Chapter 529 Cut Off His Feelings Completely
Nora saw Soren on the verge of tears and felt a pang of heartache. She reached out to wipe the tears from the corners of her eyes.
Then she continued, "I know you both really like Isaac, but he's not your biological father. In the future, he will have his own children."
"His paternal love and care for children will eventually be directed towards his own kids."
Soren cried out in sadness, "Daddy said that Magnus and I are his most beloved children, and no matter what happens in the future, that won't change. We will always be the ones he loves the most."
Nora hardened her heart and said, "That's just a polite thing he said to make you happy. You need to understand that you can't force him to do things that make him uncomfortable."
Soren cried even harder, but Nora didn't soften.
Today, she had to shatter Magnus and Soren's illusions about Isaac.
Even though she knew that Isaac was indeed Magnus and Soren's biological father. But she hadn't told anyone, and neither Magnus nor Soren knew, and Isaac didn't know either.
So, she had to treat the situation by deceiving them that Isaac wasn't their biological father.
Now Isaac was about to marry Amara, and Amara was going to have his child.
She needed to help Magnus and Soren adapt to life without Isaac and not rely on him so much.
Once Isaac had his new family, he would focus all his attention on them and wouldn't have the time or energy to care for Magnus and Soren.
She wouldn't allow Isaac to have any unclear ties with her after marrying Amara.
So, she had to make Magnus and Soren forget about Isaac.
Better a short pain than a long one.
Instead of letting them hope every day for Isaac to visit, it was better to deceive them directly.
After they cried, they would surely let go of their feelings quickly.
She just felt sorry for Magnus.
Magnus was still sick, and being unhappy would affect his health.
That was why she had been trying to hide the truth.
But now she couldn't hide it anymore, so she had to harden her heart and deceived them.
"Cry if you need to, but after that, you can't call him Daddy anymore. He's not your father. He's been very good to let you call him Daddy for so long."
"But he's about to have his own new family and his own children. If you keep calling him Daddy, his real children won't be happy."
"You need to be good and not cause trouble for others."
"In the future, if you see him, just treat him as an acquaintance."
"If you have to greet him, you can only call him Mr. Porter, not Daddy. Do you understand?"
"No!" Soren cried even more sadly, shaking her head in resistance. "Even if he's not my real Daddy, I still want him to be my Daddy. I don't want Mr. Porter; I only want Daddy!"
Nora's face darkened slightly, and she patiently said, "Soren, be good. He's not your Daddy. If you keep calling him Daddy, it will cause him trouble, and his own children will be unhappy."
"Remember what I taught you? We shouldn't cause trouble for others, especially those who are good to us. We should consider their feelings and situations, not just take their kindness without regard for their feelings and circumstances."
"If we only take and don't consider the other person's feelings, that's being ungrateful, and it shows we have a problem with our character."
Even though Isaac had betrayed her emotionally, he had done well in treating Magnus and Soren.
Without knowing that Magnus and Soren were his children, he had still treated them as his own, which was rare.
So, even though she was separating from Isaac, she couldn't badmouth him in front of Magnus and Soren.
Soren was still crying sadly, "But I really can't bear to lose Daddy."
Nora hugged her and gently patted her back, "With time, you'll get used to it. You were fine before without a Daddy, weren't you?"
Soren cried and whimpered.
After a while, Soren's crying subsided a bit, and she choked out, "Magnus and I really can't call him Daddy anymore even if we don't disturb his life?"
Nora shook her head, "No, you can't. He's about to have a new family. Even if you don't actively disturb him, calling him Daddy will cause a lot of trouble for him and his family."
"We need to understand boundaries and not cause trouble for him."
Even though Isaac and Amara's relationship wasn't entirely aboveboard, once they got married, they would be a legitimate couple, and she shouldn't disturb their life.
Naturally, her children shouldn't cause them trouble either.
She just wanted a clean break from Isaac.
"I understand." Soren, still crying sadly, was finally persuaded.
Nora breathed a sigh of relief and gently patted her little head.
Soren was so understanding that made her heart ache.
After comforting Soren, Nora looked at the always quiet Magnus.
Magnus's calmness surprised her.
He had always been the more sensitive one, so she thought he would be the one to make a fuss.
But unexpectedly, Magnus was so calm?
Nora couldn't help but ask, "Magnus, aren't you sad?"
Magnus nodded, "Sad?"
Nora asked in confusion, "Then why are you so calm? Not saying a word?"
Soren poked her head out of Nora's embrace, looking at Magnus curiously, "Yeah, Magnus, why aren't you crying? We're not going to have Daddy anymore."
Magnus said, "Daddy betrayed Mommy. If we can't let go of him, Mommy will be very sad."
Nora was stunned, looking at Magnus in shock.
Her heart suddenly ached, and her eyes felt like they were about to overflow with tears.
When she was sad, she feared sudden concern from others the most.
"Magnus, why would you say that?" Nora asked, her voice trembling.
Magnus looked up at Nora, his bright eyes reflecting a deeper understanding, "Mommy, you already know Daddy has a lover, right?"
Nora's body stiffened, her eyes full of shock, "What are you talking about?"
Magnus said, "Last time when you and Uncle Mortimer took me to the hospital, I saw Daddy when we left the hospital."
