Chapter 445: Isaac is both upright and kind
Isaac explained, "I really didn't mean to put Soren under the bed, I just found her there and didn't bring her up."
Isaac looked innocent.
Although it was shameless of him not to bring Soren back up after finding her, it was still better than actively throwing her down.
Nora glared at him, not wanting to argue further.
She got out of bed, and went to the bathroom to freshen up.
Isaac enthusiastically followed her.
After freshening up, Isaac reluctantly said to Nora, "Honey, I have things to do and can't stay here for long. I'll be heading back to the city soon."
Nora glanced at him indifferently, "Busy going back to accompany your fiancées, right?"
Isaac claimed seriously, "I don't have fiancées, I only have you as my wife."
Nora sneered, "We're already divorced. Don't call me honey anymore. Call me that one more time, and I'll hit you."
Isaac replied, "We never finalized the divorce. We're still married."
Nora shot back, her anger flaring, "Then I'll go back with you today, and we'll get the divorce done!"
"No," Isaac replied, his tone firm, "I won't divorce you. You were the one who insisted on marrying me in the first place, so now you can't just walk away."
Nora was furious, "Isaac, can you stop being so shameless? You already have fiancées and even brought them home, yet you refuse to divorce me. What exactly do you want?"
Isaac's expression was complicated, "I'll explain everything to you after some time. But the bottom line is, I'm not divorcing you. I've always been faithful to our relationship and marriage."
Isaac went to see Magnus for a while, then left the villa.
After a three-hour drive, Isaac returned to the city villa.
Rhys happened to be there and said to Isaac, "Yesterday, you asked me to help treat Liora, but I didn't."
Isaac's face darkened, and he looked at him coldly, "Why?"
He had asked Rhys to treat Liora not to help her recover but to make her suffer the same pain Magnus had endured.
Rhys explained, "Because her condition was already very serious, I had no room to intervene."
"She won't just be incontinent; her limbs might not even work properly."
"And if she doesn't get the right treatment, she could end up paralyzed, and her cognitive function could deteriorate."
"Amara was really ruthless, electrocuting her to the brink of death. Liora's brain was severely damaged."
Isaac's mood instantly improved.
This was indeed good news.
Rhys comtinued, "Yesterday evening, the Hansen family sent someone to take the two sisters away. With all the commotion on the way, her condition might have worsened."
Isaac commented, "That's her punishment."
Rhys also thought it was a punishment.
Liora had been so cruel to a three-year-old child that even death wouldn't be too much.
"By the way, where were you yesterday? Kieran just told me that you didn't come back last night. Magnus was very anxious in the new environment. Why didn't you come back to accompany him?" Rhys asked.
Isaac said in a deep voice, "I was at the hospital entrance yesterday and saw Mortimer and Nora, but Nora ran away as soon as she saw me. I chased her to the villa and stayed there for the night."
Rhys looked surprised, "Nora went to the city to find Mortimer and didn't contact you?"
Isaac replied, "Nora said she didn't come to the city yesterday, and the people at the villa confirmed that at the time I saw Nora, she was at the villa."
Rhys asked in confusion, "So, did you see it wrong?"
Isaac shook his head, "No way, I'd never confuse her. I know Nora too well to mix her up with anyone else."
Rhys was puzzled, "Then what's going on?"
Isaac didn't answer.
He took out his phone and played the surveillance video he had someone check yesterday, letting Rhys watch it himself.
He had only seen the back at the time.
But there were cameras in all directions at that location, and one of them captured the front.
Although Nora was wearing a mask at the time, it was still recognizable as her.
"It really is Nora." After watching the surveillance, Rhys also thought the woman in the video was Nora.
Whether it was her figure, appearance, or temperament, it was Nora.
"What's going on? Did the people at the villa get bribed by Nora to lie to you?" Rhys asked.
Isaac didn't speak, but his face was very gloomy.
After a while, he said, "If they are still in contact secretly, they will keep it up. I've already asked Wesley to have someone keep an eye on Mortimer. If they meet again, we'll have evidence."
Rhys couldn't help but shake his head and sigh, "What is Nora doing? Why does she still want to meet Mortimer secretly?"
Isaac didn't say anything more and turned to find Magnus.
He didn't want to think about it anymore. He would focus on healing the children's injuries first.
Minnalora.
Sylvie looked at her two daughters who had been sent back and almost fainted from anger.
Liora was still unconscious. The doctor said she had been severely electrocuted, and her brain nerves were damaged. She might become paralyzed and incontinent for life.
Amara had been stabbed twice, but her injuries were not as serious.
When they got home, Amara happened to wake up.
As soon as she woke up, she looked around for Isaac, "Where's Isaac? Why isn't he here?"
Sylvie was furious and shouted, "At a time like this, you're still thinking about Isaac? That bastard caused you and your sister to end up like this. He's a vicious bastard!"
Amara looked at Sylvie in surprise, "Mom? Why are you here?"
Sylvie shouted angrily, "This is Minnalora. I had someone bring you home!"
Amara was instantly displeased, "Mom, why did you bring me back? Send me back quickly. I want to stay with Isaac!"
She had avenged Isaac, and he must be very touched. She wanted Isaac to take care of her personally!
Sylvie actually brought her back to Minnalora. How could she show off in front of Isaac now?
Amara seemed to think of something and hurriedly asked, "Where's Liora? Is she dead?"
Sylvie's face darkened, "Liora is your sister. How can you be so heartless and wish for her to die? Thank goodness she pulled through, or I swear I would have had a serious talk with you!"
Amara's face sank. Liora didn't die!
How could that woman be so resilient?
"Mom, did you leave Liora at Isaac's house to matchmake her with Isaac, so you deliberately brought me back? How can you be so biased?" Amara was furious, her voice full of accusation.
Sylvie was exasperated, "I brought Liora back too!"
"You really infuriate me. Isaac deliberately incited you sisters to kill each other. He doesn't care about your lives and wants you both dead, yet you still think about him. You don't even care about your own sister for his sake. You're really stupid!"
Amara said unhappily, "Mom, you can't insult Isaac. Isaac didn't incite me and Liora to kill each other. It was my own idea to kill Liora."
Sylvie's eyes turned red with anger, "What did you say? You actually wanted to kill Liora yourself? She's your sister! How could you be so cold-hearted?"
Amara said righteously, "It was Liora who tried to kill me first! Isaac warned me to watch my back, so I had to be ready to defend myself. If I hadn't, she would've taken me out already!"
Sylvie said, "Do you believe everything Isaac says? He's trying to sow discord!"
Amara said angrily, "Isaac is not sowing discord. He is kind and upright, much better than you and Liora!"
"Now I understand why you like Liora so much. It's because her personality is as vicious and dark as yours. You see everyone as dark because you are dark inside!"
Sylvie's chest heaved with anger, "How dare you say that about me? I've always spoiled you, and you think I'm dark inside?"
Amara said, "You only spoiled me on the surface, but you never let me get involved in any family matters. You wanted Liora to marry Isaac, and you always helped her!"
"Liora was the one who wanted to kill me first. Isaac warned me and saved my life, yet you still insult and slander him in front of me."
"Do you hate Isaac for warning me and letting me escape? Are you disappointed that I'm still alive?"
Sylvie was at a loss for words.
She wasn't unconcerned about Amara.
She just thought that if Liora wanted to kill Amara, it must have been instigated by Isaac.
Then he gave a strange warning to Amara, causing the sisters to fight each other, both getting hurt, and he could use their lives to threaten her to cancel the contract.
Isaac cleared himself of any wrongdoing, seemingly doing nothing, but he benefited the most, making Sylvie suspicious.
No, Sylvie was more than suspicious. She was certain that Isaac did it on purpose.
But she had no evidence and didn't know how to convince Amara to believe her.
At this moment, Liora also woke up.
Sylvie hurriedly asked, "Liora, you're awake? How are you feeling?"
Liora opened her mouth, but her lips kept trembling, unable to say a word.
Liora was terrified.
Why couldn't she speak?
She wanted to move but found that her body wouldn't respond!
Liora panicked, making weak sounds, and tears uncontrollably streamed down her face.
Sylvie looked at her with a mix of sadness and anger.
Liora had been fine before going to Isaac's place, but now she was like this!
She couldn't believe that Isaac hadn't deliberately lured Liora over and incited the sisters to kill each other.
Unfortunately, she realized it too late, and now it was too late to regret.
"Liora, try to stay calm. You will recover," Sylvie tried to comfort her.
Then she asked seriously, "Liora, I need you to answer me one question. Amara said you wanted to kill her. Did Isaac incite you to do it?"
"If he did, nod your head!"
Sylvie looked at Liora seriously.
Amara also turned her head with difficulty to look at her, her eyes full of hatred and unwillingness.
It was a pity that Liora hadn't been electrocuted to death!
Under Sylvie and Amara's gaze, Liora shook her head with difficulty.
Sylvie's face darkened, and she said angrily, "He has harmed you so much, and you still cover for him? What spell did he cast on you?"
Liora frowned unhappily and shook her head again with difficulty.
She was just telling the truth.
It was her own idea to kill Amara. Unfortunately, that bitch was also prepared to kill her!
Amara sneered, "Mom, did you see that? She admitted it. She wanted to kill me, and it had nothing to do with Isaac. Don't blame Isaac to cover for your precious daughter!"
"Now that Liora has admitted she wanted to kill me, you should give me an explanation. How do you plan to punish her?"
Sylvie said, "Liora is already seriously injured, which is punishment enough. You two are sisters, you should forgive her."
Amara felt a chill in her heart, "She wanted to kill me, and you want me to forgive her?"
Sylvie frowned, "Didn't you also want to kill her? You're even now. No one owes anyone."
Amara shouted angrily, "But she was the one who wanted to kill me first. If Isaac hadn't warned me, I would never have thought of killing her. And you say we're even?"
"Mom, you're too biased!"
"Have you ever thought that if Isaac hadn't warned me, I would be dead by her hand now?"
Sylvie's expression darkened, "There are no 'ifs.' We only talk about facts. The fact is that you and Liora both wanted to kill each other. You both acted, and now you're both injured but not dead. Everything is even."
Amara was completely disheartened.
Was this the bias Liora talked about?
Sylvie had always been biased towards Liora.
Even when Liora harmed her multiple times as a child, Sylvie never did anything to Liora.
This time, Liora wanted to kill her first, and Sylvie said they were even?
Amara clenched her fists tightly, filled with hatred.
Only Isaac truly cared for her, only Isaac was good to her and cared about her life.
Her mother, Sylvie, was just like Liora, a bastard!
Amara made a silent vow that if Sylvie wouldn't avenge her, she would avenge herself.
She would kill Liora!
Make Sylvie lose her most beloved daughter!
She would also destroy Sylvie's career, turning her life into a nightmare!
The only person who could help her destroy Sylvie's career was Isaac.
Thinking of Isaac, Amara felt a warmth in her heart, and her emotional wounds seemed to heal instantly.
Once she recovered, she would go to Aridonia to find Isaac.
If it weren't for Isaac, she would have died at Liora's hands. She had to repay Isaac's kindness.
Moreover, she needed Isaac's help to get revenge on Sylvie.
Isaac was such a good person; she believed Isaac would definitely help her.
Isaac had specifically warned her to be on guard against Liora, proving that he cared about her and was concerned for her.
Since he cared about her, he wouldn't refuse to help her get revenge!
