Chapter 327 He Doesn't Believe Her

Magnus had been standing guard at the villa's entrance. So he could see everything happening outside and hear their conversation.

Upon hearing Isaac's words to drive Mortimer away, he immediately shouted in anger, "I want uncle Mortimer! Let me go with him! If you don't let me see him, then you're all bad people! And I hate you all!"

Mortimer looked stunned, his gaze lingering on Isaac for a moment before turning to Nora. "Nora, what on earth is going on? Why has Magnus become like this? What did you do to him?"

Isaac impatiently said, "This is our business, it's not for you to question. Get out now and don't ever show up in front of us again!"

Mortimer said, "I've watched Magnus grow up. You may not care about him, but I do. Now that I've seen him like this, how can I just do nothing?" Then his gaze locked onto Nora. "Nora, it's okay that Isaac doesn't care about Magnus. But you're his mother. How can you not care about him?"

Mortimer had already gotten the news from Magnus, knowing that Nora had admitted the kids were her own children. But Isaac still didn't know they were his own kids.

So, he deliberately said this, indirectly accusing Isaac of not caring about Magnus just because Magnus wasn't his biological son.

Nora frowned. "Isaac hasn't mistreated Magnus. He's been very good to him. This place was specially prepared for Magnus's lessons. He even hired professional child-rearing experts and renowned psychologists to follow Magnus daily. Isaac has done more for the children than I have. Don't misunderstand him."

Mortimer then glanced at the crying Magnus and asked in a serious tone, "Then why has he become like this?"

Nora's eyes dimmed. "It's my fault. I left without saying goodbye to him. He thought I was abandoning him and ended up like this."

Mortimer shook his head. "That's not it. I've watched him grow up. I know his character better than you do. He wouldn't change like this over something so small. He must have been subjected to other stress or threats, feeling extremely insecure, which is why he's reacting with hostility to the world," As he said this, he gave Isaac a pointed look.

Isaac's face turned dark, exuding a chilling aura. "Why are you looking at me like that? Are you suspecting that I threatened Magnus in private?" He asked through gritted teeth.

Mortimer said, "Look, you're full of annoyance and malice towards him. He can sense that you dislike him, and he has to live with you every day. How could he not go crazy?"

Isaac's face turned even darker. He thought, 'He used to be very good to Magnus. It was only after Magnus pushed Edmund that his attitude towards him changed. And it wasn't his fault that Magnus turned out this way. But Mortimer was putting all the blame on him. He already knew that Mortimer had no good intentions coming here!

Isaac sneered, "You don't need to sow discord here. Nora is with me every day. She knows me better than you do!"

Nora said, "Isaac has been very good to Magnus. Don't misunderstand him."

Mortimer sighed and shook his head helplessly. "Since you say so, I won't say anything more. But seeing Magnus like this really breaks my heart. Let me talk to him. I don't think you want him to keep crying like this, do you?"

Nora glanced at Isaac, whose face was very grim. And she knew that he was very opposed to letting Magnus and Mortimer interact.

But, hearing Magnus's cries, she couldn't harden her heart.

Finally, she nodded. "Alright, go in and see him."

Mortimer's face showed a gentle smile. "Don't worry, I'll talk to Magnus. I watched him grow up and I want him to live a happy life even more than you do."

Nora felt a bit guilty.

In the past three years, she hadn't personally taken care of the kids. What right did she have to stop Mortimer, who had personally cared for them for three years, from seeing them?

Mortimer stepped into the villa. And Magnus immediately threw himself at him.

He squatted down and picked Magnus up, gently comforting him.

In his arms, Magnus quickly became obedient, as if the spikes on his body were retracting one by one.

Nora reached out and held Isaac's hand, softly saying, "Before the kids turned three, it was always Mortimer who was taking care of them. That's why they like Mortimer so much."

Isaac's face remained grim.

Those were Mortimer's children and it was naturally that he was willing to be with them as they grew up.

Isaac then turned to look at Nora, gritting his teeth. "No matter how much those two kids like Mortimer, you can't be with him for their sake. You will always be my wife!"

Nora looked surprised. "I never thought about being with Mortimer. I only see him as a friend. I have no romantic feelings for him."

Isaac silently looked at her, his eyes filled with a dark, unreadable emotion.

He pondered, 'She had no romantic feelings for Mortimer? Then how did she end up with him back then? And how did she have two children with him? It was precisely because he was worried about her rekindling her old feelings for Mortimer that he was so opposed to her interacting with him. Especially with the bond of children, if they interacted again, it would be easier for them to develop feelings.'

Nora and Isaac walked into the villa together.

Under Mortimer's comfort, Magnus had calmed down.

He obediently lay in Mortimer's arms, the hostility in his eyes completely gone, as if the rebellious person from before wasn't him.

Nora saw the obedient side of Magnus again, and her nose tingled.

She thought, 'Magnus could still recover. And he didn't need to be sent away.'

Her emotions were a bit stirred. "Magnus."

Magnus lay in Mortimer's arms, unmoved.

Mortimer patted his back and gently said, "Magnus, you can't ignore people. Your mommy is calling you."
