Chapter 413: Actually Slept with Him for a Night
Rylan's pupils contracted as he looked at Sophia in shock.
He never expected Sophia to be so ruthless.
She actually said she wanted to commit suicide with the child!
"To say something like that about your own child, you are truly heartless," Rylan commented in a deep voice.
Sophia sneered, her heart filled with sarcasm and mockery.
Was Rylan really that stupid or just pretending?
It was obvious that she hated that child, didn't he know that?
A child she was forced to give birth to, and he still expected her to love him? Ridiculous!
Sophia didn't want to say anything more to him.
She lay down on the bed, pulled up the blanket, and closed her eyes. "Mr. Reed, please leave. If you insist on making me take care of the child, you can continue to use your old methods to threaten me. I will definitely compromise."
"But also, Mr. Reed, please check the risks of postpartum depression before you threaten me. If I am driven to postpartum depression and decide to die with the child, it won't just be a joke, it will become a reality."
Rylan's face darkened.
He glanced at Sophia, who didn't want to pay attention to him, and finally had to leave.
Sophia had just escaped danger and hadn't recovered yet; he couldn't argue with her.
When she felt better, her mood should improve too, and then he could have a proper talk with her.
After Rylan left, Sophia opened her eyes.
She stared blankly at the ceiling, her mind in turmoil.
She thought that once the child was born, everything would be over.
But why did Rylan still appear in front of her?
"Liars, nothing a capitalist says can be trusted!"
Sophia cursed softly a few times, and finally, because her body was too weak, she lost consciousness in a half-dazed state.
After a night of heavy drinking, Nora woke up with a pounding headache that felt like her skull was about to burst. It was swollen and hurt like crazy.
She lay there for a while before fully waking up.
Then she discovered Isaac lying next to her.
Nora's face darkened, and she slapped him directly on the face.
With the crisp sound of the slap, Isaac woke up from his dream.
He opened his sleepy eyes and looked at Nora, asking in a hoarse voice, "Honey, what's wrong?"
Nora asked with a stern face, "Why are you in my house? And sleeping in the same bed as me?"
Isaac explained innocently, "You got drunk last night, I brought you back, and you asked me to stay over."
Nora frowned, "I was clearly with Mortimer last night, how could it be you who brought me back?"
Isaac spoke without blushing, "I happened to pass by that bar, and when you saw me, you asked me to take you home. I had to cancel other plans to bring you back."
Nora's frown deepened, "How is that possible? How could I have asked you to take me home and let you stay over?"
Isaac shrugged, "That's the truth, otherwise why would I be in your house?"
Nora stared at him for a few seconds, then started looking for her phone.
"I don't believe you, I'm going to call Mortimer!"
Isaac's face stiffened.
Seeing her grab her phone, he confessed, "Don't ask, I forcibly took you away from Mortimer and brought you back."
Nora put down her phone, her face dark, her eyes filled with anger, "Isaac, can you act like a decent person for once?"
"You already have two fiancées, why are you still interfering in my life?"
Isaac explained, "Mortimer doesn't have good intentions for you. If you left with him drunk, he would take advantage of you."
Nora sneered, "Don't project your own filth onto others. Mortimer is not that kind of person!"
Isaac's face turned livid, "Don't think too highly of him, you don't know what he's done!"
Nora asked sarcastically, "Oh really? Then tell me, what has he done?"
Isaac pressed his lips tightly and replied nothing.
Mortimer had deliberately set up Magnus to be kicked by him, but even if he said it, Nora wouldn't believe it.
Nora had heard his conversation with Mortimer back then, but she didn't believe it was intentional on Mortimer's part. She just thought he was trying to shirk responsibility for his own mistakes.
He admitted he was wrong.
But Mortimer wasn't innocent either.
However, Nora wouldn't listen.
In Nora's eyes, Mortimer was a perfect gentleman who wouldn't do anything dirty.
No matter how Isaac explained, Nora wouldn't believe him.
"Got nothing to say, huh?" Nora sneered, "Stop slandering Mortimer. He always thinks of you and lets you have your way, yet you keep slandering him behind his back. Don't you feel shameless?"
Isaac's face turned livid.
Nora impatiently issued an eviction order, "Get out of here, go back to your fiancées, before they find out you were with me and accuse me of seducing you!"
The thought of spending the night with him made her angry.
Even though nothing happened, she still felt repulsed.
He had already brought two women home, who knows what they had done. He was already tainted, and the thought of it disgusted her.
Isaac looked at her deeply.
"What are you looking at? Get out!" Nora snapped at him.
Isaac withdrew his gaze, silently got up, and walked out of the room.
Nora went to the bathroom and scrubbed herself all over in disgust.
When she finished and came out of the room, she found a glass of juice on the table in the living room.
It was tomato juice.
Clearly, Isaac had made it and left it there.
Nora walked around the house, learning Isaac was already gone.
She returned to the living room and looked at the glass of tomato juice, feeling conflicted.
"He really is a bastard. He already has two fiancées, yet he still comes to bother me. Two lovers aren't enough for him, he wants a third?"
"I've seen bastards before, but never one as bad as him!"
Nora cursed for a while, then drank the tomato juice.
The ingredients for the juice were from her house, so she was drinking her own stuff, not accepting Isaac's favor!
After drinking the juice, Nora's stomach felt better, and her head felt clearer.
Then, Nora went to the hospital to see Sophia.
The moment she saw Sophia, Nora was shocked.
"How did you get so much worse in just one night?" Nora sat by the bed and touched Sophia's cheek with concern.
Sophia looked extremely tired, lifeless, a stark contrast to her state when Nora left yesterday.
Yesterday she seemed full of energy, but today she looked like a soulless husk.
Sophia forced a smile and weakly replied, "I'm fine, don't worry too much."
"Nora, when are we leaving? I don't want to stay in this hospital anymore, I feel so oppressed here."
Rylan and Lena's visit last night had affected her.
Sophia hadn't slept all night, her heart filled with pent-up anger, making every breath painful.
She wanted to leave here to avoid Rylan coming again.
Even if Rylan never came again, the fact that he had been here made her feel the air was dirty.
