Chapter 300 Isaac Forcefully Takes Her Away
The doctor finished speaking, shook his head, and walked away with a sigh.
Nora covered her mouth tightly, sobbing uncontrollably. She wanted to smile, to face things positively. But which mother can stay calm after hearing that her child might become disabled?
Due to excessive grief and lack of rest over the past few days, her vision darkened, and her body swayed.
Suddenly, a strong arm reached around her waist from behind. Then, she was pulled into a warm, solid embrace. The dizziness in her head subsided a bit. She turned to look at the person, her body instantly stiffening. With red-rimmed eyes, she immediately tried to push him away.
But Isaac directly lifted her up horizontally, walking out with a stern face.
"What are you doing? Put me down!" Nora screamed angrily, hitting and scratching him wildly.
Isaac's face quickly bore red marks from her scratches. But he continued to carry her out with large strides.
"Isaac, I told you to let me go!" Nora's face turned livid with anger, and she struggled even more fiercely.
Isaac soon carried Nora to the garage and forcibly put her into the car.
Nora immediately tried to rush out of the car door.
Isaac pushed her back in, gritting his teeth. "Look at yourself now. You look like you're on the verge of death. Do you want to scare Magnus to death, or do you want him to know that he's beyond saving, and that's why you're so haggard?" As he spoke, he threw a mirror onto her lap.
Nora picked up the mirror and took a glance.
When her reflection appeared in the mirror, her pupils contracted, and a look of horror appeared in her eyes. Then mirror slipped from her hand. She then reached out in horror to touch her face.
How did she become so haggard? Her hair was oily and messy, her face was terrifyingly gaunt, her cheeks had sunken in, and her eyes were lifeless. She now looked more like a patient than most of the patients in the hospital. No wonder Soren had been looking at her with fear these past few days.
Nora covered her face, tears streaming uncontrollably through her fingers, her small body trembling uncontrollably.
Isaac looked at her and sighed softly, feeling a dense pain in his heart. He raised his hand and gently patted her head. "Go back and get some sleep, clean yourself up, and then go see Magnus. Don't scare him."
Nora cried, "But I can't sleep." For the past three days, she couldn't sleep or eat.
Even now, knowing that Magnus was out of danger, just thinking about his conditions made her even more anxious. Her mind was in turmoil. Even though her body was exhausted to the extreme, she still couldn't feel sleepy at all.
Isaac stared at her for a few seconds, then silently helped her fasten her seatbelt. Then he got into the car and drove back to his villa.
Nora was so immersed in her grief that she didn't even realize she had been taken to his house. When the car stopped, she still hadn't snapped out of her sadness.
Isaac got out, and brought her into the villa, into a room.
After entering the room, Isaac went to the bathroom and filled the bathtub with hot water. Then he carried Nora into the bathroom.
It wasn't until she was placed in the warm water that she came to her senses. Her hands slid down from her face, and she saw that she had been placed in the bathtub, and Isaac was sitting beside the tub. She screamed.
Then, without hesitation, she slapped Isaac hard across the face.
The crisp sound of the slap echoed in the bathroom for a while.
A handprint instantly appeared on Isaac's face.
"What are you doing?" Nora asked angrily, glaring at him with red eyes.
Isaac said, "I called you, but you didn't respond, so I had to take the liberty of undressing you. But don't worry, I didn't touch you inappropriately."
Nora's face turned red and then blue with anger.
But before she could get angry again, Isaac stood up calmly, and walked out.
As he walked, he said, "Since you're awake, clean yourself up. I'll wait for you outside."
Nora's chest heaved with anger. She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths to calm down. Then she washed herself from head to toe under the showerhead.
When she came out, she found Isaac still in the room and she ignored him and went to find some clothes.
Isaac had prepared a lot of clothes for her after forcibly bringing her back, which were still there.
Nora casually picked out a set of clothes, planning to go back to the bathroom to change and then leave immediately.
However, just as she was about to go to the bathroom to change, Isaac suddenly walked over, grabbed her wrist, and threw the clothes back into the wardrobe.
Nora glared at Isaac angrily. "What exactly do you want?"
Isaac said, "You need to rest now. Although you washed your hair and took a bath, you still look very haggard. You need to get some sleep and regain your energy. Otherwise, not only will you look scary, but you might also collapse."
Nora gritted her teeth and said, "I'll go home to rest!"
But Isaac, without saying a word, picked her up and put her on the bed. "Sleep here. If you go back to your place, where everything reminds you of Magnus, you'll be even more unable to sleep."
Nora fell silent.
That was indeed true.
Every night, when she thought about how Magnus used to sleep beside her but was now lying alone in the hospital, she became too anxious to sleep.
"Then let go of me. I can sleep by myself!" Nora took a deep breath and poked him with her finger.
After putting her on the bed, Isaac had also lain down and was still holding her.
She was already annoyed by the sight of him, and being held by him made her even more annoyed.
They hadn't reconciled, and now with Magnus's situation, her resentment towards Isaac had only grown.
