Chapter 526 You Brought This on Yourself
Amara was furious when she heard what Isaac said.
His words were nothing short of an insult to her, weren't they?
She had already been accused of being a homewrecker, and now he was choosing to defend Nora instead of her. How was she supposed to maintain her reputation?
The people around her were looking at her with schadenfreude.
She even heard someone say she deserved it, that a homewrecker could never beat the original wife.
Amara was going crazy with anger.
No matter how aggrieved she felt, Isaac didn't look at her even once. He was always nervously watching Nora, seriously assuring her.
Amara clenched her fists tightly, her anger boiling over, but she was helpless.
The tenderness she longed for was something Nora didn't even care about!
Faced with Isaac's heartfelt assurances, Nora took two steps back with a look of disgust, as if she was afraid of catching something dirty.
Isaac's face darkened, and he looked hurt.
Nora impatiently said, "Stop with the nonsense. Let's go get the divorce papers done first."
With that, she took the lead and walked into the courthouse.
Isaac followed closely behind.
Amara also went in.
After the staff asked some questions, they were given a form to fill out and were told to wait for a while before they could proceed with the divorce.
Because now, there was a cooling-off period for divorces.
Isaac actually breathed a sigh of relief when he heard about the cooling-off period.
Even though the divorce was inevitable, delaying it for a while was better than nothing.
Amara was very disappointed.
They still had to wait for a while!
As long as Isaac and Nora weren't divorced, she would continue to be labeled as a homewrecker.
She didn't want to wait that long, but it was the law, and even if she was unhappy, there was nothing she could do.
After leaving the courthouse, Amara saw that Nora hadn't gone far. She deliberately said to Isaac in front of her, "Isaac, let's start planning the wedding. As soon as you and Nora finalize the divorce, we'll get married and have the wedding right away!"
Isaac's face was gloomy, and he didn't respond.
Nora didn't react at all and got into the car parked by the roadside.
Amara couldn't stand her indifferent attitude, as if Isaac was worthless trash, completely unconcerned.
Isaac was so excellent, why didn't Nora care?
Amara walked up to Nora's car window and said with a mocking smile, "Nora, when Isaac and I get married, you must come and witness our happy moment!"
Nora sneered, "Even though our marriage wasn't widely publicized, many people in high society know about it. Are you inviting me to your wedding to announce to the world that you, the homewrecker, have successfully become Isaac's wife?"
Amara's face darkened.
Nora coldly laughed, "Are you addicted to being called shameless? Do you want people to see how shameless you can be?"
Amara's face twisted with anger.
She clenched her fists tightly, glaring at her with burning rage.
After a moment, she suddenly laughed and said mockingly, "Are you humiliating me in public and letting people call me a homewrecker because you're upset that I took Isaac away from you?"
"Nora, you've always acted so calm. I thought you really didn't care about being Isaac's wife, but it turns out you're just pretending to be aloof. In reality, you're angrier than anyone about losing the title of Isaac's wife."
"Nora, you're such a good actress."
Nora smiled, "If thinking that way makes you feel better, then keep deceiving yourself."
Amara sarcastically said, "Am I wrong? If you really didn't care and were willing to divorce Isaac, why would you publicly call me a homewrecker and let others insult me?"
"You're clearly trying to get back at me! If you didn't care, why would you want to get back at me? Don't try to deny it. As a woman, I know what you're thinking!"
Nora said, "Don't compare me to you, a homewrecker."
"Even though we're both women, there's a difference in our thoughts. How could someone who shamelessly becomes a homewrecker know what I'm thinking?"
Amara was furious.
Nora continued, "Whether I care about this relationship or want to end it has nothing to do with me exposing your disgusting actions."
"You two got together before I divorced. Why should I let you off easy?"
"And you shouldn't have threatened me with my child."
If Amara hadn't threatened her with her child, she wouldn't have made things so unpleasant, but her child was her bottom line.
Dare to threaten her with her child, and she wouldn't let it slide, even if Amara hadn't done anything yet.
She wanted Amara to know she wasn't someone to be messed with.
If Amara messed with her, she won't get any benefits.
Amara was furious.
Nora impatiently said, "Get lost. If you don't want your child to be harmed, don't block my car."
Amara's face turned pale, and she quickly protected her belly, moving aside.
Nora immediately stepped on the gas and drove away.
Amara stomped her foot in anger.
Today was supposed to be her triumphant day, but in the end, she was the one who got angry.
Nora, that bitch, had been abandoned, but she was still so arrogant and carefree, which left her with no sense of victory.
Amara walked up to Isaac, wanted to reach out and hook his arm, but Isaac avoided her.
Amara looked hurt and said aggrievedly, "Isaac, why didn't you help me when Nora bullied me like that?"
She was resentful of Isaac.
If Isaac had helped her, she wouldn't have had to endure this anger.
If he had defended her, those onlookers wouldn't have dared to gossip about her!
But Isaac let those people insult and humiliate her without saying a word in her defense, instead siding with that bitch Nora, which made her very angry.
Isaac coldly said, "You brought this on yourself."
"What? What did you say?" Amara looked at Isaac in disbelief.
Isaac said coldly, "If you hadn't provoked Nora when you saw her, she wouldn't have said those things. And she was telling the truth. You were insulted because of your own actions, not because of Nora."
Amara's face turned pale with anger, her whole body trembling, and tears uncontrollably streaming down her face.
"Isaac, how can you say that to me?"
"Even if I said something wrong at first, Nora shouldn't have humiliated me."
"I'm pregnant. Can't she show me a little sympathy? She has no compassion at all!"
