Chapter 201 Isaac Sees Two Children
Nora saw Isaac stroll into her shop, clutching a massive bouquet of roses.
Nora was totally baffled and thought, 'What the heck is Isaac up to?'
While she was still in shock, Isaac walked right up to her with the roses. "These are for you."
"Why are you giving me flowers?" Nora asked, completely thrown off.
Isaac smirked, "What else would roses be for?"
Nora's heart skipped a beat.
Isaac said straight-up, "I've made up my mind. Starting today, I'm gonna chase after you again."
Nora's heart raced, and her mind went totally blank.
'Isaac wants to chase after me again? Is he serious?' Nora wondered.
"Have you lost your mind from all the drama?" Nora took a deep breath, trying to keep it together.
Isaac's mouth twitched. "Nope. I'm crystal clear and I know exactly what I'm doing.
"I've thought it through. I never got over you. Now I wanna face my feelings and go after you again. Will you give me a shot?"
Nora's heart trembled, and a storm of mixed emotions hit her.
She had been waiting for Isaac to say this.
Now she finally heard it.
But now, she couldn't accept it, nor could she accept his affection.
Plus, she didn't believe Isaac was for real.
After all, he had just proposed to Kalista right in front of her, making her look like a fool.
Now that Kalista's scandal had blown up and their engagement was trashed, Isaac then said he wanted to chase her again. She couldn't buy it.
Isaac must have found out that Edmund was framed by Mortimer, and he probably thought she had something going on with Mortimer. To get back at Mortimer, he was trying to chase her.
Nora pulled herself together and shot him down coldly, "Sorry, I don't wanna start over with you. Don't waste your time on me. Ever since that night when you proposed to Kalista in front of me, I've completely given up on you. I'm not giving you another chance to hurt me."
He was trying to get close to her, just to hurt and get back at her later.
Nora thought, 'Once was enough to break my heart. I don't wanna go through that again.'
Isaac looked at her deeply and said, "If I told you I was planning to propose to you that night, would you believe me?"
"Not a chance!" Nora shot back.
Isaac pulled out a ring from his pocket.
Nora recognized it as the ring Isaac had put on Kalista that night.
The humiliating memory came rushing back, and Nora's face turned beet red.
She knew he was up to no good and was just trying to mess with her!
"Look at the engraving inside the ring," Isaac said softly.
Nora looked down.
Her eyes widened in disbelief.
Inside the ring, her name and Isaac's name were engraved, with a heart in between!
Nora's mind went blank.
Isaac said, "This engagement ring was supposed to be yours."
Nora looked at him in disbelief, still a bit dazed.
'If he planned to propose to me, why did he end up proposing to Kalista in front of everyone, making me so embarrassed?' she thought.
Isaac seemed to read her mind and explained, "Mortimer threatened me. I ran into him at the hotel entrance that day. Mortimer showed me a video and forced me not to get involved with you. You've seen that video too."
Nora's eyes went wide, staring at Isaac in disbelief.
She thought, 'Is he talking about the video of Kalista and Edmund? Did Mortimer use that to threaten Isaac? Did Mortimer and Kalista set up Edmund just to blackmail Isaac?'
Nora clenched her fists, her heart burning with anger.
"Now that the video's out in the open, I've decided to come clean. Will you give me another shot?" Isaac looked at her with those puppy-dog eyes.
Nora tried to keep her cool. "No, I don't want any more drama with you. Don't come around here again."
Even if the proposal mess was cleared up, she couldn't accept Isaac.
She thought, 'Daxton would never let us be together. And I don't have much time left.'
What that thought, Nora steeled herself and said, "Please leave and don't mess with my business!"
Isaac said, "I'm not giving up. Even if you say no, I'm still gonna chase after you."
He shoved the flowers into Nora's arms.
Then he walked inside like he owned the place.
"What are you doing?" Nora panicked, quickly putting the flowers on the counter and running after him to stop him.
'Magnus and Soren are still playing inside. I can't let him see them!' Nora screamed in her head.
Isaac said, "Aren't you hiring? From now on, I'm working here."
Nora said, "You're not qualified. I won't hire you!"
Isaac smirked, "Okay, fine, I'll be a customer. I want to order some paintings. Come over and discuss the details with me."
Nora said angrily, "I won't take your order!"
Isaac said, "This is a legit purchase. If you don't take my order, you're discriminating against me. I can report you to the market supervision department."
Nora fell silent.
By this time, Isaac had already walked into the reception area.
The large reception room had become a play area for the kids.
Olivia and Ava had brought tons of toys for the two kids.
The two kids were happily playing inside.
When Isaac walked in and saw them, he suddenly froze.
After a few seconds, he snapped out of it and turned to Nora. "Why are there two kids here?"
Nora looked panicked.
Isaac walked up to Magnus and Soren.
He looked at Soren first, then at Magnus.
Both kids were wearing masks, showing only their eyes, mouths, and chins.
After looking back and forth a few times, Isaac pointed at Magnus and asked, "Is he the kid who got into my car and went home with me the other day?"
Even though Magnus was wearing a different mask today, Isaac still recognized him.
Isaac hadn't spent much time with him that day, but he had a good memory and recognized him easily.
Nora had no choice but to nod. "Yes."
Isaac looked at Soren and asked, "I saw this kid at your place the other day too. She had paint all over her."
Nora quickly explained, "She's also a customer's kid. That day, the customer came to see a painting and brought her along!"
Isaac looked around, "Where's your customer? Your customer didn't come today, so why are her kids here? And why are they treating this place like their home?"
