Chapter 121 For Her, Not Afraid of Death
"Have I offended you? You know what you did, and you know it well!" Every word Isaac spoke seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth, filled with murderous intent.
Mortimer was startled by Isaac's terrifying appearance.
Since four years ago, he had never seen Isaac so angry.
What had happened to Isaac this time?
"I don't understand what you're talking about." Mortimer still looked puzzled.
Isaac punched Mortimer in the face.
Mortimer staggered back, his mouth quickly swelling up, blood oozing out, causing him to gasp in pain.
"You manipulated Jay into changing the DNA test results, tricking me into thinking Nora's baby was yours, not mine. . Do you think you deserve to live?"
Mortimer was shocked, thinking, 'Does he actually know?'
"Mortimer, I never expected you to be so despicable and shameless, using such vile and disgusting means to break up me and Nora! You altered the test results, causing me to misunderstand Nora and neglect her, which led to her miscarriage. You indirectly caused the death of my child, and I will make you pay for it!" Isaac said angrily.
Mortimer, having already claimed the lives of his three children, wouldn't be let off the hook. His fury was now at a fever pitch. The killing intent on Isaac became even stronger.
He punched Mortimer again.
At this moment, a group of people rushed in from outside.
"Protect Mr. Radcliffe!"
These people were all Mortimer's bodyguards.
When the secretary left earlier, feeling uneasy, he quietly informed Mortimer's assistant Alaric, who immediately brought people over.
Facing a large and formidable group with weapons at hand, Isaac was soon left with bruises all over.
Suddenly, another group of people rushed into the office.
Harold led a group of people in, shouting sternly, "Mortimer, tell your people to stop!"
With a dark look in his eyes, Mortimer remained silent for a few seconds before speaking.
When Mortimer was about to speak, Isaac had already rushed to him, kicked him, and sent him flying out.
Then, Isaac pinned him down, raining down blow after blow on Mortimer, the fierce force making Mortimer dizzy, unable to fight back.
"Mr. Radcliffe!" Alaric saw Mortimer being beaten, feeling anxious.
But Harold's men entangled Alaric and the other bodyguards, and they were unable to get close to Isaac and Mortimer.
With a hint of cruelty in his eyes, Alaric took out his phone and quietly sent a call for help to the captain of the guard sent by King Cappadocia.
Soon, a group of people with exotic faces rushed into the office.
Their skills were obviously much better than those of ordinary bodyguards.
After entering the office, they all pulled out their guns.
One of them spoke, "Everyone stops. Release Mr. Radcliffe, or else!"
The others hesitated and stopped their actions.
But Isaac seemed not to hear, wanting to kill Mortimer, seeking revenge for his children.
The captain of the guard's eyes showed a murderous intent, aiming the gun directly at Isaac.
Harold was nervous and quickly ran over.
Before the gunshot rang out, Harold knocked aside the guard captain's arm, making the shot go off target.
The bullet hit the ground near Isaac's feet.
Even though it didn't hit anyone, the loud gunshot still shocked everyone.
Most of these bodyguards had never dealt with guns before.
It was the first time they truly felt the power of a gun, making them deeply shaken.
"Stop them, kill together!" The captain of the guard ordered again.
Then, the other guards also pulled out their guns.
With so many people firing at the same time, there was no way to stop them.
Harold looked at Mortimer with bloodshot eyes, urgently shouting, "Mortimer, tell them to stop!"
Mortimer's eyes darkened a bit, thinking, 'If Isaac died, no one would compete with me for Nora. I can slowly enter Nora's heart. Over time, Nora will surely forget Isaac and accept my kindness.'
Mortimer, only a dull cough came out without uttering a word of protest.
Harold was getting more anxious.
At this point, all the guard teams had their guns out.
Some pointed their guns at other bodyguards, intimidating them not to move, while the rest all aimed at Isaac's back.
The guard captain pulled the trigger again.
"Stop!"
At that moment, a sharp voice of fear came from outside.
Before anyone could react, a slender figure swiftly ran into the office, rushing towards Isaac and embracing him from behind.
Mortimer was shaken. "Nora, move away!"
However, Nora stubbornly stood in front of Isaac, showing no intention of dodging.
The guard captain's hand was halfway to pulling the trigger, with no time for persuasion.
"Damn it!" Mortimer cursed softly.
Then, just as he had been defenseless against Isaac moments ago, Mortimer suddenly pushed Isaac off him with force and swiftly turned around, using his body to shield Nora and Isaac.
The gunshot rang out.
The shot hit his back, causing Mortimer to let out a painful grunt.
"Mr. Radcliffe?!" Everyone was shocked.
The guard team even knelt, their faces full of fear and guilt.
Mortimer gritted his teeth, suppressing the sudden pain, his usually gentle voice carrying a hint of fierceness, "Back off. They are all my friends. No one is allowed to harm them! Whoever dares to harm them is my enemy, and I will not spare them! If my friend is injured, wherever he is hurt, I will bear the same injury!"
With these words from Mortimer, no one dared to act again.
The guard team, especially, didn't dare to make any reckless moves.
They were afraid that if something happened to Mortimer, the king would hold them accountable.
Mortimer turned to look at Nora.
Although his face was pale, sweat beading on his forehead, Mortimer managed a faint smile, asking softly, "Sorry for being fierce just now. Do I scare you?"
Nora shook her head with mixed emotions.
Mortimer asked again, "It happened quickly earlier. I couldn't protect you when I fell on you. Did you get hurt?"
Nora shook her head again. "Your injuries are more severe. It would help if you went to the hospital first," Nora reminded him.
Mortimer smiled warmly and said, "It's not life-threatening; just hit my shoulder blade. Don't worry."
Isaac coldly remarked, "What a pity I can't kill you!"
"Isaac, can't you be more reasonable? Mortimer just saved us. Why do you still have this attitude?" Nora said, displeased.
Isaac glared at her, angrily saying, "You are a fool. You wouldn't even know if he sold you one day!"
Nora said, "Mortimer is good to me. He wouldn't harm me."
"Fool, shut up!" Isaac harshly interrupted her.
Then, he picked her up and walked out quickly.
Mortimer tightly pressed his lips with dark eyes when watching their backs.
