Chapter 545 Her Sins Are Too Deep

Nora closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and said resolutely, "Get ready to act."

Mortimer's voice carried a hint of a smile, "Alright, I'll make the arrangements right away. You just stay home and take care of Magnus and Soren. Leave everything else to me, you don't need to worry."

Nora responded perfunctorily and hung up the phone.

That night, Mortimer didn't come home.

Nora didn't sleep at all, her mind was in turmoil.

The next morning, she woke up with noticeable dark circles under her eyes.

Magnus and Soren were very worried when they saw her.

Soren hugged her leg and asked worriedly, "Mommy, what's wrong? You look very unhappy."

Although Magnus didn't say anything, his eyes were full of concern.

Nora quickly composed herself and patted Magnus and Soren's heads, "I'm fine, you don't need to worry."

Magnus and Soren didn't ask further.

After having breakfast with the two children, Nora instructed the servants in the villa to take care of Magnus. She then took a few bodyguards and, as usual, took Soren to the hospital to see a psychologist for counseling.

After handing Soren over to the psychologist, Nora couldn't help but call Mortimer.

"Nora, what's wrong?"

"Did you catch them?"

"I've already arranged for it, but we need to find the right time to act. We can't make too much noise, or it will alert the police and cause trouble."

"Where do you plan to take them? Can I come and watch?"

Mortimer hesitated, "It's best if you don't get involved. If someone finds out, you'll be investigated too. Don't come along. After we handle this, I'll have someone take care of our call records from the past few days. Even if they find out that Daxton's incident is related to me, they won't trace it back to you."

Nora said, "I'm not afraid of being investigated. If you get caught, I won't be able to stay out of it. I'll turn myself in and say I commissioned you to do it. It won't take much to find out that I have a grudge against Daxton, while you don't. I have more motive."

Mortimer sighed, "Nora, why do you have to do this?"

Nora insisted, "Please, I want to see the people who hurt my child get punished with my own eyes."

Seeing her determination, Mortimer finally relented, "Alright, I'll send someone to pick you up. Where are you now?"

Nora gave him the address.

After hanging up, she instructed the bodyguards to watch over Soren and then went to wait at the hospital entrance.

The person picking her up arrived quickly.

Nora got in the car and they drove to the destination.

The car drove from the city to the outskirts, becoming more and more remote, until it stopped in front of an abandoned warehouse.

Nora got out of the car and saw Mortimer waiting at the door.

Seeing her, Mortimer sighed, "You really came. You should be with Magnus and Soren, not getting involved in this."

Nora said, "You don't understand. They wanted to kill my child. I can't let it go without seeing them punished."

Mortimer didn't say anything more, "Let's go inside. We've already caught them."

Nora was a bit surprised.

When they spoke on the phone, Mortimer said they hadn't acted yet. She didn't expect they would catch them so quickly.

Mortimer handed Nora a hat and a mask, "Put on the mask. Even though we don't plan to let them go, it's better to be cautious and not let them see our faces."

Nora nodded, took the hat and mask, and put them on.

Mortimer also put on an identical hat and mask.

Then they walked into the warehouse.

As soon as they entered, they heard sharp cursing.

"Do you know who I am? How dare you kidnap me? Are you tired of living? I am Sylvie Hansen, the head of the Hansen family. Let me go, or you and your families will be doomed!"

Sylvie's voice was full of anger.

As the head of the Hansen family, she had always been flattered and treated with respect before meeting Isaac.

But now, someone had the audacity to kidnap her and treat her so roughly. She was furious.

Daxton was relatively calm. He asked sternly, "Who ordered you to do this? Let us go, and we can give you money. No matter how much they paid you, I promise to give you three times as much if you let us go!"

No one responded.

Daxton gritted his teeth and continued, "Ten times! I'll give you ten times the money. I also promise not to report you to the police or seek revenge. Just let us go, and we'll pretend nothing happened!"

The offer was tempting, but still, no one spoke.

At that moment, another sharp female voice rang out, "You bastards, let me go! I am Isaac's fiancée, the heir to the Porter family. I'm pregnant with the next heir of the Porter family. If you dare to harm me, no matter where you run, the Porter family will find you and kill you all!"

"If you want to live, let me go immediately!"

"Going against the Porter family will not end well for you!"

"Let me go, and you might have a chance to survive!"

Hearing this voice, Nora stopped and turned to Mortimer, "Why did you bring Amara too?"

Although she hadn't seen her yet, she could tell it was Amara's voice.

Mortimer said, "When we went to catch them, Amara was with them. We had to bring her too. If we let her go, she would report to the police or seek Isaac's help. It would be hard for my people to take them away."

Nora frowned.

It’s not that she was noble, but although she had conflicts with Amara, those conflicts weren’t serious enough to warrant killing her. She didn’t want to drag Amara into it.

Moreover, Amara was pregnant, carrying an innocent life. As a mother, she couldn't bring herself to harm a pregnant woman.

Even though Amara was carrying Isaac's child, and she didn't like that child, it didn't mean she wanted the child to die.

Mortimer said softly, "Don't think Amara is innocent. Daxton and Sylvie targeted Soren because of Amara. They kidnapped Soren to remove obstacles for Amara, almost killing Soren."

"If it weren't for Amara, Soren wouldn't have been hurt. Ultimately, Amara is the root cause."

Nora said, "But she's pregnant. The child in her womb is innocent."

Mortimer replied, "And Soren isn't innocent? Soren did nothing wrong and was hurt, developing psychological issues. Does she deserve it?"

"If anything happens to Amara's child, it's her own fault. Her family's sins are too deep, and the retribution falls on her child. Her child is bearing part of her sins."
