Chapter 190 Nora, My Wife
Nora exclaimed inwardly, 'Isaac! Why is he here?'
Isaac reeked of alcohol, his face flushed red, looking as if he were poisoned.
His eyes were unfocused and he staggered, almost losing his footing.
He was also filthy, as if he had tumbled into a trash can, and he emitted a foul odor.
Nora had seen Isaac drink before, but she had never seen him get this sloshed!
"You..." as soon as Nora started to speak, Isaac suddenly hugged her. His tall frame, towering a head above hers, and almost knocked her over.
"Honey, why don't you want me anymore?" Isaac asked sadly.
Nora froze, a wave of bitterness surging in her heart.
"Why did you drink so much? You just got out of the hospital today, and yet you dared to drink so much. Do you have a death wish?" Nora angrily questioned.
But Isaac couldn't hear what she was saying; he just kept repeating "Why don't you want me anymore?" while holding her.As he spoke, his voice began to choke with sobs.
Nora tried hard to suppress her tenderness for him.
She freed one hand to reach into her pocket, intending to take out her phone to call Wesley and have him come take Isaac back.
But her pocket was empty; there was no phone.
Nora then remembered that she had left her phone on the coffee table in the living room while organizing the things earlier.
She could only struggle to support Isaac and slowly move him into the living room.
Once in the living room, she placed Isaac on the sofa.
After resting for a few minutes, she picked up her phone and dialed Wesley's number.
"Sorry, the number you have dialed is not in service. Please check the number and dial again," hearing the prompt from the phone, Nora was stunned.
Nora mused, 'Not in service? It shouldn't be like this.
This number is saved in my phone and has always been reachable. How could it suddenly be out of service?'
Nora was dazed for a moment before realizing that Wesley had probably blocked her.
It was likely because of the harsh words she had said earlier that evening.
Besides Wesley, she didn't have the telephone numbers of any of Isaac's other subordinates.
'Who should I contact now to take Isaac back?' Nora wondered.
Nora thought for a moment and then found Harold's number in her contacts and called him.
No one answered the first time it rang.
No one answered the second time either.
It took five calls before someone finally picked up.
"Who is it? Calling in the middle of the night to bother me?" Harold's lazy voice carried a hint of impatience.
Nora awkwardly said, "Harold, it's Nora. I'm sorry to call you so late, but I don't know who else to contact."
"Nora, what's going on?" Harold sounded a bit more awake, and his tone softened.
Nora said, "Isaac is very drunk and came to my house. I tried to contact Wesley to take him back, but I couldn't reach him. I can only contact you. I hope you can come and take him away."
Harold said, "Just let him sleep at your place for the night. When he wakes up tomorrow, he can leave on his own."
Nora said, "It's not convenient."
Harold yawned heavily and replied, "What's the inconvenience in that? Isaac is a good guy. Besides, I've been drinking too and can't drive to pick him up."
He added, "That's it, I'm going back to sleep. Bye."
Before Nora could say anything, Harold hung up the phone.
He had purposely sent Isaac over and had no plans of picking him up.
Isaac had called him out to drink tonight and had been in a foul mood all night.
After getting drunk, he kept calling Nora's name.
So Harold had simply sent him to Nora's place to let him call her as much as he wanted.
Harold thought, 'What is the point of repeating Nora's name in front of me? If Isaac missed Nora so much, he should call her in person!'
Nora threw her phone back on the table and irritably scratched her head.
'No one is coming to pick up Isaac. What should I do?' Nora wondered.
Just then, Isaac, who was lying on the sofa, suddenly started to vomit.
A foul smell quickly filled the living room.
Nora hurriedly helped him up, afraid that the vomit might choke him and cause suffocation.
After helping Isaac up, he started vomiting again.
Seeing the mess on the floor, Nora felt a wave of nausea and started vomiting as well.
Nora didn't stop until she had emptied her stomach, but she still felt the urge to vomit.
'It is too disgusting, too smelly!' Nora cursed inwardly.
Nora held her breath, fighting the nausea, and helped Isaac to the bathroom. She then used scissors to cut off his clothes.
Nora was too exhausted to help him undress properly, so she had to resort to this simple and crude method.
She then washed Isaac from head to toe three times, found a set of pajamas that Steve had left there, and dressed him before helping him out of the bathroom.
The living room was too dirty, so she had to help him to the guest room.Just as Nora was about to get up, Isaac wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her onto the bed and holding her tightly, mumbling to himself, "Nora, don't go."
Isaac held her so tightly, it felt like he wanted to merge her into his body.
Nora felt like her bones were going to be crushed.
"It hurts, let me go!"Nora gasped in pain, writhing and struggling.
He said repeatedly, "Nora, my wife."Isaac couldn't hear her, completely lost in his own world.
Nora panted heavily as she got tired from struggling.
The living room was a mess because of Isaac, and she needed to clean it up soon. Otherwise, the smell would be even worse by morning.
But Isaac kept holding onto her, and she couldn't break free.
She had to give up struggling for now, planning to clean up after Isaac fell asleep.
Fortunately, Isaac was too drunk and soon fell into a deep sleep, his grip loosening.Nora took the opportunity to slip out of his arms.
Isaac instinctively reached out to hold her again.Nora quickly stuffed a pillow into his arms. Then she swiftly ran out of the room.
Nora fought the nausea and cleaned up the living room.
She wiped the floor four or five times, threw away the sofa cover, disinfected the area, and sprayed some fabric deodorant until the foul smell was completely gone.
When she checked the time, it was already 3:30 AM.
She was exhausted, yawning as she headed back to her room to rest.
But when Nora entered the room and saw the scene on the bed, she gasped in shock, her legs going weak, almost collapsing to the floor.
'Isaac has somehow made his way to this room!' Nora thought.
At that moment, Isaac was lying on his back on the bed, holding Magnus and Soren on either side of him.
The two little ones were rubbing their sleepy eyes, looking confused and bewildered.
It was clear that they were very puzzled.
They had been sleeping soundly when suddenly someone barged in, lay down on the bed, and hugged them without a word.
They couldn't figure out what was going on, not even sure if it was a dream or reality.
"Mommy,"Magnus and Soren looked at Nora with innocent eyes as they called out to her softly.
Magnus asked, "Mommy, who is he? Why is he in our bed sleeping with us?"
Nora forced a smile and said, "He's a friend of mine."
Magnus tilted his head curiously, and asked, "Well, why does he look so much like me?"
Soren also asked, "Yeah, why does he look so much like Magnus? It's him who I saw at that time!"
Nora's heart skipped a beat.
