Chapter 136 You Only take advantage of Her

Nora's gaze instinctively fell on Isaac's left arm.

She had helped Steve treat his wound last night and knew how deep it was.

Such a deep wound, even if Rhys had treated it, it couldn't possibly heal in just one day.

As Mortimer had said, even if it did heal, it would leave a scar.

Thus, it was actually quite simple to prove his identity.

As soon as Isaac showed his arm to see if there was a wound, it would be clear whether Isaac was actually Steve.

Originally, Nora was very convinced that Isaac and Steve were not the same person, because she had seen Steve and Isaac appear at the same time.

But the video Mortimer showed her made her doubt.

She thought, 'Wesley is Isaac's most trusted man. Why will it help drive Steve?'

From the video, Wesley served Steve as smoothly as he were serving Isaac.

This made Nora suspicious.

After all, when Steve and Isaac appeared at the same time, Steve was standing at the door and didn't come close to her.

Nora had only seen him from a distance.

"Isaac, just show us your arm," Mortimer suggested again, "I think you don't want to be misunderstood, right?"

Isaac sneered, "Why should I prove myself just because you suspect me? If you suspect I'm not a man, should I take off my pants and show you?"

Mortimer said, "Isaac, don't change the subject. It's not difficult and insulting for you to show your arm."

Isaac pressed his lips together, lowering his eyelids, his long lashes covering his dark eyes.

Mortimer continued, "Are you unwilling to prove it because you're guilty?"

Isaac's eyes flickered, picking up the cup on the table and took a sip of water.

When he put the cup down, whether out of nervousness or not, the cup tipped over, and the water spilled onto the table.

"I'm not guilty of anything," Isaac said coldly.

But Isaac's series of actions just now clearly showed signs of guilt.

Mortimer sighed and looked at Nora, "I've tried to persuade Isaac, but he won't clear his name, so there's nothing I can do. But if you think he's not suspicious, he doesn't have to prove it. After all, you're the one involved. I'm just an outsider and have no right to interfere too much."

Nora clenched her fists tightly, her eyes dark as she looked at Isaac.

She suddenly stood up, walked over to Isaac, and said in a deep voice, "Take off your clothes and let me see."

"It's cold. I won't," Isaac still refused.

Nora pressed her lips together and directly reached out to grab his clothes, intending to take them off.

But as soon as she unbuttoned one button, Isaac grabbed her wrist, "Nora, remember your current status. We're already divorced. Do you think it's appropriate for you to take off my clothes?"

Nora questioned, "What are you guilty of? It's so easy to prove. Why won't you do it?"

"Because Mortimer's suspicions are baseless. Why should I clear myself because he suspects me?" Isaac glanced at Mortimer sarcastically, "If he has the guts, provide more direct evidence instead of relying on suspicion to make me prove it to you."

Mortimer said, "How can you call it baseless suspicion? You see the video just now. That's evidence. My suspicion is reasonable and well-founded."

Nora gritted her teeth and forcefully pried Isaac's hand away, "Mortimer, help me restrain him. I'll take responsibility for the consequences!"

Nora was determined to tear off Isaac's clothes forcibly.

"Alright, I'll do whatever you ask, but you don't need to bear the consequences," Mortimer stood up, walked behind Isaac, and grabbed his wrists.

"Isaac, my apologies. If you're angry, take it out on me, not Nora," Mortimer said.

Isaac sneered. "Hypocrite."

Mortimer had instigated the whole situation but was still pretending to be the good guy.

Without any retort, Mortimer restrained Isaac from behind.

Nora took the opportunity to unbutton Isaac's shirt.

Then, she forcefully pulled it open, exposing his left arm.

Nora and Mortimer looked down.

The skin was smooth and fair, with defined muscles.

But there was no sign of any injury!

"How can this be!" Mortimer's pupils contracted, surprise evident in his eyes.

"What exactly are you expecting?" Isaac said mockingly.

Mortimer pressed his lips tightly together, staring intently at Isaac's smooth arm, his mind swirling with complex emotions.

The video, the photo comparisons, and the evidence Kalista had gathered all pointed to Isaac as Nora's new boyfriend.

Otherwise, there couldn't be so many coincidences.

But if Isaac was Nora's boyfriend, why was there no wound on his arm?

Mortimer had personally inflicted that wound. It couldn't heal without a trace in just one day.

Not even Rhys could do that!

Could he have been wrong?

Were Isaac and Steve really not the same person?

But if Isaac and Steve weren't the same person, how could those coincidences be explained?

And why did Wesley drive that car away?

Mortimer reached out and touched Isaac's arm, even pinching it hard.

After pinching, the skin turned red.

The texture and feel were indistinguishable from real skin.

Mortimer, dazed, released Isaac.

Isaac looked up, a faint smile playing on his lips as he gazed at Nora, "Do you want to see anywhere else? I'll strip for you so you can get a good look all at once to save you from trying to tear my clothes off again."

Nora snapped back to reality and quickly withdrew her hand.

She awkwardly tugged at the corners of her mouth, "I'm sorry. I just really wanted to know the truth."

"Haven't you already known the truth?" Isaac said.

Nora lowered her head, looking like a guilty child, full of remorse.

Isaac mocked, "Don't you see me and your boyfriend appear at the same time? Isn't that enough to prove my innocence? Just because of Mortimer's words and an unverified video, do you doubt your own eyes and believe him?"

Nora was so ashamed she didn't know how to respond.

Isaac sneered, "I don't realize Mortimer held such a high place in your heart. One word from him makes you doubt your judgment and believe everything he says."

Nora clenched her fists tightly, her face full of shock.

Isaac said, "In the future, use your brain. Don't believe everything people say, especially hypocritical ones. Otherwise, one day, if he sells you out, you'll still be counting money for him!"

Mortimer said unhappily, "Isaac, I know you're angry about being misunderstood, but you can't slander me because of it. I would never harm Nora!"

Isaac retorted sarcastically, "Right, you wouldn't harm her. You'd take advantage of her to achieve your shady goals."

Mortimer frowned.

Isaac looked at Nora and lazily said, "You tore my clothes. Shouldn't you help me put them back together?"
