Chapter 267 Isaac's Little Schemes
Nora shot him a look. "What do you want this time?"
Isaac grinned. "If I win again, besides calling me 'honey', you gotta give me a goodnight kiss every day."
"No way!" Nora shot back, crossing her arms.
Isaac just shrugged. "Alright, then no competition. I'm happy as things are."
Nora sighed, feeling defeated. "Fine, I agree. My request stays the same."
And with that, they kicked off another round.
Nora went first, putting on her game face.
She hit the second ring and felt a bit of relief. "No way you can hit the bullseye after spinning twenty times!"
Isaac just covered his eyes and started spinning.
After twenty spins, he stood still for a moment, then drew his bow and let the arrow fly.
Bullseye, again!
Nora was floored.
Isaac took off the blindfold, smiling. "You lost again."
Nora stared at him, utterly dumbfounded. "Seriously, how are you not dizzy after spinning twenty times? And how can you still hit the bullseye?"
Isaac chuckled. "If I wasn't good, how could I be your husband?"
Nora looked defeated.
Isaac probably thought she was silly for wanting to compete again, right?
And now, she lost again.
Isaac asked, "Another round?"
Nora glared. "No way, you're just bullying beginners!"
Isaac put an arm around her shoulder, trying to soothe her. "Don't be mad. Let's compete in something you're good at."
Nora perked up. "How about drawing?"
Isaac laughed. "Sure, whatever you want."
Since there were no drawing tools around, that didn't happen.
Instead, they joined Magnus and Soren in playing a bunch of other games.
The amusement park was huge, and they spent the whole day there without even seeing half of it.
There was a hotel at the park's entrance, though.
Isaac suggested they stay the night and keep playing the next day.
Nora agreed.
But when they went to book a room, there was only one left.
The receptionist said, "This room has two beds. Your family of four can squeeze in, it'll be enough."
They had to take it, worried they wouldn't find another place to stay.
Isaac took them to eat at the hotel and called his guys to bring their luggage.
By the time they finished eating, the luggage had just arrived.
Back in the room, Magnus and Soren crashed on one of the beds after their baths.
When Nora came out of the bath, she saw them all snuggled up.
They were sharing a bed, which meant she'd have to share with Isaac.
Nora tried to move Soren to the other bed so she could sleep with him and let Isaac sleep with Magnus.
But Magnus and Soren liked holding hands while they slept. As soon as Nora tried to separate them, they started to fuss.
Isaac said, "Leave them be. Let them sleep. We'll share a bed."
Nora glared at him.
Isaac promised, "I swear I won't do anything. The kids are here, no matter how much of a perv I am, I won't do anything in front of them."
The thought of sharing a bed with Isaac still made Nora feel awkward.
Ever since that incident, she had always kept her distance from him.
However, Isaac's careful attention had started to chip away at her resistance. She didn't feel as repulsed by him as before.
She even felt a subtle anticipation towards him, which left her a bit flustered.
Nora told herself she was just nervous.
She tucked the kids in and reluctantly lay down on the other bed.
Isaac went to take a shower.
Nora was exhausted from the day's activities and fell asleep quickly.
In a half-asleep state, she felt like someone was holding her.
She stayed in that daze, aware but not fully awake, lying comfortably in the warm embrace.
Until she felt a tingling sensation on her lips, and she suddenly woke up!
Opening her eyes, she saw Isaac's face inches from hers.
Isaac was kissing her?
Nora's mind went blank.
She immediately pushed Isaac away. "You..."
"Shh, keep it down. Don't wake the kids," Isaac whispered.
Nora suppressed her anger and whispered, "Didn't you say you wouldn't do anything? What are you doing?"
Isaac said innocently, "Did you forget what you promised today? You said you'd give me a goodnight kiss every day."
Nora's mouth twitched. "Fine, let's just forget it this time. Let me sleep!"
Isaac said, "How can we forget? I was only halfway through the kiss when you pushed me away. It doesn't count. You have to kiss me again."
Nora gritted her teeth. "Isaac, don't push your luck!"
Isaac said softly, "Did you forget what you have to call me from now on?"
"Fine, a kiss is a kiss!" Nora wasn't one to back down.
She leaned in, intending to give him a quick peck and pull away.
But as she was about to pull back, Isaac grabbed the back of her head.
The kiss deepened, going from light to intense.
Nora felt like all the air was being sucked out of her. Her breathing quickened, and her body grew hotter. The tingling sensation made her shiver.
Thinking about Magnus and Soren on the other bed, she felt both nervous and excited.
She thought she might be a bit of a pervert.
After what felt like forever, Isaac finally let go.
Her lips felt hot and numb, like they were swollen from his kiss.
"How could you..." Nora's eyes were watery, filled with a mix of shame and anger.
Isaac chuckled, "From now on, all goodnight kisses will be like this."
Nora wanted to object, but she heard someone turning over on the other bed.
Afraid of waking the kids, she swallowed her words.
She angrily turned her back to Isaac to sleep.
Isaac didn't come closer again.
But when she woke up the next morning, she found herself in his arms again.
Isaac met her questioning gaze and said, "You crawled into my arms yourself. I just adjusted my position."
Nora had nothing to say.
