Chapter 496: Seeing Isaac with a Pregnant Woman
This time, Magnus had a nosebleed that lasted even longer, almost an hour before it finally stopped.
The nosebleed stained six towels red in total.
When the bleeding stopped, Magnus was very pale and lay lifelessly in Nora's arms.
Nora touched his hand, which was as cold as ice.
"Mommy, what's wrong with Magnus? Why did Magnus bleed so much?"
Soren cried loudly in fear, his small body trembling constantly.
She was both worried and scared, crying her heart out.
She reached out and grabbed Magnus's arm, gently shaking it, "Magnus, don't sleep, talk to me, okay?"
But at this moment, Magnus was groggy, his consciousness drifting, unable to answer her questions or talk to her.
Nora's nose tingled, and her eyes filled with tears.
She stood up holding Magnus and said to Soren, "Soren, head over to the left drawer in the bedroom and get my driver's license. I need to take Magnus to the hospital, and you're coming with us."
Isaac wasn't home, and the nanny had already been sent away. It wasn't bedtime yet, and she didn't feel safe leaving Soren at home alone, so she had to take her along.
Magnus's current condition was a symptom of excessive blood loss and needed a blood transfusion at the hospital.
"Okay, I'll get it right away!"
Soren wiped her tears and quickly ran into the bedroom with her short legs.
Nora also hurried to the entrance to change her shoes and grab the car keys.
When Soren brought out her driver's license, she had Soren put on her shoes, and the three of them went out together.
She took the kids to the parking lot, found her car, and placed them in the child seats in the back.
Magnus was still unconscious.
Nora said to Soren, "Keep an eye on Magnus. If you notice anything unusual, let me know right away."
Soren nodded timidly, "Okay, I'll watch Magnus."
"Mommy, Magnus will be okay, right?"
Nora forced a smile, "Don't worry, Magnus will be fine."
She didn't say anything more, quickly drove towards the hospital.
The car was very quiet on the way, with only the occasional sound of Soren sniffling.
When they arrived at the hospital entrance, Nora parked the car, immediately got out holding Magnus, and took Soren's hand, heading straight to the emergency room.
When meeting the doctor, Nora said, "My child has been under Dr. Hawkins' care. He has already provided a treatment plan. Now, my child has lost too much blood from a nosebleed and needs a blood transfusion. You can check his medical records."
The doctor immediately showed respect upon hearing Rhys's name.
He quickly checked Magnus's medical records on the computer and found that Nora was telling the truth. Rhys had indeed written a treatment plan, instructing other doctors to give a blood transfusion if there was blood loss, without treating other symptoms.
The doctor immediately issued a blood transfusion order.
Since Isaac had already arranged for a special storage of Magnus's blood type at the hospital when Rhys provided the treatment plan, there was no shortage of blood.
As long as Magnus needed it, he could get a blood transfusion at any time.
After getting the order, Nora took Magnus and Soren to pay the fee.
After paying, as she was about to take the kids to the ward to wait for the blood transfusion, Nora saw a familiar figure in the distant corridor.
That figure was Isaac!
Nora froze in place.
Isaac wasn't alone.
There was a woman beside him.
The woman had a slight bump in her belly, and she walked carefully, clearly pregnant.
Because it was quiet at night, even from a distance, Nora could hear their conversation.
Amara said softly, "I'm sorry, Isaac. I didn't mean to make a fuss. I didn't know it was just a stomach upset. I thought something happened to our baby."
"It's my first pregnancy, and I'm completely clueless, which is why I messed up."
Isaac's face was stern, and he didn't say anything.
Amara continued, "Isaac, the doctor said I am too anxious and need to relax for the baby's development."
"The reason for my anxiety, Isaac, you know, is because you spend too little time with me. I worry about you every day, and it just makes my anxiety worse."
"Isaac, I know you're busy with work, and I don't want to cling to you."
"But, after all, I'm carrying your baby. For the baby's sake, can you spend some time with me every day?"
"I really don't want our baby to have problems when it's born."
Isaac finally spoke, his voice deep and emotionless, "Okay, you go back first."
Amara looked delighted, "Isaac, did you agree? Thank you. The baby will be very happy knowing you want to spend time with him. When he arrives, he will definitely be very lively!"
"The doctor said that a mother's emotions during pregnancy affect the baby's personality."
"Isaac, when you're with me, I'm happy, and when I'm happy, the baby is happy too!"
Nora's face turned pale upon hearing their conversation.
Isaac not only had a mistress, but that mistress was also pregnant!
She took a closer look and realized that the woman was one of the two women who had lived in his villa.
At that time, both women claimed to be Isaac's fiancées.
Now it seemed they weren't lying.
Isaac probably wanted to choose one of them to be his fiancée, so he had them both live with him to pick the one he liked the most.
After all this time, this woman had not only won but was also pregnant.
Judging by the size of her belly, she must have been pregnant for more than three or four months.
Nora couldn't help but laugh at herself.
Isaac had said he had no feelings for those two women and had other reasons for bringing them home.
She had foolishly believed him.
When she heard he was set up on the yacht, she even felt sorry for him.
Now, thinking back, she realized how stupid she had been!
Even without anyone setting him up, he had a mistress.
She cursed inwardly, 'Isaac, you're quite the actor!'
Nora bit her lip hard, forcing back the tears in her eyes.
She couldn't lose her composure, and she definitely couldn't cry for that scumbag!
"Mommy, I think I heard Daddy's voice."
Soren, who had been looking up at Magnus, suddenly frowned in confusion.
As she spoke, she slowly turned around, trying to look in the direction of the voice.
Nora quickly turned her back, walked in front of Soren, blocking her view, and whispered, "You heard wrong, it just sounds similar, it's not your daddy."
Soren tilted her head, "But..."
Nora interrupted her, "No buts, there are many people in the world who look and sound alike. It's normal to run into a few who sound similar."
"Come on, let's go to the ward to give Magnus a blood transfusion. That's the most important thing right now."
Soren immediately refocused and nodded vigorously.
Nora carried Magnus and led Soren to the private infusion ward.
Soren couldn't help but turn her head to look back.
When she turned, she only saw the figures of a man and a woman walking out of the hospital.
The man's back looked a lot like her father's.
But Nora said there were many people in the world who looked alike, so maybe that man just had a similar back.
Otherwise, why would her father be with another woman?
Her daddy was the best daddy in the world and loved mommy the most. He couldn't possibly be with another woman.
Soren withdrew her gaze and followed Nora into the infusion ward.
Nora placed Magnus on the hospital bed.
The nurse quickly brought a blood bag and, under the doctor's supervision, inserted the transfusion needle into Magnus.
Nora and Soren watched Magnus anxiously by the bedside.
Nora couldn't help but reach out and touch Magnus's pale, bloodless face.
Magnus's symptoms were getting worse day by day, and Rhys kept delaying Magnus's treatment. How long would it take for Rhys to develop the medicine and start treating Magnus?
Watching Magnus suffer from the disease every day was like a knife to her heart. She wished she could take his place.
"Mommy, what's wrong with Magnus?" Soren blinked her big eyes, looking at Magnus and then at Nora.
Magnus was suddenly taken out of school by her parents and then didn't go back to school.
But Nora never told her why Magnus wasn't going to school.
Before today, she hadn't seen Magnus have a nosebleed.
Seeing Magnus bleed so much today really scared her. She was worried and afraid.
She guessed that Magnus might have a serious illness.
Her parents not letting Magnus go to school must also be because of his illness.
But what exactly was wrong with Magnus?
Was there any hope for Magnus?
Thinking of this, Soren's eyes turned red, and the tears that had just stopped not long ago started flowing again.
"Mommy, why is Magnus sick? Wasn't he just fine? Why is he sick again? Illness is a bad guy, always tormenting Magnus."
Soren cried so hard she couldn't catch her breath.
Nora hugged Soren, gently patting her back, and comforted her softly, "Don't cry, Mr. Hawkins has already found a treatment method. He just hasn't finished making the medicine yet, but it's nearly done. Soon, Magnus will be fine."
Soren lifted her head from her embrace, looking at her with tearful eyes, "Really? Mommy, you're not lying to me, right?"
Nora smiled, "Why would I lie to you about something like this?"
"If Magnus had no hope, I would be crying harder than you. Look how calm I am now."
Soren finally smiled through her tears and hugged her happily.
"Mommy, when Magnus gets better, I want to take him to exercise. My teacher said that exercising makes the body strong and prevents illness!"
Nora smiled and nodded, "Okay, I'll exercise with you both. Our whole family will be healthy."
Soren said, "Okay, and daddy too. Let's bring daddy along!"
Nora's smile froze instantly, and her mood soured.
"Mommy, why do you get unhappy when you hear daddy's name?" Soren asked in confusion.
Nora composed herself and smiled again, "No, I just think he's very busy with work and might not have time to exercise with us."
"Alright, let's not talk anymore. We don't want to disturb Magnus's rest."
She was worried Soren would continue mentioning Isaac, and she wouldn't be able to maintain her composure, so she ended the conversation directly.
As soon as Magnus was mentioned, Soren indeed stopped talking.
The two quietly watched over Magnus in the ward.
Halfway through the blood transfusion, Magnus woke up and kept apologizing to Nora.
"I'm sorry, mommy, for causing you trouble again." Magnus looked dejected.
Nora ruffled his hair and said helplessly, "I told you, it's not your fault. You don't need to feel guilty. If anyone should apologize, it's me for not taking good care of you and not giving you a healthy body."
Magnus pursed his lips, still looking gloomy.
Nora continued, "Alright, don't think too much. You need to stay positive. Once Mr. Hawkins develops the medicine, you'll recover."
"If you really feel guilty, you should stay positive and get better as soon as possible!"
Magnus nodded vigorously.
By the time Magnus finished the blood transfusion, Soren had fallen asleep.
Nora wanted to wake her up, but Magnus stopped her, "Mommy, you carry Soren. I can walk by myself."
Nora was a bit worried, "Are you sure? Are you still dizzy? Does your body hurt?"
Magnus shook his head, "I'm not dizzy anymore, and my body doesn't hurt. I can walk by myself."
Seeing that his face had regained its color and showed no signs of abnormality, Nora picked up Soren and had Magnus walk in front of her so she could keep an eye on him.
When they got home, Soren woke up.
"Mommy, I'm hungry."
As soon as Soren woke up, she clutched her growling stomach in distress.
Magnus's stomach also growled.
Nora smiled, "Alright, you two wait here. I'll make dinner for you now!"
Magnus and Soren nodded vigorously.
Nora went to the kitchen.
Soren immediately leaned close to Magnus's ear and whispered like a thief, "Magnus, I have a secret to tell you."
"What secret?" Magnus asked curiously.
Soren replied, "Let's go to the room and talk. Don't let mommy hear. If mommy knows, she'll be sad!"
Magnus nodded.
The kids held hands and tiptoed into the room, closing the door behind them.
As soon as the door closed, Magnus asked curiously, "Tell me, what's the secret?"
