Chapter 297 By the Time He Was Sent in, He Was Already in Shock
"What did you say? How could Magnus get hit by a car?" Nora's breath caught, and her mind went blank.
Wesley said, "It's hard to explain over the phone. You should come to the hospital first."
Soon, Wesley sent the hospital's address.
Nora rushed to the hospital in a daze.
When she arrived, Magnus was still in the operating room.
There was only one bodyguard standing outside the operating room, Wesley was nowhere to be seen, nor was anyone else.
Nora, with red eyes, stared at the operating room.
Then she asked the bodyguard in a trembling voice, "What happened? Where did Magnus get hit by the car? Is he seriously injured?"
Even though she blamed Magnus for his mistakes, she was still very scared when she learned he was in danger.
The bodyguard said, "I don't know the details. Wesley brought him here. It looked pretty serious. The doctor said he was already unconscious when he was brought in."
Nora's vision went black, and she fainted.
When she woke up again, she found herself lying in a hospital bed. And she felt very confused.
It took several seconds for the memories to become clear in her mind. Then she remembered that Magnus was in a car accident and was being rescued. She immediately threw off the covers and got out of bed, anxiously running out of the room.
"Mrs. Porter, you're awake? Are you feeling unwell anywhere? Do you need me to call a doctor?" The bodyguard at the door asked politely as soon as he saw her.
Nora asked urgently, "Where's Magnus? Is the surgery over? How is he?"
The bodyguard said awkwardly, "I don't know. I'm just here to ensure your safety. I don't know about anything else."
Nora pushed him aside forcefully and ran forward in a panic.
Since he didn't know, she would find a doctor herself! But she hadn't gone far when she bumped into someone.
She was in such a hurry that the collision was quite severe, causing her to stumble back a few steps and almost fall.
At the critical moment, a strong arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her back. Her body crashed into a broad, solid chest.
A familiar, crisp scent filled her senses.
Nora froze. Looking up, she saw Isaac's flawless face, which had a stern expression and cold eyes.
She quickly avoided his gaze, not daring to look him in the eye.
After all, her son had caused his grandfather to fall into a coma.
Even though Magnus was also injured, she still felt guilty towards Isaac. She then pushed Isaac away.
Isaac let her go immediately.
Nora took a deep breath and said as calmly as possible, "Magnus was in a car accident. I need to check on him." She then tried to walk past him.
"Do you know where he is?" Isaac asked in a deep voice.
Nora stopped abruptly. It was true that she didn't know it.
Isaac said, "Follow me. I'll take you there."
Nora asked in surprise, "You know where he is?"
Isaac said, "The bodyguards watching over him were sent by me. Do you think I wouldn't know where he is?"
Nora then realized she had asked a stupid question.
Then Isaac brought her to the door of an intensive care unit.
Nora looked through the window and saw Magnus was wrapped in bandages, looking like a mummy. Her nose tingled, and tears instantly welled up.
After crying for a while, she forced herself to stop, and turned to look at Isaac.
Isaac stood behind her with a cold expression, and was also looking at Magnus. But despite Magnus's miserable state, he showed no concern.
Nora could understand.
After all, Magnus had just hurt Edmund.
But Magnus was also his son.
Seeing him so indifferent to his own son, not caring about his life or death, made her feel very sad.
Nora took a deep breath, and asked Isaac, "How is he? What did the doctor say?"
Isaac said calmly, "The doctor said he's seriously injured and hasn't passed the critical stage yet. He needs to be observed for seventy-two hours."
Nora's nose tingled again, and tears welled up once more.
Needing seventy-two hours of observation meant it was very serious.
"How did he get so badly injured? What about the driver? Have they been caught?" She asked, her voice choked with sobs.
Isaac pressed his lips together, his eyes dark and unreadable.
Nora suddenly realized their situation was very awkward.
In Isaac's eyes, Magnus was the culprit who hurt his grandfather. Asking him about Magnus must be torturous for him.
Nora bit her lip and said, "The bodyguard told me Wesley brought Magnus to the hospital. He should know more about what happened. I'll ask Wesley."
Isaac didn't stop her.
Nora walked to the side, and dialed Wesley's number.
It took a while for Wesley to answer.
Nora asked urgently, "Wesley, why is Magnus injured? Who hit him? You were the one who informed me and brought him to the hospital. You must know the details. Tell me everything you know!"
Wesley was silent for a few seconds, then said, "Mrs. Porter, I was the one who hit him."
"What?" Nora's eyes widened, her voice rising sharply.
Her eyes reddened, and she clenched her fists, trembling as she asked, "How could you hit Magnus? Did you do it on purpose to avenge Edmund? And where did you hit him?"
She had locked Magnus in a room, which could only be opened from the outside with a key. And Magnus couldn't have opened the door himself.
She thought, 'Did Wesley deliberately go to her house to take Magnus away for revenge? But Wesley didn't know the password to her house. Did Isaac tell him? Was this Isaac's idea?...'
Thinking of this, Nora's heart tightened, and an indescribable emotion quickly spread, making it hard for her to breathe.
