Chapter 302 I Know She Is Your Child
"Got it." Nora didn't refuse Isaac's kindness. She wouldn't let her pride get in the way of Magnus's health. As long as Magnus could fully recover and keep his right hand and foot, she would even be willing to kneel to Isaac.
Nora drove to the art studio.
After a brief conversation with Sophia, she took Soren away.
Isaac offered to drive, letting Nora sit in the back with Soren.
Soren's eyes sparkled as he looked at Isaac's back and asked, "Daddy, why haven't you come home these past few days? Mommy and I miss you so much. Will you come back?"
Nora's face darkened, and she immediately warned, "Don't talk nonsense. When did I ever miss him?"
Soren pouted, feeling wronged. "I'm not talking nonsense. Daddy hasn't come home these days, and Mommy hasn't been sleeping well. Mommy misses Daddy just like I do."
"That's because..." Nora instinctively wanted to retort but suddenly stopped halfway. She couldn't tell Soren the truth, otherwise, Soren would worry about Magnus's condition.
Isaac said softly, "I've been busy these days. I'll come back in a few days."
Soren asked, "When will that be? Since you and Magnus haven't been home, it's been so quiet. I'm not used to it."
Isaac said, "I'll come home tonight."
Soren's face immediately lit up with a happy smile. Then she asked, "What about Magnus? When can he come home? I haven't seen him in so many days. I miss him."
Isaac pressed his lips together, unsure how to tell Soren the truth.
Nora said, "Magnus will need some more time."
Soren's mood immediately dropped. "How much longer? I'm alone every day now, even at school. I miss Magnus."
Nora felt a pang of sadness. She also wanted Magnus to come home soon, to go to school with his sister together.
But Magnus was still lying in a hospital bed.
Soren asked, "Mommy, is Magnus very sick? Why hasn't he been discharged after so many days?"
Nora comforted, "You don't need to worry too much. He is out of danger. He just needs some time to recover."
Soren pouted. "What about Edmund?"
Nora's eyes dimmed, and a wave of guilt surged in her heart. She had been so focused on Magnus these days that she hadn't visited Edmund. And she didn't even know how Edmund was doing now.
Isaac's deep voice came from the front. "His condition is stable. Don't worry."
Edmund was stable in a coma. And no one knew when he would wake up.
However, before Rhys went abroad, he mentioned that his lab had a highly advanced machine. If they could bring it back to clear the blood clots in Edmund's brain, then Edmund would wake up soon. And the success rate was as high as ninety percent.
Back home, Isaac personally prepared dinner.
It had been several days since it was this lively, and Soren visibly became happier.
Nora felt stifled. She didn't want Soren to like Isaac too much, especially after Isaac had someone injure Magnus. She feared that Isaac might harm Soren in the future. But seeing Soren so happy, she couldn't bear to ruin the harmonious atmosphere.
At night, when Nora was about to take Soren to bed, Soren grabbed Isaac's hand tightly and wouldn't let go.
"Daddy, can you sleep with me tonight? I'm scared without Magnus." Soren looked up at him pitifully.
Before Isaac could speak, Nora sternly refused, "No, he can't sleep with you. I'll stay with you. You don't need to be afraid."
Soren said, feeling wronged. "But I want Daddy to stay with me. Mommy, let him sleep with us."
Nora's face changed with anger, but she couldn't bear to refuse the pitiful Soren. Then she gritted her teeth and said, "Then go sleep in the guest room with him!"
"No!" Soren shook her head vigorously. "I want to sleep with both Daddy and Mommy."
Nora scolded, "Stop being unreasonable!"
Tears immediately welled up in Soren's eyes, and she choked. "I used to sleep with Mommy and Magnus. I'm used to the three of us sleeping together. Now it's just me and Mommy, I can't sleep well. The teacher and classmates said I have dark circles!"
Nora didn't say anything because Soren's spirits hadn't been good these days indeed.
Soren said pitifully, "Mommy, let Daddy sleep with us."
Nora still felt resistant.
Isaac said in a deep voice, "Since Soren wants it, you should fulfill her wish. If she doesn't sleep well at night, she won't be able to focus at school during the day, and it will affect her health."
Nora gritted her teeth.
Isaac said, "Don't worry, I won't do anything to you. We'll each sleep on one side, and Soren will sleep in the middle."
Seeing that he had said this much and Soren's eager face, Nora finally nodded in agreement. "Do whatever you want!" she said sullenly.
Soren jumped up happily. "Thank you, Mommy. You're the best!" She held both Isaac's hand and Noras', happily saying, "Finally, I can sleep with Daddy and Mommy. I won't have nightmares tonight!"
Hearing this, Nora felt heartbroken. She only knew that Soren hadn't been sleeping well these nights but didn't realize she was having nightmares.
Since Isaac was sleeping with them, Nora had to let Soren wear a mask to bed.Although it was uncomfortable, Soren was still very happy. She lay in the middle, holding their hands, and sweetly fell asleep.
But when she turned over in her sleep, the mask would press against her soft cheeks. Nora had to carefully adjust her body to keep her lying flat, preventing the mask from hurting her face.
But children move a lot in their sleep, so Nora had to constantly watch her sleeping position and adjust it as needed.
Suddenly, Isaac's deep, magnetic voice sounded in her ear. "Take off her mask. Wearing it to sleep will affect her rest."
Nora didn't say anything, nor did she intend to remove Soren's mask for she couldn't let Isaac see Soren's face.
At this moment, Isaac's voice sounded again. "You don't need to hide it anymore. I know she's your biological child."
