Chapter 88 Isaac pushed her to the Brink
Isaac's mouth twitched fiercely.
"Grandfather, you're too biased. After she divorced me, she immediately seamlessly connected with a new boyfriend. Clearly, she has bigger issues, why are you blaming me?"
Even if the boyfriend she found was pretending to be him. But she didn't know that he was that person.
She genuinely wanted to find a new boyfriend, date that boyfriend, maybe even live together and have intimate relations. Thinking about this, a surge of anger welled up in him. She actually accepted having relations with other men, it seems like she truly doesn't cherish their relationship and has no attachment whatsoever!
"Heh, you actually blame Nora for the seamless connection?" scoffed Edmund, "Nora seamlessly connecting is better than your cross-connections!"
"Don't forget, when did you and Kalista start getting involved with each other?"
"Alright, alright, you two grandfather and grandson, stop arguing," Katie interrupted their argument with a headache.
She was also very unhappy with Nora quickly finding a new boyfriend. But thinking about how she was pregnant with Isaac's child, she felt that those were all minor matters and could be forgiven.
There was nothing more important than helping the Porter Family produce offspring. "Don't worry about past matters, just focus on the road ahead," Katie said. She glanced at Nora and Isaac separately. Finally, her gaze fixed on Nora.
She said seriously, "You don't have to rush into remarriage, but you should be prepared mentally."
Katie said, "If it's a boy, he could be Isaac's future successor. We can't let him carry the label of an illegitimate child, the identity of an illegitimate child will bring him a lot of trouble."
"Have you forgotten how Isaac got through his childhood?" Katie's words made both Edmund and Isaac's expressions darken.
Especially Isaac, his gaze grew cold and a chill uncontrollably emanated from him.
He seemed to recall a bad memory.
The atmosphere in the entire living room instantly became very oppressive.
Nora looked at Isaac in surprise.
Isaac is an illegitimate child?
She had known Isaac for so many years, but she had never heard of it before...
"All right, let's not talk about this for now. Nora has only been pregnant for half a month. It's still early before the child is born. Let's discuss it slowly," Edmund intervened, "Let's go have dinner first, so our great-grandchild won't starve."
The group went to the restaurant.
During the meal, Edmund was constantly lively.
But Alden Porter remained silent.
The dinner was eaten in a very oppressive atmosphere.
After the meal, they sat for a while and then bid farewell and left.
Before leaving, Edmund pulled her aside and whispered to her, "Nora, don't ask Isaac about the illegitimate child, and forget about this matter. Don't mention it to anyone."
Curiously, Nora asked, "Isaac, is he really an illegitimate child? What happened to him when he was young?"
If nothing particularly serious had happened, how could his emotions turn so gloomy with just a few words?
Edmund let out a sigh.
Then he shook his head, unwilling to bring it up.
Nora didn't press further and could only leave with a lot of questions, returning home with Isaac.
After returning home, Isaac went straight into the study.
Nora went back to her room and sent a message to Steve on her phone: [Steve, pack up your things. Come to my ex-husband's house tomorrow and live with me.]
Steve: [Take a careful look at what you've sent. Are you sure you didn't send it wrong? You want me to go to your ex-husband's house and live with you?]
Nora: [I didn't send it wrong, and you didn't read it wrong. That's what I mean.]
Steve: [Will your ex-husband agree?]
Nora: [Yes, he already agreed. And he has also brought his woman back to live with him. They sleep in the same room every night, so I can't lose, that's why I suggested you move in together.]
Steve: [Well, since neither of you have a problem with it, then I don't either.]
In the study, Isaac held his phone and fell into deep thought.
He had agreed so readily, but he hadn't figured out how to handle the issue of two identities appearing at the same time.
Finding someone to impersonate was clearly not feasible.
No matter which identity she posed as, Nora could definitely notice something abnormal if they spent a long time together in close proximity.
But if he refused to move in together, Nora would also suspect.
Isaac realized that he had backed himself into a corner.
No matter which path he chose, it would be wrong.
After hesitating for a few seconds, he dialed Harold Whitaker's phone.
"Calling me so late, what's the matter again?" Harold Whitaker jokingly said, "It's not about Nora again, is it?"
"You guessed right," Isaac didn't deny it.
Harold Whitaker laughed, "It's not that I guessed right, it's that you, heartless person, only remember me when it's about Nora. You never think of me otherwise."
"Tell me, what's the matter this time?"
Isaac saw that he cut straight to the chase, so he didn't beat around the bush and stated his problem.
"I promised Nora that I would make her boyfriend move in with me and live together. Help me figure out how to solve the problem of having both of my identities appear at the same time."
"Are you out of your mind?" Harold Whitaker said.
"If only you were a bit sane, you wouldn't have backed yourself into a corner."
Isaac said coldly, "Steve and her are in a monetary transaction. If I don't agree, she might suspect."
Harold Whitaker said, "If you both appear in front of her at the same time, she won't suspect that you're the same person. She'll just think Steve is unprofessional."
Isaac impatiently said, "Stop talking nonsense and think of a solution for me!"
"This is your attitude when asking for help?" Harold Whitaker said speechlessly, "With such a bad temper, I don't know how Nora put up with you for so long."
"If I were Nora, I would divorce you too."
Isaac's face darkened.
Harold Whitaker said, "This problem of yours is a bit troublesome. Based on Nora's understanding of you, finding someone to impersonate you definitely won't work. As long as you stay closer to her, she will definitely notice flaws."
"Then there's only one solution..."
