Chapter 455: A Woman Approached
Nora blushed and glared at him, both shy and annoyed, "Shut up, let's get down to business!"
Isaac chuckled, "As you wish!"
His fiery passion wrapped around her, drawing her in completely.
During this time, Isaac's phone rang multiple times, but he didn't answer.
An hour later, the doorbell rang.
"Someone's here." Nora tried to push him away, but Isaac pulled her back.
"Ignore it, let's continue, they can't get in," Isaac said breathlessly, not stopping his actions.
Outside, Wesley's anxious voice could be heard, "Mrs. Porter, are you home? Is Mr. Porter there? Mr. Porter needs to leave for his flight soon, time is running out."
Nora pinched Isaac, "Did you hear that? You're going to be late!"
Isaac lowered his head and kissed her lips, preventing her from speaking further.
It was only after ten minutes that Isaac released her lips.
Nora lay on the bed, exhausted, without the strength to even lift a finger.
Although this sex was short, he was especially passionate, and she still felt overly drained.
Isaac kissed her on the lips and gently said, "You rest well, I'm leaving. Once I'm on the cruise, my phone might not have a signal, so I won't be able to contact you. I'll come to see you as soon as I get back."
Nora, with her eyes closed, pushed him, "Hurry up! Wesley's about to lose it with worry."
Isaac chuckled, "I'm really leaving, aren't you going to open your eyes to see me? You won't see me for several days."
Nora whispered, "It's better not to see you, out of sight, out of mind!"
But she still opened her eyes.
As soon as she opened her eyes, she met his loving and longing gaze, making her heart race instantly.
Isaac chuckled softly, kissed her again, and reluctantly said, "I'm really leaving. Take good care of yourself at home. If you need anything, find Rhys and Griffin. If they can't solve it, find Grandpa, and Harold. You can find anyone I know."
Nora replied, "Got it, you're so naggy!"
Isaac said aggrievedly, "I just can't bear to leave you."
Nora's heart softened.
Isaac sighed and finally got up.
He stood by the bed, getting dressed, while Nora blushed and watched him.
After getting dressed, Isaac kissed her again before finally leaving the room.
Nora withdrew her gaze.
She seemed to have gotten used to Isaac being by her side.
Thinking about not seeing him for the next few days, she already felt a sense of emptiness.
Nora pulled the blanket over her head.
"You're not a teenager anymore, why are you still so lovesick? It's just a few days apart, you used to handle a whole year without him, it's fine!"
She slept again and woke up at noon.
After ordering takeout and having a simple lunch, she dialed Rhys's number.
"Nora? What's up?" Rhys asked.
Nora said, "Magnus has been sleeping restlessly at night. As soon as no one is around, he wakes up quickly and looks for someone. Even if I go to the bathroom at night, he wakes up and looks for me."
"I'm wondering, is this a sequela of his injury? Does it affect his health?"
Rhys replied, "I've checked his body, and he's physically fine."
"The problem you mentioned should be psychological."
Nora frowned, "Psychological?"
Rhys nodded, "Yes, he was frightened, leading to a lack of security and a strong dependence on you. So when you're not around, he feels uneasy."
Nora asked, "But every time I get up, he's asleep, yet he still senses I'm not there. Is that normal?"
Rhys laughed, "Why wouldn't it be? There's a telepathic connection between parents and children. He is fine, don't worry too much."
"This problem can be cured. Give him enough security, and he'll naturally get better."
Nora breathed a sigh of relief, "That's good, sorry to bother you."
After hanging up, Nora sat on the couch, deep in thought.
Sophia left her a lot of money, and she didn't want to waste it.
She wanted to invest it, make more money, and surprise Sophia when she returned.
If successful, she and Sophia would both be super-rich.
If it failed, she wouldn't starve.
In recent years, the entertainment industry has been booming, and she was interested in it.
She and Sophia had discussed it before.
But they didn't want to enter the entertainment industry themselves; they wanted to start their own company, be the bosses, sign artists, and invest in TV shows.
In addition to taking orders at the studio, Sophia also serialized comics online, and Nora was involved in the comic's plot.
They had thought about adapting the comic into a TV show.
A manager had contacted Sophia, expressing interest in buying the comic's TV rights.
But the offer was very low, only $100,000.
Sophia felt insulted and refused.
Now that they had enough money, the fire in Nora's heart was suddenly reignited.
Nora took out paper and pen and started writing a plan.
How much capital was needed to start the company, how many people to hire.
And after starting the company, how to develop it, etc.
Since she had researched before, planning wasn't difficult.
She had the money and the plan.
Now she just needed people.
She needed to find trustworthy and capable people for the management team so she could be a hands-off CEO.
She wanted to spend time with Magnus and Soren and didn't have much time for work.
Nora started looking for suitable candidates in her social circle.
After she and Isaac had a falling out and she went abroad, she lost contact with her old friends.
After returning, she only kept in touch with Sophia, not reconnecting with her old acquaintances.
After much thought, she contacted Isaac's cousin, Harold.
She used to have a good relationship with Harold.
Moreover, Harold was in the entertainment industry and could give her good advice.
Harold probably didn't attend the Maritime Commerce Convention this time.
He had an older brother, and the Whitaker family business was managed by his brother, who attended the Maritime Commerce Convention.
Nora dialed Harold's number, and he was indeed still in Aridonia.
When the call connected, Harold laughed, "It's rare, you still remember me."
"Tell me, what do you need?"
Nora said, "Harold, I want to start an entertainment company and need some advice."
Harold lazily laughed, "I knew it, you little ingrate, you wouldn't think of me unless you needed something."
Nora was taken aback.
After a moment of silence, Harold said, "Come to Moonlight Lounge, I'm here."
Nora: "Okay, I'll be right there."
Moonlight Lounge was Harold's business, and he practically treated the bar as his home, staying there or at a hotel most of the time.
Isaac said that Harold didn't have a good relationship with his family.
She didn't know the specifics.
Nora changed her clothes and drove to Moonlight Lounge.
It wasn't evening yet, so the bar was empty, and the main door was still closed. The side door was slightly open, probably left ajar by Harold's staff for her.
Nora walked in, and the manager greeted her with a yawn, "Mrs. Porter, good morning."
Nora had been here before with Isaac, so the manager recognized her.
Nora's mouth twitched, "Good morning."
The manager smiled, "Mr. Whitaker is waiting for you in private room number 1."
Nora nodded, thanked him, and headed over.
She knocked on the door of private room number 1 before pushing it open and walking in.
In the luxurious, palace-like private room, a few dim lights were on, and Harold was lying on the sofa, asleep.
He only sat up and adjusted his clothes after she walked in.
"Harold," Nora greeted politely.
Harold leaned back on the sofa and smiled, "Why did you suddenly decide to start your own company? Isn't Isaac giving you enough money?"
Nora replied, "I want to earn my own money."
Harold raised an eyebrow, "Isaac makes enough in a day to last you a lifetime. Why bother?"
Nora replied, "I'm just looking for something to do."
Harold said, "You could join the Porter Group and help Isaac a bit."
Nora shook her head, "I'm afraid of being used by others to go against Isaac. The scheming in big families is too complicated for me to handle."
Although Isaac was currently in charge of the Porter family, his uncles and cousins were still eyeing the position.
Given any opportunity, they would pounce to oust Isaac and take his place.
The position of the head of the Porter family was too tempting.
Sitting in that position allowed one to do things beyond the imagination of ordinary people.
Isaac was relatively clean and self-disciplined, not using his power and position to do anything outrageous.
Harold smiled, "Tell me your plan."
Nora took out the draft she had made at home.
She handed the draft to Harold and explained it as he looked it over.
Harold glanced at it and said, "Pretty professional. Looks like you've done your research."
Nora honestly said, "Yes, I discussed it with Sophia a few years ago."
After reading Nora's plan, Harold said, "Your overall plan is fine, but there are a few points to note..."
Nora listened carefully, asking for detailed explanations on things she didn't understand.
They discussed for a long time, and time flew by.
When they finished, Nora realized it was already past seven, almost eight.
Fortunately, her children had someone to pick them up.
Nora prepared to leave, "I've noted all your suggestions. I'll revise the plan and come back to you if I have any questions."
Harold said, "Alright, I can also introduce you to some people for staffing."
Nora was very grateful, "Thank you."
Harold smiled, "We're family, no need to be so formal."
He glanced at his watch, "It's dinner time. Want to grab a meal together?"
Nora shook her head, "No, I'll just grab a bowl of pasta outside and head back. I'll treat you to a meal another day."
Dining with him would mean hitting a fancy restaurant, which would take time for ordering and serving. By the time she got home, it would be almost midnight.
Although the nanny would take care of her children if she didn't come home, they would feel insecure if she returned too late. She needed to get back to them.
Harold stood up, "I'll join you for dinner outside."
Nora couldn't refuse, so they left the bar together and found a pasta place on the street, ordering two bowls of beef pasta.
After dinner, Harold wanted to drive Nora home.
Nora declined, "No need, I drove myself."
Harold raised an eyebrow, "Isaac finally let you learn to drive?"
Nora smiled awkwardly.
Back then, when she wanted to learn to drive, Isaac said that with him around, she would never need to drive and that he would be her driver for life, so she never learned.
"I'm leaving, goodbye!" Nora waved at him and went to the parking lot to drive away.
As she slowed down at the entrance of her neighborhood, she glanced in the rearview mirror and saw that Harold had followed her home.
Nora flashed her lights and honked to express her thanks.
Harold honked back and then turned his car around and left.
When she got home, Magnus and Soren immediately ran to her.
Nora picked up Magnus and Soren and kissed them each on the cheek.
"Mommy, where did you go? We've been waiting for you for so long," Soren asked, feeling aggrieved.
Nora apologized, "I was out discussing business. Have you had dinner?"
Soren nodded, "Yes, the nanny made us dinner!"
The nanny said, "Mrs. Porter, we saved you some food. If you haven't had dinner, you can eat first."
Nora replied, "Thank you, but I've already eaten outside. You can go home and rest now. Come back tomorrow morning."
The nanny nodded, "Alright, we'll leave then. Contact us anytime if you need anything."
Since the house was small, the two nannies didn't stay there.
After sending the nannies off, Nora told Magnus and Soren to wash up while she continued to work on her plan.
The next day, she took the revised plan to Harold again.
Harold, who hadn't slept all night, yawned as he discussed it with Nora.
For the next few days, Nora went to Harold every day to discuss the plan.
Harold had to adjust his schedule to normal hours.
Otherwise, with Nora visiting during the day, he wouldn't have time to sleep.
Because she was busy with this, Nora didn't have time to think about Isaac.
Meanwhile.
The cruise Isaac was on had been drifting in the Atlantic for three or four days.
His phone had completely lost signal.
The cruise ship had six levels and could accommodate thousands of people.
It had all kinds of entertainment facilities.
Some activities that were prohibited on land were available on the ship.
The banquet even had celebrities performing day and night.
Isaac wasn't interested in any of it.
Apart from business discussions, he spent his time alone, looking at photos and videos of Nora and the kids stored on his phone.
He was very worried about that Magnus's condition at home.
Although Magnus's condition had improved a bit recently, he was still concerned.
But now, with no way to contact anyone, he couldn't know how things were at home.
"Mr. Porter, why are you here alone? Want to join us for some fun?"
A seductive woman's voice came from behind him.
Camilla's body leaned against him, soft and pliable, pressing against him.
