Chapter 261 Is Edmund Sick?

Edmund's face was all crinkled up from laughing, and he let out a chuckle every now and then.

It freaked out the assistant and the driver.

"Mr. Porter, are you alright?" the assistant asked, looking worried. "Are you feeling sick? Do you need to go to the hospital?"

Edmund stopped smiling and shot the assistant a glare. "I'm not sick, and I'm not going to the hospital!"

The assistant asked, "Then why were you laughing so weirdly"

Edmund replied, "I thought of something funny and laughed. So what? Can't I laugh?"

The assistant shook his head vigorously.

Edmund snorted.

Thinking about his two adorable great-grandsons, he started laughing again. Then he said, "Don't head back yet, go to the mall. I want to buy gifts for Magnus and Soren!"

"Yes, sir," the assistant replied.

The car immediately turned around and headed to the mall.

On the way, Edmund made a call to Isaac.

As soon as the call connected, he started yelling, "How did I end up with such a dumb grandson? Not only are you dumb, but you're also blind. What good are those eyes of yours? I really want to crack open your head to see what's inside, and then gouge out your eyes to clean them! You little brat!" Edmund was really pissed off.

He took a deep breath and continued, "Listen up, from now on, be nicer to Magnus and Soren. Do whatever they ask you to do, and do it with a smile. Don't give me that sour face! If you dare to treat them badly, you'll regret it later!"

Then he hung up, not giving Isaac a chance to speak.

At that moment, in the Porter Group conference room.

Isaac's face was as dark as a storm cloud, staring at his phone in disbelief.

Everyone else in the conference room held their breath, not daring to make a sound.

When Isaac answered the call earlier, he accidentally hit the speakerphone button.

Everyone in the conference room heard Edmund's rant. They also saw Isaac's calm face turn grim. They were all afraid that if they made a wrong move, Isaac would use it as an excuse to vent his anger on them.

Only Edmund dared to scold Isaac like that, and Isaac didn't dare to talk back.

"Wesley, find out what happened with my grandpa," Isaac said, trying to keep his anger in check.

Even though he was inexplicably scolded and felt really angry, he was more worried that something had triggered Edmund to lose his temper like that.

The last time Edmund scolded him so harshly was when something happened to Nora.

Wesley said, "Yes, I'll check it right away!"

Isaac continued the meeting.

After the meeting, Wesley had already called Edmund's people to find out what was going on.

"Mr. Porter, it was said that Mr. Edmund is in good spirits today, not triggered by anything. They said Mr. Edmund went to Mrs. Nora's store today and stayed there for six or seven hours, even had lunch there before leaving. It's just that..." Wesley reported.

Isaac gave him a cold look. "When did you learn to be so mysterious?"

Wesley shrank back and quickly said, "The folks around Mr. Edmund said he was giggling in the car after leaving, which made them uneasy. After laughing for a bit, Mr. Edmund called and chewed you out."

Isaac frowned.

After thinking for a moment, he said, "Reschedule the next meeting for tomorrow morning. I need to check on Grandpa."

Edmund's health had always been shaky, and his sudden outburst today made Isaac really uneasy. He was eager to go back and check on Edmund.

Wesley said, "Mr. Edmund hasn't gone home yet; he went to the mall to buy something."

Isaac got even more worried.

Edmund hadn't gone out to buy anything himself for a very long time.

In the past, whenever he needed something, the people around him would handle it perfectly, so he never needed to buy anything himself. He also had no interest in shopping.

Before Isaac took over the Porter Group, Edmund was always busy with work.

After Isaac took over, Edmund got into leisure activities like chess and fishing, still uninterested in shopping.

Now, Edmund suddenly going to the mall to buy something seemed very unusual.

Isaac's face turned slightly pale, and his hands clenched into fists at his sides. He had grown up by Edmund's side and couldn't imagine a world without him.

"Get the car ready and take me to the mall!" He tried to stay calm, but his trembling voice gave him away.

Wesley quickly said, "Got it, I'll arrange it right away!" He seemed to have a bad feeling too and ran to get the car.

Isaac strode into the elevator. By the time he walked out of the building, Wesley was already waiting with the car at the entrance.

Isaac got in the car, and they sped towards the mall.

Half an hour later, Isaac walked into the mall.

Wesley had already found out where Edmund was and jogged ahead to lead the way.

"Mr. Porter, this is the place. The people with Mr. Edmund said he's inside buying something."

Isaac glanced at the sign.

A children's toy store? What was Edmund doing in a children's toy store?

With a puzzled mind, Isaac walked into the store.

"That one, that one, and that whole row, wrap them all up!" Edmund said.

As soon as Isaac walked in, he heard Edmund's hearty voice.

Edmund was surrounded by five or six sales clerks, who were grinning from ear to ear at his generosity.

Isaac strode over and asked, "Grandpa, why are you buying so many toys? There are no kids at home."

'Could it be that Edmund's condition had worsened, and he thought I was still a child and wanted to buy toys for me?' Thinking of this, Isaac felt both touched and sad.

He softened his voice and said, "Grandpa, look closely. I've grown up and don't need these toys anymore. Let's go back, and I'll take you to the hospital for a check-up."

Edmund knocked Isaac on the head hard.

It hurt a lot. Isaac's mind went blank for a moment.

"You need a check-up, not me. My mind is perfectly fine, better than yours!" Edmund glared at him and said irritably, "Of course, I know you've grown up. These toys aren't for you. Stop your wishful thinking!"
