Chapter 495: She Still Found Out

Isaac was at a loss for words, so he could only sit silently beside her and take out his phone to handle some matters.

When he opened WhatsApp to contact his assistant, he noticed that Amara's account, which he had set to "Do Not Disturb," was always at the top.

Ever since Isaac unblocked Amara, she had been constantly sending messages, so the chat box remained at the top.

There were already hundreds of unread messages in gray, and he hadn't opened a single one.

The messages Amara sent him were all trivial, and he felt it was a waste of time to read them.

However, Nora suddenly asked, "Who is this AmaHan?"

Amara's WhatsApp name was "AmaHan," and Isaac hadn't changed the nickname.

Isaac didn't expect Nora to look, and a flash of panic quickly crossed his eyes.

He swiftly opened Wesley's chat box.

"A client. I have a long-term project with her, and we need to maintain cooperation for a few more months, but she's quite annoying, so I set her to 'Do Not Disturb,'" Isaac explained perfunctorily.

Nora glanced at him.

In the end, she didn't say much and looked away.

Isaac breathed a sigh of relief but felt a pang of guilt in his heart.

Nora didn't pay him any more attention and focused on her work.

Even when they went to bed at night, Nora's attitude towards Isaac was lukewarm.

Isaac also had things on his mind, and seeing that Nora wasn't clinging to him, he felt relieved.

Whenever he thought about keeping his baby that Amara was carrying, a wave of guilt and unease washed over him, especially when he was getting close to Nora.

He just wanted to quietly stay by Nora's side.

In the following days, Nora was busy revising the script with Sophia via video call.

After she finished revising the script, she sent it to the director.

The director suggested that she join the crew as a scriptwriter because the script would be adjusted during filming, and even the most perfect script would need minor changes based on filming needs.

Since Nora was one of the original authors, having her there would make the revisions better.

But Nora declined the director's offer.

Magnus was sick at home, and although she could leave him with a nanny, she couldn't bear to.

Moreover, Magnus didn't like being around strangers and only allowed familiar people near him.

Magnus already had some psychological issues, and she needed to provide him with a sense of security.

So Nora told the director that he could contact her anytime if there were any issues.

The director eventually accepted her proposal.

After finishing the script work, Nora took Magnus out.

Since Magnus wasn't going to kindergarten and stayed at home every day, he would get bored after a while.

Although Magnus didn't like interacting with strangers, it didn't mean he liked staying at home.

He was not even four years old and had a child's natural curiosity and love for play.

However, due to Magnus's health, Nora didn't take him to the amusement park but to the aquarium to see marine life.

Nora personally helped Magnus change his clothes, put on a mask, and then called a nanny to accompany them, making it easier to take care of Magnus.

As Nora drove out of the neighborhood, a black car quietly followed them.

The car didn't follow too closely and occasionally changed lanes. On roads without intersections, it even overtook them to create the illusion of normal driving.

When Nora parked at the aquarium, the car didn't follow them in but drove a short distance away and then sent a message.

At this moment, Amara, who was in Isaac's villa, received several messages and photos from the private detective.

Private Detective: [Ms. Hansen, I saw a car that Mr. Porter used to drive leaving the neighborhood he goes every night. There were two women and a child in the car.]

[One was a middle-aged woman looked like a nanny, probably in her fifties, while the other was a young woman in her twenties. The child, who was about three or four years old, was wearing a mask, so I couldn't see the face clearly, but the outfit suggested it was a boy.]

[I managed to snap a few photos, but I took them from a moving car, they aren't very clear.]

After reading the messages and looking at the photos, Amara's face turned extremely grim.

She stared at the photos, her eyes blazing with anger, and gripped her phone tightly.

Although the photos weren't high-definition, the detective's camera equipment was good, and the images were quite clear.

The young woman was beautiful.

Even though Amara prided herself on her looks, she couldn't help but be amazed by the young woman's beauty.

The young woman had delicate features, fair and tight skin, and an elegant demeanor.

Although the child was wearing a mask, his eyes were visible.

The child's eyes were identical to Magnus's.

Amara's heart trembled violently, and tears welled up in her eyes. She suddenly started laughing, and as she laughed, tears of bitterness streamed down her face.

"No wonder Isaac wasn't happy at all when he found out I was pregnant with his baby. His attitude towards this baby was indifferent."

"No wonder he didn't care when Magnus was kidnapped by my mother. His attitude towards Magnus was also indifferent, not caring much about his life or death."

"It turns out, it's because he has more than just Magnus."

"He actually has another child. He's kept it under wraps so well!"

She had always believed that since Magnus was deaf and mute, and had suffered so much from electric shocks, he was essentially a lost cause.

If she gave birth to a healthy baby, Isaac would definitely be thrilled and cherish that child. She even thought she might be able to win Isaac's heart through the baby.

But she never expected that Isaac already had a healthy son, and the child was about the same age as Magnus.

Isaac went to that place every night to be with that child and that mistress, showing how much he valued and cared for them.

Even if she gave birth to the baby in the future, Isaac might not love her baby more.

"No, I won't give up. Isaac is my savior. I must marry him and be with him for the rest of my life!"

"Even if that mistress gave birth to Isaac's son and is beautiful, so what? Her family background can't compare to mine!"

"Someone like Isaac would definitely choose a woman of equal status to be his wife. I'm the most suitable person to be Isaac's wife!"

"Isaac surely never thought of marrying that mistress. Otherwise, why would he let me stay in his villa while that mistress and her kid are crammed into a tiny apartment?"

With this thought, Amara regained much of her confidence.

Even if that mistress gave birth to Isaac's child first, so what? Isaac still wouldn't marry her!

"However, I can't let my guard down. Isaac goes to see her every day. What if she tells Isaac every day that she loves him and asks him to marry her? What if one day, Isaac impulsively decides to marry that lover?"

Amara became anxious.

She knew plenty of wealthy young men who'd fallen head over heels for ordinary girls, so much so that they stood up to their families to marry women who weren't from their social circle.

She worried that Isaac might do the same.

That night, after work, Isaac didn't return to the villa.

He now had Magnus brought to the company, where he worked during the day while accompanying Magnus.

In the evening, Wesley would take Magnus back, and Isaac would occasionally return to the villa.

Amara hadn't seen Isaac for three days.

She texted him every day, but it felt like her messages were just vanishing into thin air—no replies at all.

Even when she called him, he rarely answered, and when he did, his tone was often impatient.

Even when he did answer, his tone was very impatient.

Thinking about this made Amara even more anxious.

Isaac didn't have much affection for her to begin with, and they had few opportunities to spend time together. How could they develop feelings this way?

She didn't want to have the baby just to end up like Isaac's mistress—no name, no status, nothing!

As a daughter of the Hansen family, she couldn't settle for being just an unnamed mistress.

At this moment, Isaac was at Nora's apartment, cooking in the kitchen, with Nora helping beside him.

Suddenly, Isaac's phone rang.

He glanced at it; it was Amara calling again.

A flash of irritation crossed Isaac's eyes.

Couldn't Amara just stop? She called him every day, almost always when he was at Nora's apartment after work.

It made him constantly on edge, worried that Nora would find out.

Although he had braced himself for the worst when he decided to keep Amara and her baby, he still hoped Nora would find out later. He greedily wanted to savor the peaceful moments with her just a little longer.

Isaac impatiently hung up the phone and continued cooking.

But soon, the phone rang again.

This time, before he could free his hands to hang up, Nora suddenly walked over, reached into his pants pocket, and took out the still-ringing phone.

Isaac's heart sank instantly.

He felt his heartbeat skip a beat.

His eyes showed obvious tension and panic.

The kitchen utensils in his hands fell to the ground because he was too nervous.

He didn't care about the utensils, hurriedly reaching out to grab the phone from her.

Nora quickly pressed the answer button and put the phone to his ear.

Isaac's outstretched hand paused in mid-air, then silently dropped.

From the phone came Amara's tearful voice. "Isaac, where are you? My belly suddenly feels uncomfortable, and I'm really worried about the baby. I'm so scared. Can you come back and check on us?"

Isaac's heart sank.

Amara's baby couldn't be in trouble!

That was Magnus's only hope for survival!

Isaac urgently said, "Have someone with you take you to the hospital first. I'll come to you right away."

Isaac took the phone from Nora's hand, hung up, and urgently said to Nora, "Honey, a friend of mine is in trouble. I need to go check on them. I won't be able to finish cooking dinner. Can you wrap things up and make do? I promise I'll make it up to you tomorrow."

He kept his eyes nervously on Nora, carefully observing her reaction for any signs of abnormality.

He couldn't be sure if Nora had heard Amara's voice on the phone.

If she had, he didn't know how to explain it.

Nora calmly said, "Okay, you go ahead. Be careful on the road. Don't worry about me and the kids."

Isaac breathed a sigh of relief.

It seemed she hadn't heard.

"Then I'm leaving. If I don't come back tonight, don't wait up for me. Put Magnus and Soren to bed first."

As he spoke, he took off his apron, walked over to Nora, and leaned down to give her a goodbye kiss.

Nora, however, squatted down to pick up the kitchen utensils he had dropped.

"Aren't you in a hurry? Go quickly, don't waste time," Nora urged.

Isaac felt a bit disappointed.

But thinking of Amara's anxious tone, he didn't linger and quickly walked out of the kitchen.

After Isaac left the kitchen, Nora's face instantly darkened, and she gripped the kitchen utensils tightly.

Although she hadn't heard the voice on the phone, she had seen the number that called.

Isaac hadn't saved it with a name.

But recently, that number had frequently called Isaac.

Although Isaac always avoided her, not letting her see the number and taking the calls outside, she had accidentally seen it and remembered it.

Isaac, he indeed had a problem!

Nora felt a tightness in her chest, almost unable to breathe.

She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and tried to control her emotions.

She had to hold back and not confront Isaac.

She and Isaac needed to appear "happy and harmonious" together, not letting their relationship issues affect Magnus and Soren's emotions.

Especially Magnus, who couldn't handle any stress or worries right now.

"Mama, Magnus is having a nosebleed!"

Soren's tearful scream suddenly came from the living room.

Nora's heart tightened, and all her thoughts vanished, leaving only Magnus in her mind.

She quickly turned off the stove, dropped the kitchen utensils, and ran out of the kitchen to the living room.

At this moment, Magnus was having a nosebleed. He sat on the floor, holding a towel under his nose to catch the blood, preventing it from dripping onto the floor.

Soren was crying beside him, both scared and worried.

Nora hurriedly found a few clean towels and went to Magnus, using the towels to help him catch the blood.

Even though she was there, all she could do was help catch the blood; she couldn't do anything else.

Rhys had said that Magnus's condition was unique. Once he started having a nosebleed, there was no way to stop it; it had to run its course and eventually stop on its own.

He couldn't tilt his head back or pinch his nostrils shut, since that wouldn't help stop the bleeding and could even lead to choking.

Because if the blood couldn't flow out, it would block the airway.

Seeing Magnus's pitiful state, Nora couldn't stop her tears from flowing.

Although Rhys had a way to save him, she still couldn't bear to see him suffer.
