Chapter 284 She Was Mistaken for a Pervert
Mortimer said in a deep voice, "Arrange for people to search the ports where he could have landed and see if he came ashore."
Although survival was unlikely, he remained particularly cautious.
Better safe than sorry.
Horatio replied, "Yes, I'll arrange it right away!"
Nora arrived at the hospital and ran into Wesley at the entrance.
"Mrs. Porter," Wesley said.
"How's the accident investigation going?" Nora asked.
Wesley sighed. "The traffic police said that Mr. Porter was hit by a large truck. The truck driver was driving under the influence, and after hitting Mr. Porter, he fled the scene. But he didn't get far before he drove off a bridge into a river, where he died in the crash. That's all we know for now, but I've asked people to continue checking to see if it was really an accident or if someone was trying to harm Mr. Porter."
Nora nodded.
They didn't speak further and went together to Isaac's intensive care unit.
Rhys had just finished an examination and was walking out.
Nora quickly stepped forward and asked anxiously, "How is Isaac?"
Rhys said, "He is out of danger and can be moved to a regular ward."
Nora felt relieved.
The hospital immediately arranged for Isaac to be transferred to a regular ward.
After Isaac was moved, Nora went in to see him.
Isaac was awake but still wrapped in bandages from head to toe, looking like a mummy.
Seeing Isaac in such a pitiful state, Nora laughed.
Isaac looked at her with a resentful gaze.
Feeling guilty, Nora touched her nose and sat down by the bed. "How are you feeling?"
Isaac weakly said, "Not great, everything hurts."
Nora suggested, "Should I call Rhys back to give you some painkillers?"
Isaac said, "Seeing you makes the pain go away."
Nora fell silent.
Isaac looked at her expectantly. "If you kiss me, it'll hurt even less and help me heal faster."
Nora rolled her eyes at him. "You're wrapped up like a mummy and still not behaving. Do you have to be on your deathbed to behave?"
Isaac chuckled. But laughing pulled at the wounds on his face, and blood instantly seeped through the bandages.
"Don't move, your face is bleeding. I'll get the doctor!" Nora was startled and quickly stood up to call for a doctor.
Isaac grabbed her hand. "Don't worry, it's fine. It doesn't hurt much."
Nora said, "Even if it doesn't hurt, if it's not treated, it'll leave a scar, and your face will be ruined!"
Isaac nonchalantly said, "I don't care. I rely on my brains, not my looks."
Nora smirked, "But the only thing I'm satisfied with about you right now is your face."
Isaac's expression froze, and he quickly let go of her hand, urging, "Go get Rhys back. He's more skilled."
Nora held back a laugh, left the room, and had the bodyguard at the door contact Rhys.
Rhys returned quickly. He said impatiently, "I just left a few minutes ago, and you're calling me back already. What's the matter?"
Isaac said, "My face is bleeding."
Rhys said, "It's just a small wound. A nurse can change the dressing."
Isaac insisted, "No, the nurse isn't as skilled as you. It might leave a scar."
Rhys's mouth twitched. "You're a grown man. Why are you afraid of a scar?"
Even if it did leave a scar, he had medicine to help remove it.
Isaac said, "No, it can't leave a scar. If it does, I won't be able to seduce Nora."
Nora choked on her own saliva, her face instantly turning red. She glared at him. "Stop talking nonsense!"
Isaac's eyes looked aggrieved.
Nora turned to Rhys and seriously asked, "Rhys, I think you should prescribe something to make him mute. His constant babbling isn't good for his recovery."
Rhys glanced at Isaac and said gleefully, "I think Nora's suggestion is great. I'll bring the medicine over later, and you can give it to him yourself. I also have medicine that can make him mute for life. Do you need that?"
Isaac's eyes seemed to shoot fire as he glared at Rhys.
Rhys pretended not to see. He loudly conspired with Nora on how to make Isaac mute while skillfully changing his dressings and bandages. "With my medicine, the wound will heal in two or three days. After that, apply the scar removal ointment, and it should be completely gone in about a month," He said, handing a bottle of medicine to Nora, "This medicine needs to be applied three times a day. Keep track of the time and help him apply it."
Nora took the medicine and nodded.
Rhys turned to leave, smirking, "Do you still want the medicine to make him mute?"
Isaac shouted, "Get out!"
Rhys left, laughing. Seeing Isaac frustrated made him happy.
With the door closed, only Nora and Isaac were left in the room.
Nora said irritably, "You're injured and still have such a bad temper. When will you ever calm down?"
Isaac said in a pitiful tone, "He wants to make me mute. Can't I be angry? I'm your husband. Why aren't you on my side?"
Nora said, "You are indeed very noisy."
Isaac said, "I'm only noisy in front of you."
Nora was momentarily speechless.
"Honey, I'm hungry," Isaac spoke.
"Wesley has already arranged for someone to make porridge for you. It'll be here soon," Nora answered.
"But I'm hungry now," Isaac added.
"How about I peel an apple for you?" Nora said.
"I don't want an apple," Isaac replied.
"What do you want to eat?" Nora asked.
"I want to eat your saliva," Isaac responded.
Nora took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to hit him.
"Honey, you owe me two days' worth of kisses. Pay up now," Isaac said.
Nora's face turned red and then pale. She gritted her teeth. "It's your fault the agreement couldn't be fulfilled. There's no such thing as owing!"
Isaac said, "But we never said it couldn't be owed before."
Nora didn't respond.
"Alright, stop acting pitiful. I'll pay you back!" She sat by the bed, looking at Isaac's comical appearance. After some mental preparation, she leaned down and kissed his lips.
Just as they were lost in the kiss, the door to the room opened.
Nora heard the sound and quickly straightened up. She turned to see Rhys and Wesley standing at the door, looking shocked.
Her face instantly turned beet red, feeling so embarrassed she wished she could disappear.
Rhys cleared his throat and awkwardly said, "I understand young people can be impulsive, but Isaac is still injured. Try to hold off on intimate activities for about a week. If you really can't wait that long, at least give it three to five days."
Nora's face turned even redder. She felt her reputation was completely ruined.
In Rhys's eyes, she was probably already a nymphomaniac.
