Chapter 250 He Wants to Live with Her
Isaac said slowly, "I'm heading to the restroom. If the cops show up, just go ahead and talk to them for me. I'll be back soon."
Nora, feeling relieved, quickly replied, "Go on, I'll take care of it."
Isaac then turned and walked towards the restroom.
Since Nora didn't want him to see the kids' faces, he wouldn't look. Plus, he didn't want to see two faces that reminded him of Mortimer, which would just upset him.
Once Isaac was out of sight, Nora immediately made her way to the police.
"Mommy!" Soren cried out as soon as she saw Nora, reaching out to her.
Nora's eyes filled with tears, and she instantly wanted to hold her.
But the police officer stopped her and asked, "Who are you to her?"
Nora replied, "I'm their mother. Her name is Soren Foster, and his name is Magnus Foster."
The officer then asked Magnus and Soren, "Who is she to you?"
Soren, still sobbing, answered, "She's my mommy, Officer. I want my mommy to hold me."
Seeing her cry so hard, the officer handed her over to Nora.
Nora held Soren in her arms, tears streaming down her face.
"Mommy, I missed you so much. I thought I'd never see you again," Soren cried, heartbroken.
"I'm sorry, it's my fault. I didn't protect you well," Nora said, holding Soren tightly, her voice choked with emotion.
Then, she saw Magnus in another officer's arms. His eyes were red, but he stubbornly pressed his lips together, refusing to let the tears fall.
Nora patted Soren's back and softly said, "Mommy needs to hold Magnus now, okay?"
Soren was reluctant to leave her mommy's embrace, but knowing that Magnus needed Nora too, she obediently let go. "Got it, Mommy should hold Magnus too. He misses you a lot."
Nora kissed her on the forehead and put her down. Then, she reached out to Magnus.
Magnus didn't reach out on his own, but he didn't resist either, staying silent.
Nora held him in her arms, feeling a sharp pain in her heart at his quietness.
Magnus wasn't like Soren, who liked to express her emotions. Even when he was hurt, he wouldn't say it out loud or cry like Soren.
This made her feel even more heartbroken and guilty.
"I'm sorry, Magnus. It's my fault. I broke my promise to you, and I'm so sorry for making you suffer. Can you forgive me, sweetie? Give Mommy another shot? You can yell at me, even hit me if you want, just don't stay mad at me," Nora said, her tears flowing uncontrollably.
Magnus's nose twitched, and he couldn't hold back his tears anymore. After a while, he hoarsely said, "Okay."
After reuniting with the kids, the cops double-checked their relationship and asked Nora for her ID to complete the paperwork.
Nora did everything they asked. Then she pulled out the masks she had brought and put them on Magnus and Soren.
Soon enough, Isaac showed up.
The police confirmed everything with him again before they left. One of the officers kindly reminded Nora, "Make sure to take care of the kids' mental health. At their age, they should be lively and active. Your child is too quiet."
Nora knew he was talking about Magnus. To the police, she probably seemed like a pretty lousy mom.
Isaac drove them home.
For over a month, Magnus and Soren had been living in fear, forced to do things, and hadn't had proper rest.
Now back with their mom, their tense nerves relaxed, and they soon fell asleep in Nora's arms.
The car stopped downstairs.
Seeing that Magnus and Soren were already asleep, Isaac offered to help carry Magnus. Each of them carried a child upstairs.
After putting Magnus and Soren on the bed, they quietly walked out of the room.
"Thank you, Mr. Porter," Nora said sincerely.
No matter what, Isaac had helped her find Magnus and Soren, which was a huge favor.
"You don't need to thank me. I promised you, and I keep my word," Isaac said seriously. "Let's try to be a little closer from now on, okay? And don't call me Mr. Porter anymore. As a married couple, we shouldn't be so distant."
Nora clenched her fists.
Isaac was reminding her to keep her promise. Now that Magnus and Soren had been found, their contract and vows were in effect.
Suppressing her emotions, Nora nodded lightly. "Got it. But I want to keep living here. I'm more familiar with this place and find it more comfortable."
Mainly, she wanted to stay with Magnus and Soren and didn't dare take them to his villa. With so many servants and bodyguards there, if any of them got curious and took off Magnus's mask behind her back, it would be a disaster.
"Okay." Isaac didn't push her to move back.
Nora felt relieved. She didn't expect Isaac to agree so easily.
"But I will move in and live with you," Isaac added.
Nora felt a bit resistant inside. She didn't want to live with Isaac at all.
Isaac said, "We are a married couple, and we should live together."
Nora could only nod. "Okay, but you can't sleep in the same room as me." Right now, she couldn't handle any intimate contact with Isaac, let alone sharing a bed. Whenever he touched her, she could only remember the things he had said to her before.
