Chapter 309 Isaac Saw Soren's Face
"What happened?" Nora immediately rushed into the living room.
When she entered the living room, she saw Soren lying on the floor, crying loudly. And beneath her head, there was a pool of blood!
Nora's breath caught, and she hurried to find the first aid kit, pressing gauze against the wound on the back of Soren's head.
Then she picked Soren up, intending to take her to the hospital.
But when she turned and saw Magnus, she hesitated. She was afraid that something might happen to Magnus alone at home.
She had to contact the property management first, asking them to guard the door and make sure Magnus didn't run out.
Then, on her way to the hospital with Soren, she called Isaac, asking him to send someone to look after Magnus.
By the time she reached the hospital entrance, Isaac was already waiting there. Seeing her, he strode over and took Soren from her arms. "What happened?" He asked as he held Soren.
Nora shook her head.
Isaac took Soren directly to Rhys's office.
"What happened?" Rhys asked in surprise upon seeing the situation.
Isaac said, "Don't ask too many questions, just help her with the wound first."
Rhys said, "Got it."
Soren lay in Isaac's arms, crying loudly.
Nora's heart broke at the sound, but she didn't dare touch her, fearing it would hurt her.
Isaac, despite his dislike for Soren's identity, felt his heart clench at her cries. He gently comforted, "Don't cry, it's okay now."
Soren continued to cry, her small body shaking with sobs.
Rhys quickly brought the tools and examined the wound on the back of Soren's head. "It looks like she fell and hit a knife, causing a cut. The wound is a bit long, she'll need to have her hair shaved and get some stitches."
Nora's eyes welled up with tears again, but she held them back and asked Rhys to quickly treat Soren's wound.
Rhys administered anesthesia to Soren before starting to treat the wound. To minimize the impact on her appearance, he only shaved a small amount of hair. Then he cleaned the wound, stitched it up, applied medication, and finally bandaged it.
Due to the anesthesia, Soren didn't feel any pain and stopped crying. She seemed to like being in Isaac's arms.
"Soren, tell me, what happened? Did you fall accidentally or..." Nora asked. She didn't want to suspect Magnus. But his recent behavior made it hard not to.
Moreover, when she reached Soren, she saw Magnus indifferently playing with his toys nearby. Soren was lying in front of him, crying loudly with blood flowing, yet he was not caring at all. Her well-behaved and sensible Magnus, how did he become like this?
Although Soren had stopped crying, her voice was still heavy with sobs. "Magnus, it was Magnus who pushed me."
Nora had considered this possibility and was mentally prepared, but hearing this still felt like a needle piercing her heart. "What happened exactly? Tell me everything that happened."
She decided to understand the whole situation before making a judgment.
What if they had some conflict? She instinctively rejected the idea that Magnus harbored such malice towards his own sister. There must be a reason.
Soren said, "I saw Magnus playing a game alone, and I wanted to play with him like we used to, so I went to him and asked to play together. But he didn't say a word and just pushed me down." At this point, her tears started to flow again.
With red eyes and choking sobs, she continued, "Mommy, Magnus is so bad. I don't like him anymore. I won't play with him again!"
Nora's heart tightened painfully. She wanted to say something good about Magnus but couldn't find the words.
She hoped Magnus and Soren could get along well. But now, Magnus had already hurt Soren, and she couldn't ask Soren to treat Magnus the same as before.
"Mommy, I'm hungry," Soren said.
Nora replied, "Wait a moment, I'll go get you something to eat."
Isaac said, "Don't go out to buy food. Let's take her to my place, and I'll cook for her."
Nora hesitated.
Isaac said, "It's best to keep them apart for a while."
Nora paused.
She pondered, 'Magnus's recent emotional instability indeed made it unsuitable for them to stay together. Especially since Soren had just been pushed by him. Soren's emotions hadn't completely calmed down, and seeing Magnus might agitate her. Moreover, she wasn't sure if Magnus would hurt Soren again.'
After thinking for a moment, Nora agreed to Isaac's suggestion and went with him, taking Soren to his place.
Once home, Isaac handed Soren to Nora and went to the kitchen to make dinner.
Soren, possibly still shaken from the injury, clung tightly to whoever held her, afraid of being abandoned.
Nora felt heartbroken seeing Soren seeking protection like this. She felt guilty for not being able to protect her children.
Now, with Magnus's drastic change in behavior and Soren feeling unsafe, she was at a loss.
Isaac prepared dinner quickly.
During dinner, he took the initiative to hold Soren. "I'll feed her. You eat first."
Nora wanted to say she could feed Soren, but Soren had already opened her arms and leaned into Isaac's embrace.
Nora swallowed her words.
After dinner, as the anesthesia on Soren's head wore off, the pain set in, and she started to cry. "Mommy, my head hurts."
Nora's eyes filled with tears, but she could only tell her to bear with it.
Soren cried for over three hours before finally falling asleep from exhaustion.
Nora sighed silently and carried her to the bedroom. She was about to lay Soren on the bed but realized she couldn't let her lie flat due to the head injury, so she had to lay her on her side, which would make her face uncomfortable for the mask.
She hesitated for a moment, then removed the mask from Soren's face and carefully placed her on the bed.
After settling Soren, she looked up and saw Isaac had entered the room at some point and was staring intently at Soren's face.
