I will be the mistress here, and by then, you won't have a chance to be here. Enjoy the last bit of luxury life while you can!"
Nora composed herself, smiling slyly, "Whether it's Isaac or this mansion, they are things I've discarded. What are you so proud of?"
"You..." Kalista was furious.
She gritted her teeth and said fiercely, "All you know how to do is mock others!"
Kalista said, trying to contradict Nora, "What do you mean by saying you've discarded them? Clearly, you're the one who's been abandoned!"
Sarcastically, Nora said, "Since you think you're the one who's been abandoned, why are you still so lacking in confidence? Are you afraid of losing to me?"
Nora continued, "Even though I haven't done anything, I even willingly pushed Isaac towards you. Are you still not confident enough to hold onto him?"
Kalista seemed to be hit where it hurt, almost going crazy with anger. "Isaac will marry me for sure. I won't lose to you!" she proclaimed.
"Don't speak so definitively about things that haven't happened yet," Nora said coldly. "If you want to marry Isaac smoothly, stop provoking me."
"Otherwise, if you anger me, I'll seduce Isaac." Nora taunted, "If I make a move on him, do you think you'll be able to compete with me?"
