Chapter 251 He will Help her with Anything
Isaac's words kept bouncing around in her head, each one hitting her right in the feels.
"Fine, I'll crash in the guest room," Isaac's deep voice cut through Nora's thoughts.
Nora let out a quiet sigh of relief.
Thank goodness he didn't push it.
If he had tried to use the contract to pressure her, she might not have been able to say no.
She had sworn an oath on Magnus and Soren. If Isaac had pushed her to do her "wifely" duties, she had to comply with him. she couldn't risk Magnus and Soren.
Even though she wasn't usually superstitious, when it came to her loved ones, she'd rather be safe than sorry.
"It's already morning, get some sleep. Skip work today, just chill at home," Isaac said, sounding concerned.
Nora had been feeling pretty down lately. She needed some good rest to bounce back. Now that her kids were back, she could focus on getting better without too many worries.
"Got it." She nodded lightly.
As she reached the door, she turned around and saw Isaac still standing there, looking at her with those deep eyes.
Seeing her turn back, he smiled lightly and asked, "What's up? Something else on your mind?"
Nora looked at him and said seriously, "Thanks for helping me find Magnus and Soren."
Isaac chuckled, "You've already thanked me, and I've told you, I helped you with conditions. You don't owe me, so stop thanking me. Besides, we're married. As long as you don't leave me or look for another guy, I'll help you with anything."
Nora's heart trembled, and she subconsciously clenched her hands.
Isaac's acting was really convincing.
Looking at Isaac's serious expression, she almost believed him. If she hadn't been deeply betrayed before, she might have been moved by now.
"Goodnight." Nora went into her room and closed the door.
She slept until two in the afternoon. She hadn't been sleeping well lately, and with Magnus and Soren back, all the exhaustion hit her at once. Even after waking up, she still felt tired.
Magnus and Soren were probably in the same boat, maybe even worse, as they were still sleeping. But Nora was worried that sleeping too much during the day would mess up her night, so she didn't go back to sleep.
She gently stroked Magnus and Soren's much thinner cheeks, kissed them each on the face, and then quietly got up. She planned to make lunch and then wake them up.
But when she entered the kitchen, she found that there was already food in the warming box.
There were dishes she liked. And dishes that Magnus and Soren liked.
Isaac had made them.
Nora paused for a few seconds with mixed feelings, then turned back to wake Magnus and Soren.
"Sweeties, time to get up~" She half-lay on the bed and gently shook Magnus's shoulder.
Magnus groggily rubbed his eyes.
Nora chuckled softly and poked his soft little cheek.
"Mommy, what are you doing?" Magnus mumbled, his voice all sleepy and soft.
Nora's heart melted, and she kissed his cheek.
Magnus blinked up at her.
"Time to get up, buddy. It's already afternoon. Let's get some food, and then we can sleep again tonight," Nora said gently.
Magnus nodded obediently. "Okay."
Nora picked him up. "Let's get you washed up first, then I'll wake Soren."
"Got it." Magnus stayed super cooperative.
Nora carried him to the bathroom, helped him wash up, and then found a set of clothes for him. Then she went to wake Soren.
"Mommy, I haven't slept enough. I wanna sleep more." Soren pouted, burrowing back into the covers.
Nora patiently coaxed, "If you keep sleeping now, you won't be able to sleep tonight. When Magnus and I go to bed, you'll be left alone. Won't you be scared?"
Soren pouted. "No, I wanna be with Mommy. Don't leave me sleep alone~"
Nora laughed. "If you don't want to be left alone tonight, then get up and eat with us now, and we'll sleep together tonight."
Soren kept pouting and didn't want to get up.
But Nora was firm, making it clear that she wouldn't wait up for her to sleep together at night.
In the end, Soren reluctantly got up.
"Mommy, carry me~" She stretched out her arms, asking for a hug.
Nora indulgently picked her up, took her to wash up, and then found clothes for her. After that, she took them out and served the food Isaac had made on the table.
"Mommy, did Uncle Isaac make this? It's so good. Uncle Isaac's cooking is the best~" Soren said, eating happily.
Magnus didn't say anything, but his actions showed he agreed with Soren.
"Yep, Isaac made it. If you like it, eat up," Nora said with mixed feelings. She had cooked for Magnus and Soren before, and while they ate it without complaining, she could tell they were just trying to make her happy.
Soren asked, "Mommy, will Uncle Isaac always cook for us?"
Nora paused and asked, "Do you like Uncle Isaac a lot?"
Soren nodded without hesitation. "Yeah, I like him. Uncle Isaac is awesome. He's amazing at all the games we play!"
Magnus also nodded silently.
Nora's feelings grew more complicated.
Magnus and Soren liked Isaac so much, but Isaac might not feel the same. They were still young, and she could let them wear masks and interact with Isaac for now.
But this wasn't a long-term solution.
She couldn't let them wear masks for their whole lives, could she?
And even if they wore masks, spending a lot of time with Isaac would eventually risk exposure.
She would eventually send Magnus and Soren away and wouldn't let them stay with Isaac forever.
She decided to prevent Magnus and Soren from having too much contact with Isaac.
