Chapter 407: "I am Isaac's fiancée, who are you?"

"We're friends, and friends look out for each other. Isn't that how it's supposed to be? Are you afraid of troubling me because you don't see me as a friend?" Nora said angrily.

Sophia held Nora's hand and said, aggrieved, "I'm sorry, I was wrong. You're my best and favorite friend. Even if I don't see myself as a person, I would never not see you as a friend!"

Nora was amused by Sophia's words and couldn't help but tap her forehead. "Since you're so sincere and you're a patient, I'll forgive you this time. But don't do it again!"

Sophia smiled and promised, "Okay, I'll think of you in everything I do from now on. Whenever something comes up, I'll trouble you, and you can't find me annoying."

Nora laughed, "I won't find you annoying."

Sophia added, "But you have to promise me that if something happens to you, you'll let me know. Even though I'm not as capable as you, I might not be able to help much, but I can curse the bad guys for you!"

Nora suddenly felt a bit guilty.

She had been on the brink of death several times and didn't want Sophia to worry or take risks for her, so she hadn't told her the truth.

She felt she had no right to blame Sophia.

Nora took care of Sophia in the hospital for three days.

During those three days, the resort called her several times a day via video.

On the other end of the video, Soren looked at the camera with tears in her eyes, not making a fuss, even crying silently, which made Nora's heart ache.

For Soren, there was no one familiar at the resort. She was young and lacked a sense of security, so it was normal for her to feel aggrieved.

Nora could only comfort her, saying she would be back soon.

After three days, seeing that Sophia's health had improved significantly, Nora apologized to her, "Sophia, I have important things to do and might not be able to stay with you every day."

Sophia asked, puzzled, "What is it? Do you need help?"

Nora hesitated for a moment, "I need to accompany Magnus and Soren. They are both injured and recuperating at the resort. Do you want to come with me? That way, I can be with all three of you at the same time!"

"The resort has a great environment, complete facilities, and even a hospital. It would be very beneficial for your recovery!"

The more Nora thought about it, the more feasible it seemed.

Of course, the most important thing was Sophia's willingness.

If Sophia didn't want to go, she wouldn't force her.

"Sure." Sophia agreed without hesitation.

Nora spoke happily, "Then I'll make arrangements right away, and we'll go to the resort tomorrow!"

Sophia nodded with a smile.

Seeing Nora happy, she felt great too.

Nora immediately contacted Isaac and told him her plan.

Isaac naturally wouldn't refuse her request and even prepared the necessary supplies for Sophia, along with a few servants to take care of her.

Before leaving, Nora decided to go back to Isaac's villa to get her paintings to take to the resort.

She needed to stay at the resort for a long time, and although the paintings weren't due yet, she couldn't leave them unfinished.

Nora didn't trust anyone else to handle it, fearing they might damage her paintings and tools, so she decided to go back and sort everything out herself.

In the evening, after having a light dinner with Sophia, she drove back to Isaac's villa.

When she walked into the villa, Kieran saw her and looked surprised and flustered. "Mrs. Porter? Why are you back? Why didn't you give us a heads-up?"

Nora frowned, "Did Isaac say I couldn't come back?"

Kieran replied awkwardly, "Not exactly."

Nora nodded, "Good. I'm here to get some things. I'll leave as soon as I have them and won't stay long."

With that, she prepared to walk inside.

But Kieran blocked her way.

She moved left, and Kieran moved left.

She moved right, and he mirrored her again.

Nora's face darkened. "Kieran, what do you mean by this? Since you said Isaac didn't order me not to come back, why won't you let me in?"

Kieran looked troubled.

He didn't know how to explain.

Nora was getting impatient. "If you can't give me a reason, then move aside. I'll leave as soon as I get my things!"

Kieran still blocked her way, not daring to let her in.

"Mrs. Porter, what do you need? Tell me, and I'll get it for you. You can rest in the car." Kieran said stiffly.

Nora responded, "I need to get my paintings from the studio. You don't have the key, and I don't trust you to handle my paintings. I'll get them myself."

She was getting impatient and directly pushed Kieran aside, striding into the living room.

As she was about to go upstairs, a woman's voice came coldly from the direction of the dining room.

"Who are you? Why are you here?"

Nora stopped and turned to see a young woman with a cold demeanor walking towards her, full of hostility.

Nora frowned at the woman. "Who are you? Why are you here?"

Liora raised her chin slightly. "This is my fiancé's house. Isn't it reasonable for me to live here with him?"

Nora's pupils contracted.

Fiancée?

When did Isaac get a fiancée?

Nora suddenly remembered the photo Mortimer had sent her of Isaac dining with a strange woman at a couple's restaurant.

She didn't expect him to bring that woman home.

He sent her and the two kids to the resort to make space for this woman, didn't he?

"Now it's your turn to answer me. Who are you, and why are you in my fiancé's house?" Liora squinted her eyes, scrutinizing Nora.

Liora suddenly found this woman somewhat familiar.

She looked a bit like Isaac's son.

Liora was shocked.

Could this woman be Barrett's biological mother?

Although Barrett looked a lot like Isaac, there was a slight resemblance between his features and this woman.

The more she looked, the more she felt they looked alike.

The more Liora thought about it, the more convinced she became that her suspicions were spot on. Her heart sank, and a surge of jealousy and a sense of crisis burned within her.

This woman had some beauty, and she had children with Isaac. Was it possible that Isaac still had feelings for her and was secretly involved?

Isaac was hers, and she would never allow any woman to take him away!

Nora shot back sarcastically, "Aren't you Isaac's fiancée? Why don't you go ask him yourself?"

She didn't want to waste any more breath on Liora and started walking upstairs.

The problem was with Isaac, and talking to this woman wouldn't help. It would just be a pointless drain on her time and energy.

Even if she argued with this woman, it wouldn't change the fact that Isaac had betrayed her, so why waste the effort?

"Stop right there and explain yourself!"
