Chapter 35 Do I Need Your Permission to Hit You?

Isaac jerked his head to the side.

Kalista's lips grazed his cheek.

Even that brief contact was enough to darken Isaac's expression.

He forcefully pushed Kalista away and leaped out of bed.

He turned to leave without a moment's hesitation.

"Isaac, please don't go!"

Kalista also hurriedly tumbled out of bed, crashing to the floor in her haste.

Pain shot through her, but she ignored any potential injuries, desperately grabbing Isaac's ankle to stop him from leaving.

Isaac was forced to halt.

"Isaac, stay here. Let me take care of you," Kalista pleaded through tears.

"I can serve you better than Nora; I can give you more pleasure than she ever could!"

Isaac inhaled deeply, struggling to keep his anger at bay, and barked, "Let go!"

"I won't!" Clinging tighter, Kalista slowly sat up, wrapping her arms around his legs and rubbing her body against him to convey her softness.

"Isaac, please, just give me a chance?"
Though I'm a couple of years older than Nora, I've been guarding myself for you all this time. Four years, Isaac, without being with any guy. But Nora, she's not like that.

Kalista bit her lip, her voice turning sultry and suggestive, "I'm sure I can offer you a tighter embrace—a better pleasure."

Isaac pushed off his feet, sending her flying with a ferocious motion.

Kalista's remaining plea turned into a scream.

"Shut up!" Isaac barked, an aura of danger emanating from him, his deep voice laden with clear fury. "How can you speak such demeaning words, tearing down our own gender?"

"I..." Kalista's face turned ashen, her words tumbling out in a panicked attempt to explain.

However, Isaac had no intention of listening.

He stood up, surrounded by a chilling cold, and marched over to the room's doorway.

He reached for the handle, only to find the door locked from the outside.

Isaac's face darkened.

What in the world was Grandpa thinking?

Yesterday, he had drugged Isaac, leading to an unexpected encounter with Nora. Today, he got another dose, and now he's locked in with Kalista. What's running through his old man's head?

"Isaac, you can't leave this room now. You need someone to counteract the drug in your system, or you'll damage your health," she pleaded.

"You don't have an heir yet. If something happens to you, you'll regret it when it's too late! Besides, we're going to get married eventually, right? What's wrong with starting our life together a bit early?"

"Isaac, please stop pushing me away. Let me help you, will you?"

Kalista was relentless in her supplication.

Lifting her foot, she stepped closer to Isaac, her intentions clear.

He was under the influence, craving a woman with intense fervor.

She believed a little enticement would be all it took to make him relent.

She refused to accept that even drugged, Isaac would only want Nora—that woman she despised.

Tonight, she was determined to claim Isaac, to shame Edmund deeply.

She had to prove that Isaac's affections for Nora were gone—that last night was nothing but the work of the drug.

Realizing the door wouldn't budge, Isaac spun around swiftly, heading for the balcony escape.
Kalista felt an ominous premonition stirring within her.

What on earth was Isaac doing on the balcony?

She quickly turned and followed him there.

"Isaac, what in the hell are you trying to do?"

Her sentence was abruptly cut off as her voice ended in a sharp gasp.

Because there, before her incredulous eyes, Isaac leaped from the balcony without a moment's hesitation!

To avoid an intimate encounter with her, he actually jumped from the third-floor balcony!

In his eyes, was she really that abhorrent?

Did he despise her that much?!

Kalista stood trembling with a fury that turned her face scarlet and nearly burst her lungs with rage.

Why had he been with Nora the day before, yet now he refused to touch her?

While seething with anger, she was also concerned for Isaac's safety.

She hurriedly draped her clothes, which had been discarded beside the bed, over her shoulders and raced to the edge of the balcony to peer down.

Isaac was deftly leaping from a tall tree onto the ground below.

After the fall, he moved with ease, seemingly unhurt.

He hadn't jumped directly to the ground floor; instead, he had hopped onto the second floor's balcony and then onto a tree, which he used to descend.

Kalista breathed a sigh of relief.

However, Isaac's actions cut deep, wounding her heart.

"Isaac, in what ways do I fall short compared to Nora? Why are you willing to touch her but not me? Why?!" she cried out tearfully, questioning him with a broken heart as she watched him from above.

But Isaac didn't answer; his tall silhouette swiftly vanished into the darkness.

Kalista collapsed to the floor, crying her heart out in pain and humiliation.

At the same time, she felt an intense fury and shame.

She had thought that tonight she would definitely consummate her relationship with Isaac; she'd even sent Nora a taunting message in advance.

But Isaac's actions had severely slapped her in the face.

Then, the door swung open, and two housemaids walked in, addressing her, "Kalista, please get dressed and come downstairs with us. Mr. Porter is waiting for you on the first floor."

With a face etched with shame, Kalista went to the bathroom to put on her clothes and followed the maids downstairs.

Edmund was downstairs, calmly sipping his tea.

Upon seeing Kalista descend, he glanced at her and remarked sarcastically, "I've always said, even if drugged, Isaac would only touch the woman he desires, and the only woman he wants is Nora! Didn't we go over this yesterday? You insisted on humiliating yourself. Now, are you happy with the outcome?"

Kalista's fists clenched so tightly they shook, her face flushed with embarrassment, her eyes bloodshot with fury. She harbored a deep hatred for Nora and Edmund.

But in the face of Edmund's ridicule, she was rendered speechless.

Isaac, rather than face her, would prefer to leap out of a window.

Standing there, she felt like the butt of a cruel joke.

She wished she could just disappear into thin air.

"Now you see, Isaac has no desire for you. Gain some self-awareness and stop obsessing over him," Edmund said coldly.

Kalista's grip tightened.

She wasn't going to give up on Isaac!

What did it matter if Isaac still had feelings for Nora?

Isaac and Nora were divorced now, Nora had a new boyfriend, and a reconciliation was off the table.

She was determined to win Isaac back.

And if he couldn't forget Nora, then Kalista would ensure that Nora disappeared from this world.

"Alright, take her back. And disinfect the upstairs. Change all the bedding to get rid of her scent. We wouldn't want Nora to be uncomfortable if she comes back to stay," Edmund ordered with a somber tone.

Meanwhile, Nora was shaken.

After receiving Kalista's taunting text, she stripped and dashed into the shower, standing under the cold spray.

Her mind was in turmoil, the cold water her only attempt at finding solace.

It had been nearly an hour since Kalista's text.

An hour she'd spent under the chilling cascade, her skin wrinkled from the water, eyes closed, motionless as a puppet.

Suddenly, the bathroom door was flung open with force.

A tall figure strode in, pinned her against the wall, and claimed her lips in a possessive kiss...
