Chapter 473 Isaac's Bluff
After Nora and Isaac returned home, Isaac made Nora lie down to rest and didn't let her do anything.
He even carried her to the bathroom when she needed to go.
Nora said speechlessly, "There's no need to be so cautious. The doctor said to rest, not to overexert myself, and to avoid cold water. I don't need to be treated like I'm fragile!"
Isaac smiled, "I like taking care of you. Just let me fulfill my wish."
Nora's mouth twitched.
In the evening, when Magnus and Soren came home from school, Isaac sternly instructed them not to bother Nora.
Magnus and Soren had never seen him so serious before and were scared, obediently staying far away from Nora.
While Isaac was in the kitchen cooking, Magnus and Soren sneaked into the room, lying by the bed with innocent big eyes, looking at Nora pitifully.
Soren said in a sweet childlike voice, "Mommy, Daddy was so fierce today. He even warned Magnus and me not to talk loudly and not to disturb you."
"We usually don't talk loudly. Daddy just doesn't want us to talk."
Feeling sorry, Nora wanted to hug Soren.
But Soren quickly backed away, shaking her head vigorously, "Mommy can't hug me. Daddy also said that Magnus and I shouldn't let you hug us."
"Daddy said Mommy's health is not good and you can't get tired. If we let you hug us now, you won't be able to carry us later!"
Nora was speechless. What nonsense had Isaac been telling the kids?
She chuckled, "I'm fine. You don't need to be so nervous."
Magnus frowned, looking worried, "Mommy, what's wrong? Are you sick?"
Nora hesitated for a moment and then nodded, "Yes, I'm sick and need to rest for a while. During this time, I can't get too tired, but I can still play with you at home. I just can't go out to play."
Soren immediately asked worriedly, "What kind of sickness do you have, Mommy? Is it serious?"
Nora smiled, "It's a minor illness, not as serious as your daddy said. Don't be too worried."
"Go play your games. I'm fine."
But Soren shook her head vigorously and climbed onto the bed with all his limbs.
She originally wanted to lie on top of Nora, but remembering Isaac's warning, she finally just sat in front of Nora and said in a sweet childlike voice, "I don't want to play. I want to stay with you, Mommy."
Nora held her phone and blinked, "But I want to play games. If you're here, I can't play games and have to talk to you."
The screen of her phone showed a game interface.
Soren looked aggrieved.
She had come to keep Nora company, but Nora preferred playing games over her.
"Mommy and Daddy are both bad. I won't like you for a minute!" Soren said angrily.
Nora was amused by her puffed-up face and couldn't help but pinch her soft, cute cheeks, laughing, "A minute is too short. One game takes at least ten to twenty minutes. You can like me again after twenty minutes."
Soren got even angrier.
She jumped off the bed, grabbed Magnus's hand, and ran out of the room with her short legs.
"Haha."
Nora couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Isaac walked in at some point and said to her, "Should we send Magnus and Soren away for a while, let them stay somewhere else until you recover?"
He had many properties and could easily find a place for Magnus and Soren to stay.
He would stay here to take care of Nora and enjoy some alone time together.
Nora glared at him, "Don't you dare! You can't send them away, even if you send yourself away!"
Isaac continued, "We haven't had time alone for a long time. Don't you want to live alone with me?"
Nora said, "The kids are still young and need me. Besides, Magnus sometimes wakes up at night, and I wouldn't be at ease."
Hearing this, Isaac gave up the idea of sending them away.
At the door, Soren's angry voice came, "Daddy is also bad. I don't like Daddy anymore!"
Isaac's body stiffened, and he turned to look.
But Soren had already run away angrily.
Isaac helplessly rubbed his forehead, "Why didn't I hear Soren walking?"
Nora raised an eyebrow, "You weren't paying attention. She was following right behind you. She was at the door when you came in."
So, Soren had heard every word Isaac said.
Isaac chuckled.
He walked to the bed, bent down, and kissed Nora on the forehead, saying gently, "I'll go comfort her first. I'll call you for dinner later."
Nora pushed him away, "Go ahead, don't interrupt my game."
Isaac reluctantly kissed her again before leaving the room.
Nora touched the spot where Isaac had kissed her, her mouth curling up slightly.
She quickly returned to normal and started playing her game.
Isaac walked out of the room and into the living room.
Soren was curled up on the sofa, wiping her tears.
Magnus was sitting on the carpeted floor, holding a toy gun, looking a bit lonely and uneasy.
Isaac walked over, picked up Magnus first, then walked to Soren and picked her up too, sitting down with both of them in his arms.
"Let go of me. Daddy doesn't like Magnus and me. He wants to send us away. I don't like Daddy anymore. I don't want Daddy to hold me. Let go of me!"
Soren was very angry, struggling and wriggling in Isaac's arms.
Isaac held her tightly.
Soren cried with tears streaming down her face, making Isaac feel heartbroken.
Isaac had to temporarily put Magnus aside and gently wiped Soren's tears.
"Alright, Soren, don't cry. I don't dislike you. You and your great-grandfather are tied for second place in my heart. I love you vvery much," Isaac said while wiping her tears.
Soren said aggrievedly, "Why only second place, not first?"
Isaac said matter-of-factly, "First place is your mommy."
Soren pouted, still crying.
Isaac asked, "So, in your heart, am I first, or is your mommy first?"
Soren didn't even think about it and answered matter-of-factly, "Of course, it's Mommy!"
Isaac laughed, "See, I'm not first in your heart either. We're even."
Soren frowned, feeling that Daddy made some sense, but still a bit unhappy.
Isaac continued, "Do you love your mommy?"
Soren nodded vigorously, "I love Mommy!"
Isaac said, "Then shouldn't you be happy that there's someone else who loves Mommy with you?"
Soren continued to nod, "I should be happy."
Isaac smiled and asked, "So, are you still unhappy that I put your mommy first?"
