Chapter 518 Force Him to Take Responsibility
Isaac's face was grim, exuding a chilling aura. Veins bulged on his forehead as he glared angrily at Mortimer.
Mortimer chuckled, "You're the one who did wrong, you're the one unfaithful to your marriage, and you're the one who let Nora down. But now you're taking your anger out on me. Isaac, with the way you are, you really don't deserve Nora's love."
Isaac roared in fury, "Shut up! Whether I deserve Nora or not is between me and her, not for you to decide!"
Mortimer let out a low laugh and said, "But I think Nora has already lost much of her hope for you. Otherwise, she wouldn't have contacted me instead of you to bring Magnus to the hospital today when she couldn't drive alone."
Isaac's heart clenched tightly, a wave of panic surging within him.
He felt that Nora was drifting away from him.
Mortimer said, "If you still have any feelings for Nora, let her go. Let her pursue her happiness and stop clinging to her."
"Besides, the woman by your side is carrying your baby. You should be responsible for her and the baby."
"Don't let down two women and end up with nothing."
After saying this, Mortimer turned and left without waiting for Isaac's response, heading to catch up with Nora.
Isaac's eyes were fixed on Mortimer's retreating figure.
Amara gently tugged on Isaac's sleeve and said softly, "Isaac, let's go back. People passing by are watching us."
Because they were standing right at the entrance, and Isaac looked like he was ready to kill, passersby didn't dare approach but kept glancing at them.
Some even went to notify the hospital staff to keep an eye on him, wondering if he was there to cause trouble.
Isaac took a deep breath, suppressing his anger, and walked out of the hospital with a stern face.
Amara struggled to keep up with his pace, but seeing Isaac's furious expression, she didn't dare to speak and provoke him.
Even though Isaac needed the baby she was carrying, she didn't dare to anger him in his rage. What if he lost control and accidentally hurt her and the baby?
Isaac personally drove Amara back to the villa.
The whole way, neither of them spoke.
Amara tried to break the silence, but as soon as she opened her mouth, she could feel his aura becoming even more dangerous and cold, scaring her into silence.
After arriving home, Isaac went up to the third floor to check on Magnus. After spending some time with him, he went downstairs, ready to leave.
Amara had been waiting for Isaac in the living room. Seeing him come down, she quickly got up and walked to him.
Isaac, feeling annoyed, sidestepped her and headed out.
Amara grabbed his hand, "Isaac, can you not leave? I just got back from the hospital. Aren't you worried about me and the baby? Can you stay with me?"
Isaac said coldly, "Let go."
Amara trembled in fear but didn't let go.
She said aggrievedly, "Isaac, you promised to spend more time with me. But you just said it, and now it doesn't count?"
Isaac said, "I'm in a bad mood right now. Staying here isn't good for you or the baby."
Amara bit her lip and asked, "Isaac, didn't you divorce your ex-wife? Why did that person at the hospital say you're still entangled with her?"
Isaac's aura suddenly turned icy.
Amara said aggrievedly, "Isaac, you haven't divorced your wife, have you?"
Isaac didn't answer.
Tears instantly fell from Amara's eyes as she choked out, "Why haven't you divorced her? Is it because she doesn't want to, or you don't want to?"
Isaac replied coldly, "That's my business, not yours."
Amara said emotionally, "How is it not my business? I'm carrying your baby. You promised to marry me, but you haven't divorced your wife!"
"What am I? What is my baby?"
"If you don't divorce your wife, in others' eyes, I'm just a mistress, and my baby is illegitimate!"
"I don't want my baby to be born with such a disgraceful reputation!"
Amara became more emotional and aggrieved as she spoke, tears streaming down her face.
"I'm the daughter of the Hansen family, not a woman from a low-status family. If people find out that a Miss of the Hansen family is a mistress and has an illegitimate child, what will happen to my reputation? What about the Hansen family's reputation?"
Isaac said coldly, "You schemed to get pregnant with my baby, I didn't force you!"
Although he didn't find evidence of who drugged him on the cruise ship, Amara ended up in his bed and got pregnant with his baby, so she was involved.
Even if she didn't drug him, she took the opportunity to sleep with him.
Amara cried and laughed, "Isaac, you're so heartless. No matter how I got pregnant, the baby in my belly is yours. Don't you have any feelings for him? You're so gentle with your wife's child, even though he's disabled, you still care for him. Why can't you show a little care and gentleness to my baby?"
"Shut up!" Isaac roared, his icy gaze warning her, "If I hear you insult Magnus again, I won't let you off!"
Amara's tears flowed even more, her heart aching unbearably.
She loved him so much, why was he so cruel to her? He was so heartless!
Amara said heartbrokenly, "Fine, if you dislike my baby so much, I'll just let him die!"
After saying this, Amara suddenly turned and rushed towards the staircase railing, intending to hit her belly.
Isaac's eyes darkened, and he quickly rushed over, grabbing her hand and pulling her back.
"Let go of me! You don't like me or my baby, and you won't give us a proper status. Why should I keep him? As a Miss of the Hansen family, I can't be a mistress and have an illegitimate child. I can't bring shame to my family!"
Amara cried hysterically, struggling to hit her belly.
But she was weak, and Isaac held her with one hand, making it impossible for her to break free.
Isaac said coldly, "Calm down. I will take responsibility for the baby."
Amara questioned, "What about me? Will you take responsibility for me as well as the baby?"
Thinking back, Amara realized that Isaac had always said he would take responsibility for the baby, but never for her.
He was truly despicable.
