Chapter 511 Meeting Amara

"Why isn't Mommy home?" Soren searched the entire room but couldn't find any trace of Nora, so he ran back to Isaac.

Isaac said, "Don't worry, I'll call and ask."

He held her hand, sat down on the sofa, and took out his phone to call Nora.

But he called twice in a row, and no one answered.

Isaac couldn't help but frown.

Where did Nora go? Why isn't she answering his calls?

"Daddy, can't you reach Mommy?" Soren asked with her big, innocent eyes.

Isaac patted her little head and said, "Yes, she might be busy and doesn't have time to answer the phone. I'll call her again later."

"Okay." Soren nodded, believing him.

Meanwhile, Nora was taking Magnus to the hospital for a check-up.

Magnus's health had been deteriorating recently, and it wasn't just nosebleeds.

This morning, Magnus was practicing writing alone, but suddenly fainted while writing.

He fell to the ground and hit his head on the corner of the table, bleeding a lot.

Because of a problem with his coagulation system, the bleeding wouldn't stop, so she had to bring the unconscious and bleeding Magnus to the hospital.

"Don't worry too much, the bleeding has stopped, and he's receiving a blood transfusion now. Magnus will be fine."

Mortimer walked up behind Nora, gently patted her shoulder, and comforted her in a warm voice.

Nora turned to look at him and said softly, "Okay, I know. Thank you for today."

Magnus had been bleeding continuously while unconscious, and she had to press on his wound. She couldn't hold Magnus and drive at the same time, so she contacted Mortimer for help.

Mortimer said warmly, "I'm glad you contacted me. You don't need to thank me."

Nora lowered her eyes and walked to Magnus's bedside.

Mortimer followed her to the bedside and asked in confusion, "What's wrong with Magnus? He looks much worse than before."

"And it took the doctor a long time to stop the bleeding. What's going on?"

Nora smiled bitterly, "Magnus was diagnosed with a coagulation disorder recently. Once he starts bleeding, it's hard to stop."

"It was manageable at first, but now he has nosebleeds almost every day, and the bleeding lasts longer each time. He's getting weaker by the day."

Mortimer's face showed surprise and concern as he asked, "Have you seen Rhys? What did Rhys say?"

Nora smiled, "Rhys has seen him. He said he can cure him, but because Magnus's condition is unique, he needs to develop a special medication, which will take some time."

Mortimer's eyes flickered, revealing a strange look deep within.

Rhys couldn't possibly cure him. If Rhys had the ability to cure Magnus, Isaac wouldn't have kept the baby in Amara's belly.

This was a scheme he had meticulously planned, and everyone had to follow the path he had laid out. No one could break this scheme.

Mortimer collected his thoughts and said warmly, "Since Rhys has a solution, you don't need to worry. Just patiently wait for Rhys's results."

Nora sighed lightly, "Even though I know he can be cured, it's hard to stay calm seeing Magnus suffer."

Mortimer said, "You're his mother, so it's normal to worry. But don't worry too much, as excessive worry can affect your own health. You need to stay healthy to take better care of Magnus."

Nora nodded, "Okay, I understand."

She stopped talking, sat by the bedside, and silently watched the still-unconscious Magnus.

After a while, she reached into her pocket and found it empty.

Her phone wasn't with her.

"I left my phone in the car. Can you watch Magnus for me while I go get it?" Nora said to Mortimer.

She wanted to get her phone to text Rhys and ask how much longer it would take to develop the medication.

Mortimer nodded, "Sure, go ahead. I'll watch Magnus for you. Don't worry."

Nora nodded, then she walked out of the hospital and headed to the parking lot.

But as she reached the hospital entrance, a familiar person approached.

Nora's face darkened.

Amara's face also turned very unpleasant.

Nora glanced at her and then looked away, not intending to engage with her.

However, Amara stepped in front of Nora, blocking her path.

"We've met before." Amara looked at Nora, unable to hide her resentment.

She had seen Nora at Isaac's villa before, but she thought that was in the past.

She didn't expect Isaac to still be with her, and they even had illegitimate children!

"Do you need something?" Nora looked at Amara coldly, her voice devoid of any emotion.

Suppressing her anger, Amara said, "Let's find a place to talk."

Nora refused, "I have nothing to talk about with you, and I don't have time."

With that, Nora tried to walk around her again.

This time, Amara grabbed her arm and said firmly, "I want to talk to you about Isaac. If you don't talk to me, I'll go to your child's preschool to find you!"

Nora's face instantly darkened, and she looked at Amara with a dangerous, icy gaze, "If you dare to harm my child, no matter who you are or who protects you, I will make sure you suffer!"

Her icy gaze made Amara instinctively shiver.

Nora had such a strong presence.

A trace of fear inexplicably emerged from deep within her.

But soon, that trace of fear was suppressed by anger. She was furious.

She was Miss Hansen, the future mistress of the Porter family. Why should she fear an unknown nobody?

Why should Nora be so arrogant in front of her?

The more Amara thought about it, the angrier she became. She said furiously, "If you don't want me to go to your child, come with me. We'll settle this between adults, and I won't bother the child."

Nora coldly stared at Amara for a few seconds.

Amara felt very uncomfortable under her gaze.

Nora quickly looked away and said calmly, "I'll go to the parking lot to get my phone. Find a place close to the hospital."

She had agreed.

She was afraid Amara would really go to Soren's preschool.

Even if Amara didn't harm Soren and just bothered her, she didn't want that to happen.

Adult matters shouldn't involve children.

Amara said, "I know a nearby café. It's only a five-minute walk."

Nora found her phone in the car, saw several missed calls from Isaac, but didn't call back. She put her phone in her pocket and followed Amara to the café she mentioned.
