Chapter 376 Sneaking into Her Room
"Darling, what's wrong?" Isaac looked at Nora with hurt in his eyes and asked in a low voice.
Nora replied calmly, "Nothing."
Isaac asked, "Then why are you so distant from me? Did I do something wrong to make you angry?"
Nora said, "You're overthinking. I've always been like this."
Isaac squinted his eyes, "We've known each other for so many years, loved each other for so many years, don't you think I know how you usually are?"
Nora said, "People have many sides. I'm just showing you a side you haven't seen before."
Isaac's face darkened further, his deep eyes scrutinizing her.
Nora remained indifferent, no matter how he looked at her, her expression was unchanging.
Isaac felt a bit defeated and tried to reach for Nora's hand again.
But Nora put her hand behind her back.
Isaac's hand froze in mid-air.
He didn't pull his hand back, his deep eyes fell on his empty hand, and a self-mocking smile appeared on his face, "See, you won't even let me touch you, and you say you're not angry?"
Nora lowered her eyes slightly, her gaze also falling on his hand.
Isaac raised his hand, gently grabbed her shoulder, and with the other hand, lightly pinched her chin, forcing her to look up and meet his gaze.
"Darling, we agreed that no matter what happens in the future, we should speak out directly, not stay silent, not sulk."
"What's wrong with you? Tell me, please."
"You're treating me like this, it really hurts."
Nora's hand quietly clenched, a wave of frustration swirling in her chest.
She stared at Isaac.
After a long while, she spoke calmly, "What about you? Are you hiding something from me?"
Isaac's eyes flickered, a trace of guilt flashing in his eyes.
He shook his head tightly and said in a dry tone, "I have nothing to hide from you."
Nora let out a low laugh, full of mockery.
He asked her not to hide things from him, but what about himself?
He dated other women behind her back and lies to her, saying they are clients.
Now he had the nerve to accuse her of neglecting him, how dared he?
Nora didn't want to argue with him.
Even if she forced him to admit it, it would be meaningless.
After all, even if she won the argument, she had already signed a contract with him, been forced to swear an oath, she couldn't leave him.
She just needed to manage her own heart, control her emotions, and minimize her own hurt.
"Then I have nothing to hide from you either." Nora said calmly.
"Darling." Isaac's voice was full of helplessness.
Nora gently pushed his hand away, took two steps back, putting some distance between them, and looked up into his eyes, "I've been staying here with the kids in this estate. Your people are everywhere, they can see what I do every day. If you don't believe me, if you think I'm hiding something from you, you can ask your people."
Isaac's face darkened, "Do you have to be like this with me?"
Nora looked puzzled, "What do you mean? I'm not arguing with you, nor am I throwing a tantrum. Is that not okay?"
Isaac pressed his lips tightly.
Nora asked, "Then tell me, how do you want me to be? Give me a standard, and I'll act according to your standard."
Isaac's face turned even darker, anger burning wildly in his eyes.
He kicked over a nearby flower pot with force and stormed off in a rage.
Nora watched his back calmly. After he walked out of the courtyard, she calmly withdrew her gaze.
So the heart can really become numb.
In the past, his attitude could pierce her heart.
But now, knowing he was dating other women outside, pretending nothing happened in front of her, and acting like he loved her deeply, she felt surprisingly calm.
Nora quickly shifted her attention, focusing on the door of the examination room.
She was more concerned about Soren's condition now.
Nora waited anxiously at the door for nearly half an hour before the examination room door finally opened.
Nora immediately took a few steps forward.
At this moment, Isaac, who had left, also returned.
He walked up to Nora and was the first to ask Rhys, "How is it?"
Rhys smiled, "The recovery is good. She has reactions to sound stimuli, but she still can't hear normal speech. She needs further surgery."
"I didn't bring my assistant along. I'll prepare today, and you can send someone to pick up my assistant. We'll schedule the second surgery for Soren tomorrow."
Isaac nodded.
He immediately made a call, arranging for his men in the city to pick up Rhys's assistant and bring them to the estate.
After he finished the call, Nora had already taken Soren outside.
He quickly followed, squatted down, and picked up Soren.

Isaac said matter-of-factly, "How can holding my own daughter be a trouble? It only makes me happy."
Nora's heart skipped a beat, looking at Isaac in shock, a trace of panic in her eyes.
His daughter?
Did he know Soren's identity?
Isaac said, "Since she calls me daddy, she's my daughter. I promised you I would treat both kids well, as my own. I will keep my promise."
Nora quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
It seemed he was just treating Magnus and Soren as his own because of his promise, not because he knew their true identities.
That was good.
Isaac had other women outside, and he was only being nice to her to get back at her. She naturally didn't want him to know Magnus and Soren's true identities.
Even without Daxton's threat, she didn't want the kids to acknowledge Isaac now.
Nora collected her thoughts, glanced at Soren, who was smiling happily in Isaac's arms, and ultimately compromised, letting Isaac hold Soren.
Isaac took Soren to the study room, reading picture books with her.
Since Soren's hearing could be restored, there was no need for sign language classes.
Rhys had said that Soren could regain her hearing within six months, so there was no need to waste time and energy on sign language classes.
Seeing Soren and Isaac having so much fun, Nora didn't disturb them, silently watching from the side.
At night, Isaac took Magnus and Soren to the children's room, put them to sleep, and then sneaked into Nora's room.
