Chapter 137 Isaac's Explanation

Nora then noticed that she had been too agitated earlier and had torn off several of Isaac's shirt buttons.

At this moment, Isaac's shirt was wide open, revealing a large expanse of solid chest muscles, exuding a deadly attraction.

Nora's face heated up, and she awkwardly said, "Sorry, I'll help you button it up."

Nora took a deep breath, suppressed her inner turmoil, and reached out to help Isaac button up his shirt.

She buttoned them one by one, but because two buttons were broken, the collar remained open.

"I'll compensate you for the shirt," Nora said.

Isaac replied, "I'm not so poor that I can't afford a shirt. Next time, use your brain a bit more. Don't believe everything people say."

After saying that, he turned to walk out of the private room.

Nora stood in daze for a few seconds. Then when she turned to leave as well, Mortimer grabbed her wrist.

"Nora, I have never take advantage of you. I will never hurt you," Mortimer explained.

Nora asked, "So what was your real purpose for calling me out this time?"

Mortimer apologized, "I find that your boyfriend looked too much like Isaac. I am worried he was actually Isaac in disguise, playing with your feelings for revenge. That's why I tricked you into coming out, to expose him. It turns out I was wrong. I'm sorry. I should have told you my purpose from the beginning."

Nora shook off Mortimer's hand and left the private room.

Mortimer silently watched Nora's back.

It wasn't until Nora's figure completely disappeared that Mortimer retracted his gaze, his eyes gradually turning cold.

"Isaac, I still can't beat you," Mortimer said angrily, "Don't you really pretend to be Nora's boyfriend? If not, why do you two look so alike?"Mortimer took out his phone again and repeatedly checked the photos of Isaac and Nora's boyfriend.

He still felt they looked like the same person.

Mortimer got through to Kalista, saying, "Find a way to move back into Isaac's house and see if you can find any human skin masks or other disguise tools."

Nora quickly ran out of the hotel.

She happened to see Wesley driving to pick up Isaac, hurrying over and stopping Isaac.

"Do you still want to tear my clothes off?" Isaac asked with a half-smile.

Nora said, "You still haven't answered one question. Why does Wesley drive away from my boyfriend's car? Aren't you and my boyfriend not on good terms?"

Isaac calmly replied, "During the time he stayed at my house, he broke a lot of my things. You promised to pay off his debt, but I never received the money, so I took his car as collateral. Is there a problem with that?"

Nora's mouth twitched.

She had forgotten about that.

When driving Kalista away, Steve smashed a lot of things in Isaac's villa.

She had promised to compensate Issac, but later, she didn't transfer the money to Isaac.

"No problem," Nora said weakly.

Isaac teased, "Go back and tell him that his broken car isn't even worth a bottle. Tell him to prepare the rest of the compensation quickly. If he doesn't pay, I'll take him to court."

Nora felt even more embarrassed.

After Isaac got into the car, the car quickly disappeared.

After the car had driven a distance, a look of pain appeared on Isaac's face.

Isaac took off his shirt, picked up a bottle of dissolving solution from the car, and poured it onto his skin.

After about ten minutes, Isaac peeled off a piece of lifelike artificial skin from his arm.

Once the skin was removed, the wound on his arm was exposed, now a bloody mess.

The wound had become more severe after being squeezed and torn.

"Mr. Porter, let me take you to the hospital!" Wesley said worriedly.

Isaac said, "Go back and call Rhys over."

He couldn't go to the hospital.

Mortimer would definitely continue to investigate.

If he went to the hospital and exposed his arm injury, it would be like leaving himself open to Mortimer's suspection against him.

Wesley sighed and could only speed up the drive home.

On the other side, Nora took a cab to the store.

Sophia was still staying at the store. Nora was worried, planning to keep her company.

The store door was still closed.

Nora used the key to open the door.

Immediately, a strong smell of alcohol hit her.

She looked up and saw Sophia drinking again, with a dozen empty bottles scattered on the floor.

"Sophia, why are you drinking again?" Nora said, both heartbroken and angry.

She quickly ran over, grabbed the bottle from Sophia's hand, threw it aside, and then helped Sophia to the sofa.

"Nora? Why are you here? It's very late." Sophia asked, her eyes tired with drunkenness.

Nora said, "I am worried about you, so I come to check on you. I don't expect you to be drinking again!"

Sophia smiled bitterly and choked up, "I feel so miserable. When I'm sober, my mind keeps racing. Only when I'm drunk, can I stop thinking."

"But you can't drink. Drinking is bad for your health," Nora advised.

Sophia smiled and said, "I don't even want to live anymore, so I'm not afraid of damaging my health."

Nora hugged her tightly, "Don't say such silly things. You need to live well and live better than before. That's the best revenge against them. If you keep being so down and make a mess of your life or even keep being suicidal, they'll laugh at you. They'll feel smug and gloat without a shred of guilt. Is that what you want to see?"

Hatred flashed in Sophia's eyes. Sheshook her head vigorously, "I don't want them to feel smug. That's the only reason I haven't killed myself."

ON the day when she found out the truth, she had wanted to end it all.

But thinking of those two despicable people, Sophia gave up the idea of suicide.

Sophia wanted to give them something other than satisfaction!

"Exactly, you can't die. You need to live well and take back everything that belongs to you. Crush them under your feet and make them live in misery!" Nora said earnestly.

Sophia smiled bitterly, "What you say is tempting, but I can't do it. I have nothing now. I can't get my house back and owe millions in loans for buying it."

Nora said, "Don't forget, you're not alone. You have me. I'll help you pay off the loan first lest the interest keep piling up. I'll also find a way to help you get your house back."

Sophia shook her head, "I can't take your money."

Nora smiled, "I'm not giving it to you for free. I'm just lending it to you. You can pay me back slowly later."

Tears instantly welled up, and Sophia cried her heart out, "Nora, I really regret not listening to you back then. If I had listened to you from the start and not dated Cole, I wouldn't be in this mess now."

"Everyone makes wrong judgments. Just make sure to keep your eyes open in the future. Don't be too good to men, and don't rely on them too much," Nora said.

Sophia nodded vigorously, a determined light in her eyes.

Even if it was just for Nora, she couldn't stay down like this. She had to pull herself together and live a good life!

Early in the morning the next day, Nora received a phone call.

The person on the other end spoke furtively, "The Food Inspection Bureau came this morning. They've taken samples back for testing. The results will be out in a couple of days. I need to get out of here quickly. I've been in charge of the additives, and Cole will definitely guess it was me who reported him. If he catches me, he won't let me go. He might even make me take the fall."

Nora said, "Go abroad and lay low for a while. Once I see the news report, I'll transfer the remaining payment to you."
