Chapter 414: Good News
Nora uttered, "I was worried that your body couldn't handle the bumps in the car, so I wanted to wait until you felt better before leaving."
Sophia said urgently, "The bumps don't bother me at all. I can leave now. Staying in the hospital makes me feel worse, which isn't good for my recovery."
Nora agreed, "Alright, I'll arrange the car today, and we'll leave tomorrow."
Sophia smiled, "Okay."
Nora comforted Sophia, had breakfast with her, and then went out to find an RV, so Sophia could lie down in it and go to the resort with her.
As she left the hospital, Nora received a call from Mortimer.
"Nora, are you sober? Nothing happened last night, right?" Mortimer asked softly.
Nora answered, "I'm fine, don't worry."
Mortimer smiled bitterly, "I'm sorry, you asked me to protect you last night, but I couldn't stop Isaac from taking you away."
Nora asked, "What exactly happened last night?"
Mortimer explained truthfully, "After you got drunk last night, I took you out of the hotel, planning to take you home. But when I called my men to bring the car, Isaac suddenly appeared and forcibly took you away."
"I was afraid of hurting you, so I didn't dare to fight him. I could only watch as he took you away."
"Isaac didn't hurt you, did he?"
Nora recalled the events of last night.
Although she was very drunk, she could still remember some vague memories.
She remembered tying Isaac up and whipping him with a belt.
When she woke up this morning, she saw red marks on his body from the whipping through his unbuttoned shirt.
Nora covered her face.
She was such a pervert.
She actually tied Isaac up and whipped him!
In her memory, she almost did something even worse, almost cutting off his genital.
But even drunk, she had a strong sense of the law, knowing that cutting it off would land her in jail, so she continued whipping him instead.
Nora collected herself and said to Mortimer on the other end of the phone, "He didn't hurt me, don't worry."
"Do you need something?"
"No, I just wanted to make sure you're safe."
"If there's nothing else, I'll hang up now. I need to prepare the car."
Mortimer asked, "What are you preparing the car for?"
"Tomorrow, I'm taking Sophia to the resort. I need to prepare a stable RV where she can lie down."
Mortimer smiled, "You don't need to go through the trouble of finding one. I have an RV at home. I'll take you both tomorrow."
Nora hesitated for a moment, then nodded, "Alright, thank you."
Mortimer chuckled, "No need to be so polite between us."
The next day, at nine in the morning, Mortimer personally brought the RV to the hospital entrance.
He then arranged for bodyguards to carry Sophia onto the RV.
Her wounds hadn't healed, so she couldn't move on her own and had to be carried.
Nora stayed by her side, constantly observing her condition.
Mortimer also got on the RV.
Nora asked, "Are you going to the resort too? I thought your company was swamped."
Mortimer chuckled, "I've arranged everything at the company. I can take a few days off."
"You don't have to stay with me all the time."
"I'm not going to accompany you. I'm going to see Magnus and Soren. You can't stop me from seeing them, can you?"
Hearing this, Nora didn't continue to object.
Soren liked playing with Mortimer. After being away for so many days, bringing Mortimer back would make Soren happy.
Magnus also liked Mortimer. If Mortimer talked to Magnus every day, it might help him wake up faster.
The RV started moving.
At the resort, Nora arranged for Sophia's room to be in the courtyard next to hers, so she could quickly reach her if anything happened.
Although Sophia had been emotionally stable since waking up, Nora was still worried about her.
After all, she had gone through such a severe ordeal, hadn't seen her child since birth, and had suffered serious injuries herself.
Nora worried that Sophia was just pretending to be fine in front of her.
What she didn't know was that Sophia's happiness wasn't an act.
The sinful child was finally out of her body. She no longer had to endure the disgust of having it inside her. She was happier than anyone.
She didn't want to see that child at all.
Sophia even prayed that she would never see that child again.
Including Rylan.
Thinking this, Sophia felt very happy.
She could finally shake off that painful past.
From now on, she could live a clean life, letting that filthy experience be buried in the past.
"Sophia, just rest here and don't think too much. I'll be by your side," Nora comforted softly, holding Sophia's hand when she saw her looking lost.
Sophia came back to her senses and smiled, "Okay, I won't overthink or do anything rash. Don't worry."
Sophia was still recovering from childbirth and injuries, so she spent most of her time resting in bed.
Nora stayed with Sophia for a while. After she fell asleep, Nora went to Soren's courtyard to see her.
It was spring, and the flowers in the courtyard were blooming.
Soren was watering the flowers with the maid and trying to catch butterflies flying among the flowers, her face full of innocent joy.
Seeing this beautiful scene, Nora's heart softed.
She didn't disturb Soren but quietly took out her phone to capture the moment.
After playing for a while, Soren finally saw Nora standing at the courtyard gate.
She immediately ran towards her with short legs, excitedly.
"Mommy!"
Hearing the sweet call, Nora's smile widened. She quickly squatted down and hugged Soren's small body.
"Sweetie, Mommy missed you so much."
"I missed you too, Mommy," Soren said in a sweet childlike voice.
Nora was shocked, quickly pulling Soren back to look at her with surprise and joy, "Sweetie, can you hear me now?"
Soren smiled sweetly, her voice even sweeter, "Yes, Mommy, I can hear you!"
Nora was so excited that she trembled, tears welling up in her eyes as she hugged Soren tightly again.
"That's wonderful!"
Rhys had told her that while Soren had a good chance of recovery, it might take a long time, about six months to see significant improvement, and there was a high chance she might not fully recover.
She didn't expect Soren to hear so soon!
"Mrs. Porter, please keep it down. Miss Foster can hear now, but loud noises might overwhelm her and cause her to lose her hearing again," the maid reminded softly.
Nora nodded excitedly, lowering her voice, "Okay, I get it. I'll speak softly."
While Nora was visiting Soren, Mortimer went to see Magnus first.
Magnus was still in a coma, not waking up, but he had been transferred to a regular ward for observation.
Mortimer stood by the bed, coldly looking at Magnus. He smiled slightly and whispered to himself.
"Barrett, you should stay in a coma. It's better for everyone."
As long as Barrett never woke up, Nora would never forgive Isaac.
However, as soon as he finished speaking, Barrett's eyelids suddenly began to twitch.
