Chapter 177 Nora Takes Action

The few people turned pale with fear, their faces full of terror and panic.

The Porter Family was loaded, with tons of businesses not just in Aridonia but all over Austoria.

Many of the high-end venues were part of their vast portfolio. Being blacklisted by the Porter family was tantamount to being cast out of elite society.

"Mr. Porter, I'm sorry, we shouldn't have spoken recklessly. I apologize and promise to be more careful with my words in the future, and not gossip about others!"

"Mr. Porter, please give us a chance!"

"Sorry, Mr. Porter, we were wrong."

Everyone quickly apologized and begged for mercy.

But Isaac didn't budge, walking through the crowd with a stern face.

He paused slightly when he passed by Nora.

Yet, he said nothing, his frosty demeanor leading him into the ballroom.

Wesley had already entered with bodyguards, beginning to escort the unwanted guests out.

"We just talked about Nora a bit, why is Mr. Porter so angry?"

"Nora betrayed Mr. Porter. If Mr. Porter heard someone badmouthing Nora, shouldn't he be happy?"

"Could it be that Mr. Porter still has feelings for Nora?"

"Impossible, if Mr. Porter still had feelings for Nora, why would he divorce her and get engaged to Kalista?"

"Then what is it?"

No one could figure out why Isaac was so mad.

Nora couldn't understand either.

She looked at Isaac's back, feeling very conflicted.

She wondered, 'Was Isaac defending me?'

'If Isaac knows I came today to ruin his engagement, will he still help me?'

"Let's go," Mortimer said softly, giving Nora a gentle pat on the back.

Nora snapped out of it and continued walking inside.

Mortimer deliberately lagged behind, took out his phone, and sent a message to Alaric: [Cut out the tongues of those people Wesley drove out.]

After sending it, he put away his phone and looked up for Nora, but she was already out of sight.

Mortimer's heart sank suddenly.

"Where does Nora go?"

At this moment, Nora had already walked to the resting area at the back of the banquet hall.

There were many rooms here.

Changing rooms and makeup rooms were among them.

Nora was determined to find Kalista.

Her plan was to knock Kalista out and sabotage the engagement party tonight.

As for getting Kalista out of Isaac's life and dealing with her pregnancy, she'd tackle those problems later.

For now, her focus was on tonight.

Just then, Kalista, wearing a flashy red dress, walked out of a room.

As soon as she saw Nora, a smirk of mockery spread across her face.

"Didn't expect you to actually come."

Nora's gaze was icy as she moved steadily toward Kalista, saying nothing.

Kalista crossed her arms, looking proud and smug. "It's just as well you're here. Watch closely while I show you what it's like to be with Isaac!"

At this moment, Nora had already walked up to Kalista and stopped.

Kalista, seeing the grim expression on Nora's face and the gloomy look in her eyes, mistook it for jealousy and anger.

She continued to mock, "Nora, in the end, you still lost to me. From now on, I will be the high and mighty Mrs. Porter of the Porter Family. When you see me, you will have to greet me respectfully. You will never be arrogant in front of me again!"

Kalista's excitement grew with every thought.

She was only engaged to Isaac now, but once they were married, she planned to get rid of Nora and Mortimer right away.

That would secure her position and ensure no one could threaten her status or ruin her happiness.

"Do you really think you've won?" Nora said, her voice cold and calm.

Kalista sneered, "Of course, Isaac is about to get engaged to me. Do you think you can still take him away?

"Stop dreaming. Isaac doesn't like you at all. He despises you. No matter what tricks you use, he will never be interested in you!"

Nora replied calmly, "I never thought of taking him away, but don't think you can get engaged to him either."

Kalista's face darkened. "What do you mean by that? What are you planning to do?"

Nora answered with actions.

She shoved Kalista into the room and slammed the door shut.

"What are you trying to do!" Kalista was furious and terrified.

If it came to a fight, she couldn't win.

Nora said in a deep voice, "Either you leave the hotel with me quietly, or I'll knock you out. Your choice."

Kalista asked angrily, "Are you trying to stop my engagement with Isaac?"

Nora answered truthfully, "Yes."

Kalista's face turned red with anger. "How dare you? Isaac's moved on from you. Yet here you are, trying to sabotage my relationship with him. Do you really have to be so pathetic, fighting me for a man who doesn't want you?"

Nora frowned, "It seems you won't leave quietly, so I can only make sure you can't attend the engagement party."

As she spoke, Nora approached Kalista.

Passing by a table, Nora picked up an ashtray to use as a weapon.

Kalista was trembling, retreating continuously.

"Don't be stupid. If you dare hurt me, Isaac won't let you off!"

Nora was unmoved by Kalista's threat.

Kalista was almost in tears from fear.

Seeing that threats were useless, Kalista could only plead, crying, "Please let me go. I'm pregnant with Isaac's child. Are you really so cruel as to hurt a pregnant woman?

"If you don't let me marry Isaac, do you want my child to be born without a father and a complete family?

"Nora, I know you're a kind person. Even if you hate me, you can't hurt the innocent child in my belly, nor can you ruin his life!"

Nora's gaze softened momentarily with a twinge of guilt.

But that emotion was fleeting, quickly replaced by her usual coldness.

She didn't want to hurt the innocent child, but she was more determined to protect Isaac.

By now, Nora had already reached Kalista and slowly raised the ashtray in her hand.

Kalista was so scared her legs went weak, and she collapsed to the ground, her tears ruining her makeup.

"Nora, I beg you, please let me go!"

Nora said coldly, "Don't worry, I'll be careful. One hit won't kill you."

As she finished speaking, her hand was about to come down.

Kalista screamed in terror, closing her eyes tightly and hugging her head with both hands.

At that moment, a strong hand grabbed Nora's wrist from behind.

Nora felt a sharp pain in her wrist, and the ashtray was taken from her hand by the person behind her.
