Chapter 347 Never Thought of Not Wanting Him
Isaac was startled by his own suspicions, and a chill ran through his heart.
He didn't want to believe his child could be so malicious.
Those were just his guesses, it couldn't be the reality.
He was truly despicable, to think such malicious thoughts about a three-year-old child.
Isaac restrained the coldness in his eyes and softened his voice, "Magnus, tell me, what happened today? How did you come back, okay?"
Magnus said unhappily, "I already told you, I was with Mommy and Mortimer the whole time. I don't understand what you're talking about!"
Isaac kept staring into Magnus's eyes.
Magnus's gaze was calm, showing no signs of lying.
A three-year-old child couldn't possibly be that good at pretending.
In the past, when Magnus lied, he would get agitated and use anger to cover his guilt, but now he looked calm, clearly not lying.
Isaac frowned.
What was going on?
He had clearly seen Magnus and Soren together and saw them being taken away together.
But now, Magnus was telling him that he had been with Nora and Mortimer the whole time and hadn't seen Soren since they left in the morning?
If Magnus wasn't lying, then there was only one possibility, he wasn't Magnus!
Isaac scrutinized Magnus.
Magnus's eyes and exposed jaw looked just like before.
Isaac didn't want to make wild guesses.
To know the truth, he just needed to verify it directly.
He reached out and grabbed the mask on Magnus's face.
Magnus reacted quickly, immediately pressing down on the mask, angrily saying, "You can't touch my mask! Mommy said I have to wear it all the time!"
"Only Mommy and Mortimer can see my face, no one else!"
But he was only three years old, how could his strength compare to Isaac's?
Isaac easily removed the mask from Magnus's face.
Isaac was stunned as he looked at Magnus's face.
This face looked almost exactly like his own when he was a child.
It was the face he had seen that morning.
So, this was Magnus himself, not an imposter.
Since this was Magnus, it meant he had escaped on his own, so why was he lying?
"Bad guy, give me back my mask!" Magnus was very angry, clenching his small fists and hitting Isaac.
Magnus's eyes were filled with panic.
Mortimer had told him that under no circumstances should he let Isaac see his face.
But now, Isaac had seen his face. If Mortimer found out, he would definitely be angry and blame him.
Thinking that Mortimer would be angry and disappointed in him, Magnus couldn't help but start crying.
Seeing him cry, Isaac panicked a little.
He reached out to wipe his tears and said gently, "Magnus, don't cry. I'm your daddy, I'm not a bad guy."
Magnus angrily said, "You're not my daddy!"
Isaac held him and walked to the mirror, looking at their faces together in the mirror.
"Look, we look so much alike. Anyone can see at a glance that you're my son. How am I not your daddy?"
Magnus clenched his small fists tightly, his eyes turning red, "But you abandoned me. You're irresponsible. You don't deserve to be my daddy!"
Isaac hurriedly explained, "I never intended to abandon you. I just didn't know you existed. If I had known, I would never have let you suffer even a little. I would have brought you to me, pampered you, and protected you."
Isaac spoke sincerely, and Magnus was moved, but there was still deep wariness in his eyes.
Isaac said hoarsely, "When your mommy was pregnant with you, she lied to me, saying she lost you. I believed her and even secretly set up tombstones for you and Soren. For the past three years, I've visited you every year."
"I never intended to abandon you. Even when I mistakenly thought you were gone before you were born, I still set up a tombstones for you as my children."
"Magnus, believe me, I love your mommy very much, and I love you two very much too."
"If you don't believe me, when we go back, I can take you to the tombstones to see. Everything I said is true, not a single lie."
Magnus's psychological defenses instantly collapsed, and he hugged Isaac's neck, crying continuously.
Daddy didn't abandon him. Daddy didn't know he existed, so he didn't take responsibility. Daddy loved him...
Over the past few days, he had seen that Isaac thought he and Soren weren't his children, but he still treated them well.
This proved that everything Isaac said was true, not a lie to deceive him.
But Mommy Nora gave birth to him, she knew he existed, yet she abandoned him, leaving only Magnus and Soren by her side, ignoring him.
Mommy was the bad one...
Magnus's resentment shifted targets instantly.
Isaac patted Magnus's back with heartache and asked softly, "Magnus, tell me the truth, after you left today, did you see Soren?"
Magnus still shook his head, "No, after I left, I was with Mommy and Mortimer the whole time. If you don't believe me, you can ask Mommy."
Isaac's eyes were full of shock and confusion.
He had clearly seen Magnus, so why was Magnus insisting that he hadn't seen Soren after leaving?
Could he have been mistaken?
That was impossible.
Soren had also seen Magnus.
It was because Soren saw Magnus that she let go of his hand and ran to find Magnus, and they were taken away together.
Where exactly did things go wrong?
Magnus asked, "Why does Daddy keep asking me about Soren? Is Soren missing?"
Isaac's eyes showed a hint of panic. He lowered his eyes and changed the subject, "Let me help you wash your hands first. Let's go meet your mommy so she doesn't worry."
Magnus nodded.
Magnus didn't care much about Soren, who grew up carefree, so he didn't ask more questions.
Isaac helped Magnus wash his little hands and dried them with a paper towel.
Magnus reached out to Isaac for the mask, "Daddy, give me the mask. I need to wear it so no one can see my face."
"Daddy, can you promise me not to tell anyone you saw my face? Not even Mommy."
Magnus was a little nervous.
He was worried that Mortimer would find out and get angry.
Even though he knew Isaac didn't abandon him or neglect him on purpose, and he believed Isaac loved him, Mortimer had raised him, and he didn't want to disappoint or hurt Mortimer.
