Chapter 412: You're Not Dead, Don't Be So Petty
Nora narrowed her drunken eyes at Isaac and spoke vaguely, "You look a lot like my bastard ex-husband. You must be a bastard too. I need to teach you a lesson!"
Isaac remained silent.
How did he become the bastard ex-husband?
He didn't admit to being a bastard.
Nor did he admit to being Nora's ex-husband.
He was the current husband!
"Are you going to kneel or not?" Nora got very angry when she saw he wasn't moving, her cheeks puffing up with rage.
Isaac agreed helplessly, "Fine, I'll kneel. Don't be mad."
He could only drop to his knees, a faint smile on his face. "I'm kneeling. Are you satisfied now?"
Nora sat on the edge of the bed, lifted her foot to his chest, and then slowly moved it up, hooking his chin with her toes.
"Why do you look so much alike? Do all bastards look the same?" Nora muttered angrily.
Isaac's mouth twitched as he defended himself, "I'm not a bastard."
Nora glared at him furiously, "How dare you talk back?"
Isaac remained silent.
"You're driving me crazy. You bastard dares to talk back, I need to teach you a good lesson!"
Nora was very angry.
She reached out to yank at Isaac's tie.
Because she was drunk, her body swayed back and forth, and after a long struggle, she still couldn't get it off.
In the end, Isaac took off the tie himself and handed it to her.
Nora took the tie, tied his hands together, and then ordered him lie on the bed, securing his hands to the headboard.
Then, she started to undo his belt.
Isaac's breathing tightened, his body began to heat up, and his voice became hoarse, "Honey, what are you going to do?"
Nora smirked, "Are you scared? Even if you beg for mercy, I won't let you go!"
Isaac stifled a laugh, his eyes filled with anticipation.
If he had known that the lesson she was talking about was this kind of lesson, he would have taken off his clothes and pants himself from the start, so she could teach him faster.
But he knew very well that when Nora got drunk, she became particularly rebellious and liked to go against him.
If he told her not to do something, she would insist on doing it.
So, to ensure he could be taught a lesson smoothly, Isaac pretended to be scared and begged for mercy, "Please let me go. I'll be a good person from now on."
"I told you, begging for mercy won't work!" Nora snorted arrogantly.
Isaac showed a perfectly timed scared expression and begged for mercy a couple more times.
Seeing his scared look, Nora's expression became even more smug.
But it took her several minutes to undo the belt, and she still couldn't get it off.
Isaac was getting a bit impatient.
He pulled his hands out of the tie, undid the belt himself, and then wrapped his hands back up.
Nora didn't even notice that the binding she had worked so hard on was so easily undone by him.
Nora grabbed the belt and yanked it out forcefully.
Isaac cooperated, lifting his hips to make it easier for her to pull it out.
Seeing Nora finally pull out the belt, Isaac felt a bit excited.
Now they could move on to the next step, right?
It had been a while since he had made love with Nora, and he was already feeling restless.
However...
In his anticipation, Nora raised the belt in her hand and whipped it down on him without hesitation.
Although she wasn't very strong, and it didn't hurt much when it hit him, Isaac was still stunned, looking at Nora in disbelief.
She undid his belt not to make love with him but to whip him with it?
Isaac's expression changed dramatically.
Nora stood on the bed, looking down at Isaac with a cold smile, "Bastards deserve a good beating. I'll beat you so badly, let's see if you'll still be a bastard!"
Isaac remained silent.
He began to wonder if Nora was really drunk or just pretending to be drunk to hit him.
Nora raised the belt in her hand again and continued to whip him.
Isaac didn't resist, letting her vent her dissatisfaction.
It was better for Nora to vent than to bottle up her resentment and develop psychological issues.
After a while, Nora got tired and fell asleep directly.
What Isaac had been looking forward to didn't happen.
He sighed helplessly, untied the tie from his hands, helped Nora change into her pajamas, and then carefully held her as they lay down together.
Meanwhile, at the hospital.
Sophia was lying alone in the hospital bed, about to rest.
At that moment, the door was opened from the outside.
She thought it was Nora coming back and looked towards the door with a smile.
But when she saw who came in, her smile froze instantly, and a chill swept over her.
Rylan, why was he here?
He had already taken the child away, so why was he here?
Rylan wasn't alone; he had brought a young woman with him.
Sophia had seen this woman before.
The woman was the one who had kidnapped and stabbed her.
"How do you feel?" Rylan walked to the bedside, looking down at Sophia with indifference as he asked.
Sophia took a deep breath, trying to stay calm, and asked lightly, "Do you need something?"
Rylan replied, "I found the person who kidnapped you. I brought her here to apologize to you."
He glanced at the woman behind him and instructed coldly, "Lena, apologize."
Lena Hall looked very unwilling and whined, "Rylan, you're my sister's boyfriend. I won't apologize. Who does she think she is? Does she deserve an apology from me?"
Sophia's eyes darkened.
Boyfriend?
This Lena was Rylan's fiancée's sister.
No wonder she was so arrogant.
When Lena had kidnapped her, tortured her, and stabbed her, Lena had said that even if she killed Sophia, Rylan wouldn't do anything to her.
At that time, Sophia knew Lena had a relationship with Rylan.
She just didn't know that Lena was Rylan's fiancée's sister.
Rylan's tone became heavier, full of warning, "Lena, did you forget what you promised me? If you don't repent, don't ever show up in front of me again!"
Lena was intimidated by his aura, her face turning slightly pale, "Rylan, don't be mad. I'll apologize."
She looked at Sophia with hostility and disgust, her lips moving for a moment, just about to speak.
"Forget the apology. An apology is a meaningless gesture." Sophia voiced lightly, cutting off Lena's words.
Lena's eyes widened in anger, glaring at her, "You bitch, I'm giving you face by apologizing. Don't be ungrateful!"
Rylan gave Lena a warning look, and Lena immediately shut her mouth in grievance.
Rylan looked at Sophia, "Then what do you want?"
Sophia replied, "My request isn't excessive. Just stab her once."
Lena instantly became furious, pointing at Sophia's nose and cursing, "How can you be so vicious? You want to stab me? A woman as malicious as you should be struck by lightning!"
Sophia sarcastically said, "I just want to do to you what you did to me. If that's considered vicious, then what do you call your actions?"
Lena angrily retorted, "What right do you have to compare yourself to me, you bitch? You shamelessly seduced Rylan and got pregnant with his child to try to control him. I was teaching you a lesson, and you deserved it!"
"Don't tell me you didn't know Rylan had a fiancée. There have been rumors in the entertainment industry for years that Rylan has a fiancée. A few months ago, Rylan even announced it to the media!"
"Knowing he had a fiancée, you still seduced him and got pregnant. You deserve to die, you bitch!"
"I can't believe you and that bastard child survived!"
The last sentence was said in a low voice. She didn't dare say anything bad about the child in front of Rylan.
Sophia let out a mocking laugh and looked up at Rylan, "Mr. Reed, you didn't even tell her the truth?"
Rylan's face darkened, and he didn't answer Sophia's question.
He said to Sophia, "Choose another form of punishment, one that doesn't endanger her life."
Sophia replied, "It's just one stab. It won't kill her. Look, I was stabbed, and I'm still alive, right?"
Lena shouted in displeasure, "You're not dead, are you? Can you stop being so petty? I don't know how a woman like you managed to seduce Rylan!"
Rylan repeated, "Choose another request."
Sophia lowered her eyes and voiced calmly, "I'm sorry, it was my fault. I shouldn't have made such a vicious request. I don't need an apology. I'm the one who should apologize."
"I sincerely apologize to you both. I'm sorry."
"You can take her away now."
Sophia just wanted to get rid of them and didn't want to see them any longer.
"At least you know your place. You know you deserve to be punished for being a homewrecker. Just keep yourself in check and stop clinging to Rylan. You won't get anything out of it!" Lena sneered.
Rylan silently looked at Sophia for a while, then said to Lena, "You go back first."
Lena frowned, "Rylan, aren't you coming with me?"
"I have a few words to say to her."
Lena asked warily, "What do you need to say to her? And alone?"
Rylan warned, "Don't be too curious about my private matters."
Lena shrank back, pouting in grievance, and finally left the room reluctantly.
Before leaving, she didn't forget to warn Sophia, "Remember what I said. Don't seduce Rylan!"
After Lena left, the room fell silent.
Rylan looked at Sophia, "Lena is my fiancée's sister. She has a good relationship with her sister and mistakenly thought you seduced me. She kidnapped you to stand up for her sister."
"Although she did something wrong, her intentions weren't bad. Don't hold it against her."
"As for your injury, I'll compensate you with one hundred million dollars."
Sophia didn't react much and replied calmly, "Fine, handle it however you want. I have no objections."
"You know my account number. Just transfer the money to my account. You can leave now."
Rylan could tell that Sophia wanted him to leave, and his face turned very unpleasant.
But he quickly composed himself and said to Sophia, "The child cries a lot and is very weak. The doctor said that staying with his mother and being breastfed will help him get better."
"Once your wound heals, I'll arrange for you to live with the child."
Sophia instinctively clenched her fists, a surge of anger swirling inside her.
He still wanted her to take care of the child?
She wouldn't agree to it!
Sophia spoke sternly, "Mr. Reed, our contract is done. We agreed that once I gave birth, you wouldn't bother me or harm my family and friends. Have you forgotten?"
"Now that the child is born, our deal is over. I have no obligation to take care of the child, and I won't do it!"
"Whether he cries, is weak, or healthy, it has nothing to do with me. Please don't mention him in front of me again!"
"I also hope, Mr. Reed, that you will stick to our agreement and never appear in front of me again!"
Rylan looked at Sophia with dark eyes, "That's your child. How can you be so heartless and not care about his well-being?"
Sophia couldn't help but laugh, "Mr. Reed, you're so funny."
"I don't like him or care about him. Isn't that normal? Liking him would be abnormal!"
"Mr. Reed, do you think that just because a woman gets pregnant, she'll automatically have an overwhelming maternal love?"
"Unfortunately, I have no maternal love for that child."
The birth of that child was her shame.
The child's existence constantly reminded Sophia of the deception and humiliation she had endured over the past seven years.
How could she possibly like that child?
Rylan asked, "Do you hate me?"
Because she hated him, Sophia also hated the child.
Sophia sarcastically responded, "Mr. Reed, do you think I should like someone who deceived and played with me for seven years?"
Rylan not only played with her for seven years but also forced her to give birth to a child she didn't want. How could she not hate him?
Rylan looked at her deeply, "Back then, I actually..."
Sophia impatiently interrupted him, "Mr. Reed, I don't want to talk about the past. I don't want to pursue it. I just hope you can stick to our agreement and never appear in front of me again."
"From now on, let's be strangers. Even if we meet outside, I hope you can pretend not to know me."
They were supposed to be two parallel lines. After intersecting for a while, it was time to return to being parallel.
Rylan felt very uncomfortable, a surge of anger stuck in his chest with no way to release it.
"Let's cooperate one more time. You take care of the child until he's one year old, and I'll compensate you with one billion dollars," Rylan said as calmly as possible.
The child cried every day, his voice hoarse from crying.
The nannies and childcare experts at home had no solutions.
Rylan couldn't soothe him either.
The childcare experts and doctors suggested that the child stay with his mother.
Children had a natural dependence on their mothers. They were familiar with their mother's scent. Staying with the mother might improve the situation.
For the sake of the child, Rylan had no choice but to find Sophia.
Sophia didn't refuse outright.
She calmly said to Rylan, "Mr. Reed, if you're not afraid that I'll jump off a building with the child, then go ahead and force me to take care of him."
