Chapter 440: Investigating Nora's Whereabouts
Mortimer dodged the punch and immediately stopped Isaac from moving forward.
During their struggle, Nora had already gotten into the car.
With a roar, the car sped away, leaving a trail of dust.
Isaac's face turned livid with anger, his eyes bloodshot, staring intently in the direction the car had left.
Nora actually ignored him and just left!
It wasn't until the car completely disappeared that Isaac withdrew his gaze, looking at Mortimer with a dark expression, "What exactly did you do to Nora? How could she forgive you, an attempted murderer?"
The more Isaac thought about it, the angrier he got.
He was so angry that he almost lost his mind!
How could Nora forgive Mortimer!
Magnus almost died because of Mortimer's schemes!
Did she forget how terrified Magnus looked when he saw Mortimer?
To her, was Mortimer more important than Magnus?
Mortimer lowered his eyes, hiding the unclear emotions in them, "I didn't do anything."
Isaac asked coldly, "If you didn't do anything, how could Nora forgive you?"
Mortimer looked up and met Isaac's questioning eyes, his gaze flickering as if he was feeling guilty.
He was silent for a while before he spoke, "You saw wrong, that person just now wasn't Nora."
Isaac sneered, "Do you think I'm blind? That was Nora just now, her body shape, walking posture, hair color, and length, all exactly like Nora's, and you tell me she wasn't Nora?"
And that half of her face when she turned back, even though she was wearing a mask, he could tell it was Nora!
He had saw them, and Mortimer still wanted to lie!
Mortimer's eyes dodged, not daring to meet his gaze, which made Isaac even more certain that Mortimer was feeling guilty.
Because he was caught lying, Mortimer felt guilty!
"Mortimer, I'm warning you, don't even think about being with Nora. Even if she forgives you, I won't! I won't let her be with you, even if she agrees, I'll stop you!"
Mortimer pressed his lips tightly together, not saying a word.
Isaac said sternly, Have your people bring Nora back now!"
Mortimer refused, "Sorry, Nora left on her own. I won't force her to do anything she doesn't want to do."
"If you want to find her, then find her yourself."
"Even if you force or threaten me, I won't do anything to betray Nora."
After saying that, he left, not wanting to continue arguing with Isaac.
Isaac clenched his fists tightly.
"If you don't hand over Nora, don't blame me for flattening your house!"
Mortimer didn't look back, hailing a taxi and leaving.
Isaac suppressed his anger and called Griffin, asking him to bring a few people and drive over to find him.
Griffin arrived quickly.
A car followed behind, carrying four skilled bodyguards.
Isaac got into the car.
Griffin felt a suffocatingly dangerous pressure filling the cramped car, making his heart race and his whole body tense up. Cold sweat uncontrollably breaking out.
What happened to Isaac? Why was he so furious?
He hadn't seen Isaac this terrifying in a long time.
Griffin swallowed hard, suppressing his fear, and cautiously asked, "Mr. Porter, where are we going?"
Isaac gritted his teeth, "To Mortimer's house!"
"Yes, sir!" Griffin immediately stepped on the gas.
Seeing Isaac so angry, without needing Isaac's order, he directly drove at the fastest speed.
When they arrived at Mortimer's villa, Mortimer had just gotten home in a taxi.
Seeing Isaac, Mortimer smiled, "Isaac, you really came to my house to find Nora? Nora isn't here, you don't need to go in and look."
To Isaac, Mortimer said this on purpose because he was afraid Isaac would find Nora!
Isaac directly pushed Mortimer aside, as if it were his own home, and barged into the villa with a few bodyguards.
Mortimer's bodyguards looked to Mortimer for help, not knowing whether to stop them.
Mortimer shook his head, signaling them to let Isaac in.
After entering the villa, Isaac had his men start searching, not missing any corner.
He went to the basement, a place most people wouldn't think to look.
But after searching, they didn't find any trace of Nora.
"Where did you hide Nora?" Isaac walked up to Mortimer, questioning him sternly.
Mortimer shrugged innocently, "I didn't hide Nora."
"I told you at the hospital, I respect Nora. She can go wherever she wants, I won't interfere or force her."
Isaac threatened, "Contact Alaric and ask him where he took Nora!"
Mortimer shook his head, "I don't interfere with Nora's choices, nor will I betray her."
"If you want to find her, find her yourself. I won't tell you, even if you threaten me."
"Nora chose to leave at that time, which means she doesn't want to see you. I respect her choice."
Isaac's face twisted with anger.
She would see Mortimer, this vile man, but not him?
Isaac gave Mortimer a cold look, then left in a huff.
Having been friends with Mortimer for many years, he knew Mortimer's temperament well.
If Mortimer didn't want to say something, even killing him wouldn't make him reveal the truth. There was no point in wasting time here.
Back in the car, Isaac contacted someone to check the surveillance footage along the way, to track down where the car Nora was in had gone.
No matter how deep he had to dig, he was determined to find her!
He had to ask her face-to-face why she forgave Mortimer.
Thinking back to the scene of Nora and Mortimer at the hospital entrance, he felt a twisted anger.
At that time, Nora and Mortimer were very close, looking like a loving couple!
Otherwise, he thought Nora had forgiven Mortimer without learning the situation.
Investigating the surveillance along the way was tedious and time-consuming.
It took two hours for Isaac to receive the investigation report.
The car carrying Nora indeed didn't go to Mortimer's house but directly left the city, heading towards the suburbs.
There were few surveillance cameras in the suburbs, and only a short stretch of road had cameras. After that, there were no more cameras.
But at this point, no other surveillance was needed; Isaac knew where Nora had gone.
That direction led to the vacation resort!
After being caught meeting Mortimer, Nora had fled in panic, running back to the vacation resort.
Isaac immediately ordered, "To the vacation resort!"
"Yes, sir." Griffin nodded repeatedly, his heart trembling.
He felt the aura around Isaac becoming even more dangerous and terrifying.
