Chapter 381 Living with Him
Magnus's surgery was scheduled quickly.
This time, the surgery was exceptionally long, lasting more than ten hours.
Isaac waited outside the operating room with a stern face.
There was no expression on his face, making it seem like he didn't care.
But his whole body was tense, and his breathing was erratic, proving that he was not calm at all.
After the first examination, Rhys had said more than once that Magnus's chances of recovery were very slim, and he might never hear again.
The best possibility was to repair it as much as possible so that he could install a cochlear implant to assist his hearing.
The surgery lasted all night.
In the morning, the door of the operating room finally opened.
Rhys walked out of the operating room.
Isaac suppressed his inner worries, stood up calmly, and asked indifferently, "How is it?"
Rhys said, "My surgery was successful, but whether he can recover is up to fate."
"Although the human body's repair ability is strong, he is really too badly injured."
After speaking, he couldn't help but sigh.
Isaac's hand clenched quietly but quickly relaxed.
After glancing at Magnus being pushed out, he turned and left.
When he was about to return to Aridonia, Amara caught up with him, dragging a suitcase.
"Isaac, I'm going with you!"
Before Amara got in the car, Isaac forcefully closed the car door and stepped on the gas without hesitation.
The car sped away.
It quickly disappeared from sight.
"Isaac, I haven't gotten in the car yet!"
Amara shouted towards the car.
But the car didn't slow down at all.
"This is infuriating, how can Isaac do this?"
Amara stomped her foot in anger but had no choice but to drive herself to Aridonia to find him.
At the Hansen Mansion.
Liora, with a cold face, unhappily questioned Sylvie, "Mom, you initially wanted me to get engaged to Isaac. Later, Amara acted up, and you let her compete with me fairly. But now you're always helping Amara, arranging dates for her with Isaac, and even letting her move in with him. This is too unfair to me!"
Sylvie said, "You're too cold. You don't know how to take the initiative to get close to Isaac. How can you two date like this?"
"Compared to you, Amara is more suitable for Isaac. One of the two people has to take the initiative. If Isaac doesn't, Amara will. That's how they can successfully date."
"If it were you, and neither of you took the initiative, even if you lived together, there would be no communication. Do you think you could be a couple?"
Liora gritted her teeth and said, "Isaac and I are both focused on our careers. We will have many common topics. Once we get familiar, we will naturally have endless things to talk about!"
"Amara only knows how to eat, drink, and play every day. What can she talk about with Isaac?"
"Even if she pesters Isaac to pay attention to her, over time, Isaac will see that she has no substance and will lose interest in her!"
She looked down on Amara from her heart.
In her eyes, Amara was a vulgar woman with no substance.
How could a vulgar woman like Amara be worthy of someone as excellent as Isaac?
Only she and Isaac were the perfect match in this world.
She could fight alongside Isaac and conquer the business world!
Sylvie frowned, seemingly seriously considering Liora's words.
Liora continued, "Mom, you need to look at the long term. You can't just try to match them because Amara likes to pester Isaac and he shows a bit of interest."
"After they spend some time together, Isaac will see her vulgar nature and lose interest, maybe even despise her."
"Mom, do you think Amara can control Isaac?"
Sylvie's frown deepened
What Liora said seemed to make some sense.
After thinking for a moment, she said, "Alright, you can also get in touch with him. If you can attract him, then you can marry him."
A trace of joy flashed in Liora's eyes.
She quickly suppressed that emotional fluctuation and said with a smile, "Then call Amara back. I'll pack my things and go to Aridonia to find Isaac."
She was confident that as long as she spent more time with Isaac, he would be attracted to her as a business elite.
Isaac, she was determined to win!
Sylvie said, "Don't rush. Amara is already on her way. If I call her back now, she will throw a tantrum. I can't go back on my word."
Liora clenched her fists, "Then what should I do? We can't both go live with Isaac, can we? What would people say if this got out?"
If outsiders knew, they would say the two sisters were trying to please one man.
The Hansen family had complex relationships with many prominent families and even some military and political families. Such a scandal could not be allowed.
Sylvie said, "Let Amara go this time. Let her spend some time with Isaac. If she can't win him over, when he comes back to see the child next time, I'll call Amara back, and you can go with Isaac."
Liora was very frustrated.
But Sylvie had already made up her mind, and she couldn't negotiate with Isaac, so she had no choice.
Isaac wasn't attentive to the child and rarely came to see him.
The next time he came, it would probably be for the child's next surgery.
Thinking of this, Liora felt even more annoyed.
The next surgery would be at least half a month to a month away.
In such a long time, what if Amara's pestering made Isaac interested in her?
At the vacation resort.
Mortimer had been staying here for seven days.
Magnus and Soren were very happy to have his company.
Since Mortimer arrived, Nora felt that the children no longer needed her, and she didn't have to worry about them at all.
Nora, afraid of wasting Mortimer's time, had advised him to go back. He shouldn't stay here wasting time just because Magnus was being clingy.
But Mortimer said he had no work to do, and it was boring to stay alone at home. He would rather stay here with the children for fun.
Since he said so, Nora didn't urge him to leave anymore.
Urging him too much would seem like she was driving him away, making her look heartless.
Isaac, as usual, made video calls every night. Nora always said a few perfunctory words and then hung up.
She had told Isaac that until he resolved the issue with the other woman, she wouldn't invest any more feelings in him.
"Nora, come quickly and see. Magnus drew a picture. He has quite a talent."
Mortimer's gentle voice interrupted Nora's thoughts.
She came back to her senses and walked over with a smile, "Let me see, what did Magnus draw?"
She walked to the easel and looked at the content of the painting.
The painting depicted four people: an adult man and a woman, and two children.
Magnus excitedly pointed at the people in the painting and said, "This is Mommy, this is Uncle Mortimer, and these two are Soren and me. We are a happy family of four!"
As soon as Magnus finished speaking, Nora suddenly felt a chill behind her.
When she turned around, it was Isaac standing at the gate of the yard, without her knowing when he had arrived.
