Chapter 194 Magnus is Discovered
At this moment, Magnus had already crawled out from under the bed. It was too late to make him crawl back, and too late to let him run out of the room.
Nora didn't have time to think. The moment Isaac turned around, she quickly rushed in front of him and hugged him tightly.
Then, she swiftly spun around with Isaac in her arms, turning his face towards the wardrobe.
Magnus was also quick-witted.
Taking advantage of this chance, he immediately turned and ran out.
Isaac's whole body stiffened, and his mind went blank for a moment.
"What are you doing?" he asked in a deep voice.
Nora said, "I think I saw something under the bed, but I couldn't see clearly. It was really scary."
Isaac pushed her away. He said calmly, "I'll go check."
Nora saw that Magnus had already run out of the room , so she released Isaac.
Isaac walked to the bed, squatted down, and looked under it.There was nothing under the bed.
"Maybe I didn't sleep well last night and saw it wrong," Nora explained.
As Isaac stood up, he said, "It might not be a mistake. When you turned me around just now, I saw a shadow dart out of the room. I'll go check outside."
He took long strides and walked out.
Nora's heart tightened again. She hurriedly followed him out.
After running out of the room, she looked around nervously but couldn't see anyone. She didn't know where Magnus had gone to hide.
But Nora didn't feel relieved.
Nora pondered, 'The house is only so big, and there are only a few places for anyone to hide. If Isaac keeps searching, Soren and Magnus would be discovered sooner or later.'
Isaac searched the living room for a while but found nothing.
Then, he walked to the kitchen.
After searching the kitchen, he was about to check the bathroom.
Soren was hiding in the bathroom. If Isaac opened the door, he would see Soren immediately.
Nora said, "The bathroom door has been closed all this time. Even if a mouse ran out of the room, it shouldn't be able to get into the bathroom, right? Let's skip the bathroom. Maybe it ran back to the room!"
Isaac said, "It might not be a mouse. The shadow I saw was about the height of the door lock. No matter how big a mouse is, it can't be that tall."
Nora's heart sank in despair and worry.
Isaac's tone became more serious as he continued, "There might be a burglar in your house. I need to search every corner thoroughly today."
'If there really is a burglar hiding inside and I couldn't find them, Nora would be in danger at any moment,' thinking of this, Isaac's expression became more serious.
Before Nora could stop him, he had already opened the bathroom door.
Nora's face turned ashen.
'It's over. Everything is over,' Nora thought in despair.
She followed him with a pale face and said in a trembling voice, "Isaac, let me explain."
"Hmm? Explain what?" Isaac turned to look at her, puzzled.
Nora was stunned.
She looked around the bathroom and found no sign of Soren!
Although she didn't know where Soren had gone to, she breathed a sigh of relief.
She rolled her eyes and said calmly, "I wanted to say that I didn't take advantage of you last night. It was you who insisted on holding me, so I slept with you."
Isaac looked deeply at Nora, his dark eyes were like a bottomless pit, making her feel inexplicably uneasy.
"Nora, you're acting very weird today," Isaac suddenly said.
Nora asked, "What's weird? I'm just the same as usual."
Isaac squinted his eyes at her suspiciously. He questioned, "You wouldn't really be hiding someone in your house, would you?"
Nora instantly broke out in a cold sweat.
She shook her head vigorously and denied angrily, "How could I be hiding someone in my house?
"Even if I wanted to bring someone home, I would do it openly. Why would I hide it? You're already my ex-husband. Why would I be afraid of you knowing that I'm seeing someone?"
Nora's explanation made sense.
But Isaac still felt that her behavior today was very strange.
Isaac didn't say anything more and walked out of the bathroom, continuing to search the house.
But he searched every corner and didn't see any sign of a mouse, let alone a person.
Isaac frowned, full of confusion, and wondered, 'If there was no one in the house, what was the shadow he saw in the room? And what was the noise coming from the room?'
Nora said, "Since we can't find anything, let's stop searching. Maybe the shadow you saw was just a result of drinking too much last night and haven't sobered up yet."
Isaac felt that he hadn't seen it wrong.
But since he couldn't find anyone, he couldn't say anything more.
At this moment, the doorbell rang.
"Who is it?" Nora asked as she walked to the door and looked through the peephole.
Standing at the door was Wesley, delivering clothes.
He answered, "Ms. Foster, it's Wesley. I'm here to deliver clothes for Mr. Porter."
Nora paused at the moment she hear Wesley address her differently..
Wesley used to call her "Mrs. Porter," but now he suddenly changed it. It must have been Isaac who threatened him.
Nora suppressed her emotions and opened the door.
Wesley nodded politely at Nora and then walked into the house with a bag.
He informed, "Mr. Porter, I brought your clothes."
Wesley walked into the living room and put the bag on the table. Then, he looked at Isaac with a hesitant expression.
Isaac glanced at him. Then said, "Just say it."
Wesley said, "When I got off the elevator just now, I vaguely saw two kids. One of them looked a lot like you."
As Wesley said this, Nora had just closed the door and walked over.
Her face changed, and her heart pounded nervously.
Nora's mind raced, thinking anxiously, 'Magnus and Soren have run out of the house, they were seen by Wesley! How could I explain this to dispel their doubts?'.
Isaac remained calm, looking coldly at Wesley. "You didn't catch him and ask about his identity?"
Wesley said, "I wanted to ask, but they ran into the stairwell. When I chased after them, I couldn't see them anymore. I searched upstairs and downstairs but couldn't find them."
Nora deliberately questioned, "Maybe you also didn't rest well last night and saw it wrong? If you really saw kids, how could they disappear so quickly?"
Wesley scratched his head and replied, "I slept well last night. I shouldn't have seen it wrong."
Isaac still looked indifferent, clearly not believing it.
Even if Wesley really saw the kids, it was impossible for a stranger's kid to look just like him.
It was not that he was narcissistic, but with his looks, it was almost impossible for a stranger to look exactly like him.
Wesley saw Isaac's doubt and quickly said, "Mr. Porter, I swear I didn't see it wrong!
"That little boy really looked a lot like you, almost like a miniature version of you. That's why I noticed him immediately and wanted to catch up and ask him!"
As he spoke, Wesley looked at Nora with suspicion,"Ms. Foster, this is your house, and a kid who looks exactly like Mr. Porter appeared. Could it be that you secretly had Mr. Porter's child and hid him?"
