Chapter 362 Silent Companionship

Nora cried and hit Isaac for a long time before gradually calming down.

She wiped away her tears forcefully, didn't look at Isaac again, and turned to walk towards the door.

She wanted to be with Soren.

Soren had been kidnapped for so long, she must be very fragile and likely to have nightmares.

When Magnus and Soren were sold to the mountains, they had nightmares for a long time after returning. She slept with them every night until they gradually forgot the trauma.

Now she needed to be with Soren to prevent her from waking up in the middle of the night and being scared if no one was around.

However, Isaac grabbed her arm and held her back.

"Let go of me, Soren needs me. She must be very scared right now, I should be by her side!" Nora said, her voice choked with emotion.

The person most to blame for the child's abduction was the trafficker; she didn't blame Isaac for it.

But Isaac shouldn't have kept it from her, shouldn't have conspired with Edmund to deceive her.

Regardless of whether she could accept it or whether it would hurt her, she had the right to know.

Isaac had no right to deprive her of that knowledge.

She wouldn't cut ties with Isaac because of this, but she was still angry and didn't want to talk to him.

Isaac said in a deep voice, "There's one more thing I need to tell you, it's about Soren."

Nora's heart tightened, "What is it?"

Isaac said, "Soren has a hearing problem. She seems to be unable to hear anything now."

What?

Soren can't hear?

Nora's body swayed, feeling dizzy and a sharp pain in her heart.

No wonder when she picked up Soren today, she felt something was off. When Soren cried and spoke, her tone was strange.

She had thought it was just because Soren was emotionally agitated.

She didn't expect that Soren couldn't hear, couldn't distinguish tone and speed, which is why she spoke so strangely and didn't want to talk.

Nora started crying again.

She really wasn't a qualified mother.

She hadn't even noticed.

"Honey, don't cry. Once Soren has rested enough, I'll take her to see Rhys. Rhys will help treat her, and she'll be fine."

"Medical technology is so advanced now, Soren will recover."

Isaac hugged Nora, comforting her with a pained heart.

He was comforting Nora, but also comforting himself.

To be honest, he wasn't very confident that Soren could fully recover.

Isaac was also scared.

Scared that Soren's ears couldn't be healed.

If she couldn't be healed, he would feel guilty for the rest of his life.

Nora pushed Isaac away and walked out of the room without saying a word.

She wanted to be with Soren.

Isaac silently followed behind Nora.

Nora tiptoed into Soren's room.

Soren was curled up on the bed, hugging a doll. Nora's nose stung at the sight.

Nora carefully lay down next to Soren and gently held her in her arms.

As if sensing her mother's warm embrace, Soren instinctively snuggled closer, her tense body relaxing a bit.

Isaac sat nearby, silently accompanying them.

He didn't dare lie down, afraid that Nora would resent him.

The next morning, when Soren woke up and saw herself in Nora's arms, her face lit up with joy. She hugged Nora's neck tightly, her soft little face rubbing against Nora.

"Mommy! I'm really back, it's not a dream!"

Soren's voice was sometimes loud, sometimes soft, and her tone was strange.

After saying a couple of sentences, Soren's eyes reddened, and she whimpered, "Mommy, I can't hear, I can't hear!"

Nora's heart ached, and she hugged Soren tightly, "It's okay, it's going to be okay. I'll be with you and we'll get your ears treated."

But Soren couldn't hear, she just kept crying.

Nora could only hold her tightly, gently patting her back to comfort her with body language.

Isaac watched from the side, his heart aching as well. He could only silently reach out his big hand and gently rub her little head.

After crying for a while, Soren's sobs subsided.

She reached out and rubbed her flat little tummy.

Nora wiped away her tears and picked her up from the bed, "Are you hungry? I'll take you to wash up first, then we'll go downstairs for breakfast."

Nora carried Soren to the bathroom.

Isaac touched his chin, feeling the stubble.

He took the opportunity to go upstairs, quickly tidied himself up, took a shower, and changed into fresh clothes.

When he came downstairs, Nora was already in the dining room with Soren, and Magnus had been sent to kindergarten.

The maid brought out breakfast.

But Soren didn't seem to like it.

Seeing Isaac walk over, she looked at him expectantly.

Isaac chuckled, "Do you want me to make breakfast? Wait a moment, I'll make it for you."

Soren blinked.

She couldn't hear, but seemed to understand what Isaac was saying, nodding expectantly.

Before going to the kitchen, Isaac looked at Nora, "You should go upstairs and wash up, your face is covered in tear stains."

Nora asked the maid to take care of Soren and went upstairs to wash up.

When she came back down, Isaac had already prepared breakfast.

He made three servings of spaghetti.

Simple spaghetti, but when he made it, it had a unique, irreplicable deliciousness.

Nora had tried to make it the same way before, but it just didn't taste the same. The kids didn't like her version, and she didn't like it either.

She couldn't understand why the same steps produced such different results.

Nora collected her thoughts and sat down on Soren's right side.

She was about to feed Soren.

Although Soren could eat by herself, she was still clumsy with things like spaghetti.

And spaghetti was hot, she was afraid Soren would burn her mouth.

But just as she raised her hand, Isaac moved Soren's plate closer to him.

Then, he picked Soren up and placed her on his lap.

"You eat first, the spaghetti won't taste good if it gets cold. I'll feed Soren." Isaac said calmly.

Nora pursed her lips and gave Isaac a cold look.

She knew Isaac wanted to make amends, and she didn't refuse.

Isaac took twenty minutes to feed Soren.

Then he took less than three minutes to finish his own spaghetti.

Nora wanted to remind him not to eat too fast, it was bad for his stomach.

But she swallowed the words.

She was still angry, she couldn't show concern for Isaac.

After finishing his meal, Isaac said to Nora, "I made some medicine for you. You can drink it after breakfast, and then we'll take Soren to the hospital."

Nora looked at Isaac in confusion, what medicine did she need to drink?
