Chapter 232 A Caller Named 'Baby'

Rhys explained seriously, "There are many clinical cases like this. The more you love someone, the easier it is to forget them. Sometimes, you might even forget the person you care about the most."

Nora stared blankly at the photo on her phone.

In the photo, she and Isaac were hugging each other, smiling so sweetly.

Could it be that she had really mistaken the person she loved the most? But even if she had, why would Mortimer deceive her?

"Am I good friends with Mortimer?" Nora asked softly.

Rhys nodded. "Yes, you and Mortimer were the first to meet. You met Isaac through Mortimer, and the three of you have always been good friends. Mortimer and Isaac have known each other since they were kids."

Nora asked again, "Then how did they become enemies?"

Rhys hesitated. The reason for Isaac and Mortimer's falling out was hard to explain.

At this moment, Isaac, who was sitting in the front, although he didn't speak, his cold aura made everyone shiver.

Rhys swallowed and said, "It's not my place to say, and I don't know the details. When you regain your memory, you'll naturally understand."

Nora pressed her lips tightly together, her hands subconsciously clenching.

A familiar stabbing pain returned to her head.

Then the pain intensified.

She trembled all over from the pain, dropping her phone to the floor. And she clutched her head with both hands, pulling at her hair, crying out in agony.

"Nora, what's wrong?" Isaac immediately asked worriedly upon hearing that.

But Nora was in so much pain that she couldn't hear anything.

Isaac then shouted at Rhys, "What are you standing there for? Do something!"

Rhys, seeing Nora in such a state, felt a pang of guilt. But he resisted the urge to intervene.

He said, "Don't worry, Nora's amnesia is definitely problematic, but we can't find anything wrong under normal circumstances. Let me try stimulating her thoughts to see if we can find any abnormalities."

Isaac pressed his lips tightly together, his whole body exuding a dangerous aura.

Rhys quickly added, "Don't worry, I won't let Nora be in any danger. If I sense that, I'll act immediately!"

Isaac's face remained grim.

After a few seconds, he ordered in a deep voice, "Stop her from thinking, help her now!"

Rhys frowned. "Don't you want her to regain her memory? This is key to finding the cause."

Isaac said, "No, I don't."

Rhys looked at him in surprise, wondering why.

But soon, he understood.

So much had happened between Isaac and Nora, so many misunderstandings and barriers. Even if Nora regained her memory, it didn't mean she would reconcile with Isaac.

Now that Nora had amnesia, they could deceive themselves, pretending the past never happened and stay together.

Rhys said no more. He then pinched the back of Nora's neck, doing something that made her instantly pass out.

When they arrived at the hospital, Isaac carried Nora inside.

Rhys took a brain scan of Nora. There were some abnormalities, but nothing conclusive.

Then he drew several vials of blood from Nora and told Isaac to take her home first. Once the results were out he would contact Isaac.

Just as they reached the doorstep, Nora woke up. She was startled in Isaac's arms, and then she quickly jumped out of his embrace.

Isaac felt a bit disappointed, but he resisted the urge to hold her again.

"Are you still feeling unwell?" He asked gently.

Nora didn't answer but asked, "Why are we back? Aren't we going to continue the tests?" She no longer resisted the tests. On the contrary, she hoped it would be thorough, hoping to find a way to regain her memory.

Isaac said, "We already did the tests while you were unconscious."

Nora asked urgently, "What were the results?"

Isaac said, "The results aren't out yet. Rhys took some blood for testing, and it will take some time."

Nora fell silent.

Isaac said, "I'll tell you as soon as the results are out."

"Got it." Nora nodded.

After the conversation, both fell silent, and things became awkward.

Isaac said, "From now on, just stay here. Whether you regain your memory or not, you're my wife, and this is your home."

Nora lowered her eyes, not speaking but not resisting either. She wasn't in the mood to argue now.

"Where's my phone?" She asked.

Isaac said, "I'll give you your old phone. The one you brought back from Drakonia, you don't need the one you brought from Drakonia anymore."

Nora was taken aback, her old phone?

Isaac went to the study and took her phone out of the safe.

The night Nora had her accident, before she went into surgery, all her belongings, including her phone, had been kept by him.

But the phone had run out of battery and shut down. He handed it to Nora. "I haven't looked at your phone. You can turn it on after charging it."

Nora then went to her room to charge it.

After about ten minutes, with 5% battery, she eagerly turned it on. The phone unlocked smoothly. Her eyes darkened a bit. Since her phone had been in Isaac's possession, further proving that she had known Isaac before.

The phone connected to the network, and a flood of messages started coming in, which made the phone lagged.

After nearly a minute, Nora was about to check the messages.

At that moment, a call came in. The caller ID read: [Baby.]

Nora was stunned.

Could it be that besides Isaac and Mortimer, she was involved with another man? Was her past private life that chaotic?

With a nervous heart, she answered the call.

"Mommy, you finally answered my call."
