Chapter 49 You're So Bad, I Can't Help but Love You

Kalista arrived quickly.

Within half an hour, Wesley personally escorted her into the villa.

"Wesley, are you sure it was Isaac who asked you to bring me here?"

The question repeated in Kalista's head all the way there, persisting even as she entered the villa.

This villa was Isaac and Nora's marital home.

She'd been by Isaac's side for years but was never allowed to come here.

She'd asked countless times, only to be rebuffed by Isaac.

Even after Isaac and Nora's divorce, when she suggested moving in to be with him, he refused.

But now, shortly after being put under a soft house arrest by Isaac, he had Wesley bring her here.

So, instinctively, she thought Wesley might be playing some kind of cruel joke.

"Kalista, rest assured, it's Isaac's orders that I'm acting on to bring you here," Wesley assured her.

"Without Isaac's command, I wouldn't have come for you."

Kalista's brows were furrowed. She was completely at a loss as to why Isaac would issue such an unexpected order.

Was Isaac's idea of punishment for her just to prevent Nora from going to the police?
Back at the house, out of Nora's sight, was he now summoning Kalista to sweet-talk her?

This thought sent a thrill through Kalista. It appeared she held a place in Isaac's heart.

Soon after, Wesley ushered Kalista up the stairs. They stopped on the third floor, just outside the master bedroom. There, Nora stood by the door of an adjacent room, a space Isaac had ordered to be prepared for her, currently being organized by the household staff. Thus, she had no choice but to wait at the doorway.

Upon reaching the top of the stairs, Kalista immediately spotted Nora. "Nora, what are you doing here?" Kalista exploded, her eyes blazing with unrestrained fury. "Did you frame me just to win Isaac's sympathy, to manipulate him into letting you move back in with him?"

"Nora, if you have any sense of shame, you should stay away from Isaac. Stop seducing him!" she continued hotly. "You have a boyfriend and still throw yourself at Isaac. Don't you feel degraded? What makes you any different from a prostitute selling herself on the streets?"

Nora glanced at her coolly and replied with icy detachment, "I have no desire to stay, but Isaac won't let me leave. If you can convince Isaac to release me, you'll have my gratitude."

Kalista was livid.

Was Nora implying that it was Isaac who wanted her back and prevented her from leaving? Impossible!

But after a moment's consideration, Kalista found herself begrudgingly accepting Nora's words. This was Isaac's turf, and the place was crawling with his security personnel. Nora couldn't have set foot here without his command.

The realization sank in, souring Kalista's mood further. What was Isaac up to? Why on earth would he bring someone like Nora back?

"Kalista, please enter the bedroom. I'll go to the study to inform Isaac," Wesley interjected, gesturing toward the room and defusing the clash between the women.

Kalista reluctantly swallowed her anger and redirected her attention from Nora.

Turning to the direction Wesley pointed, she asked with a mix of shock and delight, "Is this the master bedroom? The place where Isaac usually rests?"

"Yes," responded Wesley.

Kalista's heart rate shot up, and she was suddenly abuzz with excitement. Isaac had called her here, allowed her into his personal space, and was moving her into the master bedroom, all in front of Nora.
Was this Isaac's admission of her role, positioning her as the hostess of this place?

Kalista glanced at Nora with smug satisfaction and then strutted into the room with her head held high.

After escorting Kalista to the room, Wesley dashed off to the study to report in.

Soon after, Isaac strode out of the study with a stern expression on his face.

He didn't even glance at Nora before entering the master bedroom.

The door slammed shut behind him, sending a jarring noise echoing through the hall.

Shortly after, Kalista's exaggerated cries filled the room.

"Oh, Isaac, you're so bad, and I adore it."

Nora's body jolted, her face going instantly pale.

Although she had long known about Isaac's affair with Kalista, hearing them together from such close proximity made it difficult for her to catch her breath.

She clenched her fists tightly, struggling to keep her emotions in check.

The moans from the room grew louder, increasingly grating on her nerves.

She couldn't stand to listen to it any longer!

Nora had to get out of there.

But the housemaid blocked her way.

"Mrs. Foster, Isaac has instructed that you aren't to leave this room tonight," the maid said firmly.

A shadow passed over Nora's eyes.

Was Isaac doing this on purpose, making her listen to him being intimate with Kalista?

He really knew how to humiliate her in the cruelest ways.

Even if he wanted to put on a show for her, she had no interest in watching.

With a stony expression, Nora pushed past the maid and descended the stairs without a word.

"Mrs. Foster, this is Isaac's house, and you must obey his commands. If he says you can't leave, then you can't leave," the maids called out as they chased after her.

Nora scoffed, "I'm not part of the Porter family, nor am I one of his lackeys. His commands don't control me."

She quickly made her way downstairs and approached the villa's main entrance.

But as she was about to leave, two security guards blocked her exit.

"Mrs. Foster, please go back. Without Isaac's permission, you can't leave," one of the guards said coldly.

Her expression darkened a shade, "What if I insist on leaving?"

The guard replied, "Then we have no choice but to prevent you by any means necessary."

Nora continued toward the exit, her face set in grim defiance.

Several bodyguards formed a human wall in front of her, blocking her way.

She tried to push through them.

But no matter how hard she pushed, they remained immovable.

The mocking voice of a maid from behind said, "Mrs. Foster, just give up. Without Mr. Porter's permission, there's no way you can leave. You should feel honored that Mr. Porter allowed you to stay. Just do as you're told instead of constantly butting heads with him," the housekeeper chided.

"Just think about it; you used to wait around the house day after day for Isaac to return, but he rarely spent the night. Now that you've finally got the chance to spend the night with him, why can't you appreciate what you've got? Why are you trying to leave?"

Her voice was thick with mockery and disdain.

Back when Nora and Isaac were still married, the staff at the villa barely showed her any respect due to Isaac's neglect and indifference toward her.

Now that Nora and Isaac were divorced, they regarded her even less.

Nora cast a glance at the housekeeper.

Then, she turned and walked back.

The housekeeper snorted derisively, "At least you know your place!"

But her smugness was short-lived.
