Chapter 212 You Are Not Worthy

The car zoomed down the road.

In no time, they pulled up at the Radcliffe Family cemetery.

A couple of guards were hanging out at the entrance.

Seeing some unfamiliar faces, the guards got all tense.

Wesley stepped up, trying to sweet-talk the guards into letting them in without any drama.

After all, this was the Radcliffe Family cemetery, and today was Nora's burial day. Best to keep things chill if possible.

"We're here to pay our respects to Ms. Foster. Please let us in," Wesley said, all polite.

The guards recognized them and snapped, "Mr. Radcliffe said no bastard from the Porter Family is allowed in!"

Wesley's face twisted with anger. "How dare you insult us?"

Isaac, cold as ice, said, "Drop that. Let's just barge in!"

"Yeah!" Wesley rallied his crew.

The two groups clashed.

Isaac stepped up.

The Radcliffe Family guards sent a few guys to stop him.

But Isaac kicked them aside like they were nothing.

Isaac kept moving forward, and more guards tried to block him, but none could hold him back.

After nearly ten minutes, Isaac finally spotted a group of people dressed in black.

He could barely hear the pastor's prayers in the middle.

Isaac's eyes darkened, and he picked up the pace.

He pushed through the crowd and saw Mortimer standing there, holding an urn.

Next to Mortimer stood Elder.

Mortimer's face was a mess of grief, his eyes red and swollen, tears still streaming.

When he saw Isaac, his eyes blazed with anger. He shouted, "What are you doing here? Leave now and don't disturb Nora's peace!"

Trying not to ruin Nora's funeral, Mortimer was barely holding back his rage.

Isaac didn't budge.

He stared darkly at the urn in Mortimer's hands, his fists clenched tight.

"Alaric, get him out of here!" Mortimer ordered Alaric to remove Isaac when he saw he wouldn't leave.

Alaric was about to act, but Elder suddenly scolded, "Mortimer, stop it. Since Isaac is here, let him watch Nora's burial with us."

Mortimer sneered, "Nora was driven to death by him. What right does he have to be at her funeral? Nora will never rest in peace seeing him cry at her grave!"

Elder frowned, "That's enough."

Mortimer shut up, but his eyes were full of hostility as he glared at Isaac.

Isaac walked step by step towards Mortimer.

He stopped just two steps away.

His gaze locked on the urn as he said, "Give Nora back to me."

Mortimer spat, "What right do you have to take Nora? You caused her death. Isn't that enough? Do you want to disturb her even in death?"

Isaac's eyes darkened even more. He said calmly, "I am her husband. I should be the one handling her funeral. She should be buried in the Porter Family cemetery!"

Mortimer reminded him, "You are just her ex-husband. You divorced three months ago!"

Isaac said, "We only signed the divorce agreement. We never went through the legal procedures. Legally, we are still married!"

Mortimer's eyes widened. They hadn't finished the divorce paperwork?

But maybe Isaac was just making that up to snag Nora's ashes.

"Give Nora to me!" Isaac demanded again.

Mortimer shot back, "No way. She left a will asking me to handle her funeral!"

Seeing Mortimer wouldn't budge, Isaac had no choice but to take it by force.

Isaac lunged for the urn, trying to snatch it.

Mortimer clung to it, refusing to let go.

Isaac kicked Mortimer's knee.

Mortimer's legs buckled, and he hit the ground.

As he knelt, Isaac took the chance to kick him in the gut.

The pain made Mortimer lose his grip on the urn.

Isaac grabbed the urn and turned to leave.

Mortimer quickly grabbed his foot, shouting, "Leave Nora's ashes. You can't take her!"

Isaac, annoyed, kicked him away.

Then, he cradled the urn and walked off.

"Alaric, stop him! If he doesn't leave the urn, don't let him go!" Mortimer yelled.

Alaric said, "Yes, sir!"

Elder shouted angrily, "Everyone, stand down. Let him go!"

"Grandpa!" Mortimer's eyes were red with anger, "Are we just going to let him take Nora?"

Elder said, "He said they haven't completed the divorce procedures. Legally, they are still married. He has more right to handle Nora's funeral than you do."

Mortimer pressed his lips tightly, full of unwillingness.

Elder's voice softened, "Letting Nora rest in peace is the most important thing. If you don't let him take Nora's ashes, he won't give up. Do you want to keep arguing with him and not let Nora be buried?

"Even if we drive him away and successfully bury Nora here, do you think he will stop? He will still dig up Nora's ashes and take them away. He won't let Nora's ashes stay in the Radcliffe Family cemetery."

"Instead of letting Nora's grave be disturbed after burial, it's better to let him take her back for burial," Elder explained.

Mortimer said, "But Nora was driven to death by him. How can we give her to her killer?"

Elder said, "Nora committed suicide. No one killed her."

Mortimer's face was dark, still full of unwillingness.

Elder walked a few steps forward with his cane, reached out to pull him up from the ground, and brushed the dirt off his clothes.

He remarked calmly, "Alright, don't be angry. If you insist on burying Nora in the Radcliffe Family cemetery, it will be bad for her reputation.

"You and Nora were nothing. Burying her in the Radcliffe Family cemetery is not appropriate. Even in death, she will be gossiped about and won't rest in peace.

"But Nora's relationship with the Porter Family is different. Even if the outside world thinks Nora and Isaac divorced, being buried in her ex-husband's family cemetery sounds better than being buried in a rumored lover's cemetery."

Mortimer pressed his lips tightly, saying nothing more.

Isaac took Nora's urn and returned directly to the villa.

Edmund saw him return and asked in surprise, "You brought Nora's ashes back? How did you get Mortimer to hand them over?"
