Chapter 333 Personally Verify Her Words

"I don't like him," Nora said seriously. "My feelings for him are just those of an ordinary friend, without any romantic involvement."

Isaac looked at her with deep eyes, "Then who do you like?"

Nora's heart started to race.

"I like you."

Isaac said, "I don't believe you."

Nora was speechless.

She had mustered up so much courage to say it, and this was his reaction?

Nora glared at him, "Believe it or not, I said it!"

She pushed Isaac away and angrily turned to the bathroom.

"You sleep in the study tonight. I don't want to see you!"

Leaving him with that, she forcefully closed the bathroom door.

But halfway through her shower, Isaac walked in.

And he was naked.

Nora was too shocked to speak.

Isaac had already walked up behind her and pulled her into his arms.

"I'm not sleeping in the study. You said you like me, and if you like someone, you naturally sleep together."

Isaac rested his chin on her shoulder, his face pressed against hers, gently rubbing.

Nora's face heated up. She grabbed his hand that was wrapped around her waist but restlessly moving upward, gritting her teeth, "Get out. We can talk after I finish my shower!"

Isaac said, "I'll shower with you."

Nora refused, "No!"

Isaac said softly, "You said you like me. What's wrong with showering with someone you like?"

"Or were you lying about liking me?"

Nora gritted her teeth, "You said you didn't believe me?"

Isaac said matter-of-factly, "That's why I need to verify if you're sincere or lying."

Nora said irritably, "How can showering together verify anything?"

Isaac said, "Of course it can. If you truly like someone, you wouldn't refuse intimate actions with him. The more intimate, the more you like him."

"When we were dating, didn't we often shower together? We even went to the bathroom together."

Nora fell silent.

She recalled their shameless life when they first moved in together.

Back then, Isaac couldn't get enough of her.

Even when she went to the bathroom, he would bring a stool to sit with her.

When she showered, Isaac would shamelessly follow her in, insisting on showering together.

And every time, they would end up doing other things, often taking one or two hours to come out of the bathroom.

Nora's face was burning.

She bit her lip and said, "Let go of me. How can I shower with you holding me?"

Isaac said, "I'll help you shower."

Nora objected, "No, I'll do it myself!"

But her protest was in vain.

Isaac was no longer afraid of making her angry and giving in to her.

He had reverted to his shameless, rogue self.

He insisted on helping her shower.

And as expected, they ended up doing other things.

In the end, Isaac carried her out of the bathroom.

The next day, Isaac had to go abroad for a few days because of a company project.

He held Nora's hand, looking at her pitifully. "Honey, can you come with me on this trip? I'm scared to be alone."

Nora's mouth twitched.

He was overacting.

Isaac used to travel alone all the time and was never scared. Now he was saying he was scared to travel alone?

Did he think she would believe that?

Isaac saw through Nora's thoughts and hugged her, saying softly, "I'm scared of being lonely, scared that someone will try to take you away while I'm gone."

Nora's heart softened.

Was Isaac worried that she would see Mortimer and get too close to him while he was away?

Nora said, "I can't go with you. If I leave, what about the kids? They would be scared without me around."

"I promise I won't meet Mortimer alone or have unnecessary contact with him."

Isaac grumbled a bit but finally let her go reluctantly.

Nora personally took him to the airport.

Before entering the gate, he hugged Nora tightly and kissed her for several minutes.

"Wait for me to come back."

"Go on, your flight is about to leave."

Only then did Isaac reluctantly leave.

Nora watched him go until he was out of sight, then turned and left the airport, driving straight to the art studio.

Sophia's belly was getting bigger, and she was having trouble moving around.

Nora was worried. "Sophia, how much longer until you give birth? You seem to be having a hard time moving around. Maybe you should stop coming to the studio for now? I can raise the salary and see if we can hire a suitable artist."

Sophia smiled. "It's okay. I still have three months until my due date. I can work for at least two months."

"It's not that we haven't had applicants, but either their skills weren't good enough or their style didn't match. So I didn't hire anyone."

"Our studio has been open for so many years, and we have a lot of regular customers or new customers referred by regulars. They come for our style. We can't just hire anyone and hand over the work to them."

Nora was silent.

That was indeed a problem.

Their conditions weren't bad, and they had many applicants.

But none of them were suitable.

"But if we don't hire anyone, I have to help my friend take care of her kids, and you have to give birth. After that, you'll need to take care of your own child. You won't be free for years, and we won't be able to work."

"Maybe we should close the studio and start another business?"

Nora had thought about changing careers for a while but was reluctant to close the studio they had run for so long.

But now, with Sophia about to give birth and her own need to take care of the kids, plus Magnus needing long-term emotional support, she had no choice but to consider changing careers.

They could switch to a more mainstream business and be behind-the-scenes owners.

Sophia laughed, "No need to change careers. I'm healthy and don't feel tired from being pregnant. I can work until the day before I give birth. Many people work until the day before they give birth. I can do it too!"

"After giving birth, I'll rest for a while and then come back to work. I'll hire someone to take care of the baby."

After all, the baby would be taken away right after birth, so she wouldn't need to take care of it.

She could come to the studio herself.

If Nora really couldn't manage the studio during her rest period, they could close for a month or two.

Nora frowned, still feeling uneasy.

Sophia said, "Alright, don't worry about the studio. Leave it to me!"

"Since you're here today, don't slack off. I'll give you some of the recent orders to take home and work on."

"Let me tell you, business has been great lately. I got an order for an exchange exhibition. They ordered twenty pieces at once, and they were very easy to deal with, no haggling. Five thousand dollars per piece, and they paid in full upfront!"
