Chapter 474: If One Day, His Lies Are Discovered
Soren was coaxed into a daze and shook her head, saying, "I'm not angry anymore."
Isaac kissed Soren on the forehead, "Good girl, from now on, we'll protect your mommy together."
"Okay!" Soren wiped away her tears and nodded seriously.
But the next second, she was sad again.
Isaac looked at her sad little face and asked gently, "What's wrong now? Why are you unhappy again?"
Soren pouted, tears welling up again, and looked at Isaac with teary eyes, her voice choked, "Then why are Magnus and I only tied for second place in Daddy's heart, not second place alone?"
Not being first was one thing, but being tied for second made her feel like she wasn't Daddy's unique little baby, which made her very sad.
The more Soren thought about it, the sadder she became.
The tears she had been holding back started to fall uncontrollably.
Isaac patiently wiped her tears.
As he wiped, he said, "Your great-grandfather raised me and protected me since I was little. His place in my heart is the same as Mommy and Daddy's place in your hearts. By ranking you together, it shows that I value you both very much."
"Being unique doesn't necessarily mean being valued. You are both extremely important to me, and I can't choose between you, so I rank you together."
Soren seemed to understand, and an obvious look of apology appeared on her little face, "I'm sorry, Daddy. You love Magnus and me so much, I shouldn't have doubted you."
Isaac chuckled, "It's okay, I'm not angry. As long as you don't misunderstand me, I'll never be angry with you."
"You are both very important gifts in my life. I will always love you, even if it means giving up my life for you, I would do it gladly."
Although he said it lightly, in a coaxing and joking tone, his eyes were serious, and his heart was sincere.
For his children, he was willing to give up his life.
This was no joke.
He wasn't just coaxing a child.
This was his true thought.
"Daddy, since you say you love Magnus and me, why did you and Mommy discuss sending us away? If you love us, why don't you want us to live with you? Are you lying to us?"
Soren's big eyes were filled with confusion.
She understood what Isaac was saying, but some things she couldn't figure out.
Magnus, who was beside her, also looked at him seriously.
He was equally puzzled.
If Isaac loved them, why would he want to send them away?
Isaac was silent for a moment before he said, "When you play with a toy for a long time, don't you like it less?"
Soren didn't know why Isaac suddenly changed the topic, but she nodded cooperatively.
Isaac continued, "If one day that toy goes missing, and after a while, you find it again, wouldn't you be very happy?"
Soren thought for a moment and nodded.
She had experienced this before. She had lost a toy and then found it again later, and she was very happy at that time.
Isaac went on, "You have been separated from your mommy before, right? After being apart for a while, weren't you very happy to see her again?"
"But if you always live together, you don't have that special happiness and excitement, do you?"
Soren nodded again, "Yes, every time I'm apart from Mommy, I miss her a lot. The longer we're apart, the more I miss her. When I see her again, I'm very happy!"
Isaac patted Soren's little head and smiled, "Good, your mommy feels the same way."
"So I suggested you live apart for a while. When you see each other again, both sides will be very happy and excited, and your mommy will love you even more."
"Think about it—when you live together every day, doesn’t your mom’s excitement for you kind of fade compared to when you see her after being apart for a while?"
Soren nodded seriously.
Every time they were apart for a while, Nora would want to hold them all the time when she saw them.
But when they lived together every day, Nora held them less, and sometimes she even scolded them.
Nora never used to scold them.
Thinking that Mom might be tired of them made Soren feel sad.
Isaac rubbed her little head, "I'm trying to spark your mommy's feelings for you, to make her love you more, so I suggested you live apart for a while."
"I was thinking of you, but I didn't expect to be misunderstood by you. I won't do such thankless things in the future."
He shook his head and sighed, looking very sad and disappointed.
Soren immediately panicked.
She reached out and hugged Isaac's neck, kissing him on the cheek, "Daddy, I'm sorry. I won't misunderstand you again. Don't be sad."
Magnus grabbed Isaac's sleeve, "Daddy, don't be sad. We understand your good intentions."
Isaac smiled sincerely and rubbed the heads of the two little dummies.
"Good, as long as you understand my intentions, I'm relieved. I won't be angry with you."
Magnus and Soren both let out a sigh of relief.
Isaac continued, "If you don't want to be separated from your mommy, I won't force you. I was just making a suggestion. I will respect your choice."
Magnus and Soren exchanged a glance.
They didn't say anything, but it seemed they reached a silent agreement.
Soren spoke seriously, "Daddy, we want to live apart from Mommy for a while. We want her to love us more!"
Isaac raised an eyebrow and smiled, "No rush, let's consider it after a while."
Soren was unhappy, "Why?"
Isaac replied, "Magnus doesn't sleep well at night. He needs either your mommy or me to be with him to sleep soundly. If we're not there, he wakes up."
Soren blinked and looked at Magnus, "I didn't know that."
Magnus said, "You sleep very soundly, so of course, you didn't know."
Magnus pouted and said softly, "Daddy, I'm sorry for making you and Mommy worry and causing you trouble."
Isaac patted his head and chuckled, "No need to apologize. We don't feel troubled, just worried that you don't rest well."
"Don't put too much pressure on yourself. We will always love you and always be by your side."
Magnus's body trembled slightly.
He looked up at Isaac and asked softly, "If one day, you find out I lied to you and did bad things, will you still love me? Will you still want me?"
