Chapter 180 Could You Stop Being So Violent?

The crowd couldn't help but murmur.

"She didn't resist or scream in the video. How could she be framed?"

"Still trying to argue? Shameless!"

"I heard Kalista's pregnant. Isaac probably wanted to marry her because of the baby. But now, who knows whose kid it is!"

Kalista's eyes showed a hint of guilt.

"Isaac, don't listen to them. The baby is definitely yours."

Despite her guilt, she insisted the baby was Isaac's. As long as Isaac didn't abandon her, people wouldn't dare gossip. Plus, Isaac had been with other women too, so it should be okay for her, right?

Isaac ordered coldly, "Wesley, take Kalista away and send the guests home!"

Kalista shouted, desperate, "Isaac, our engagement isn't over. I can't leave! Even if I was with other men, I'm carrying your child. You can't just walk away!"

Isaac snapped, "Gag her and get her out of here!"

Wesley quickly covered her mouth and dragged her away. The guests were also asked to leave.

Before they left, Isaac had warned them not to let tonight's events leak out.

Whether that warning would be effective remained to be seen.

With so many people around, even if someone spoke up, pinpointing the source would be nearly impossible.

Nora and Mortimer were among the last to leave.

As Nora glanced back at Isaac, she saw him staring intently in their direction.

His expression was gloomy, shrouded in an ominous, dangerous aura.

A shiver ran down Nora's spine.

"What's wrong?" Mortimer noticed her unease.

He followed her gaze and met Isaac's fierce eyes. Mortimer smiled and nodded, staying calm.

"Let's go," Nora said, walking outside.

They stood by the roadside, waiting for Alaric. Just then, Isaac came out, walked up to Mortimer, and punched him hard in the face. Mortimer staggered, his face swelling instantly. Isaac didn't stop, pinning Mortimer to the ground and punching him repeatedly.

"Isaac, stop! Let go of Mortimer!" Nora shouted, rushing to stop him.

Isaac ignored her, continuing to hit Mortimer. Nora wrapped her arms around Isaac's, trying to stop him.

"Isaac, stop being so violent! Can't we talk this out?"

Isaac finally stopped, looking at Nora with dark eyes. "You think I'm violent? So you prefer someone as deceitful as him?"

Nora frowned, but before she could answer, Mortimer pushed Isaac away and sat up. "Don't take it out on Nora. Tonight's mess is all my doing."

Isaac's anger intensified. He shook off Nora's hand and tried to hit Mortimer again, but this time, Mortimer dodged.

"Isaac, know your limits. I spared you tonight; don't push me," Mortimer said, sounding helpless.

But Isaac sensed a threat beneath Mortimer's words. The video released tonight had completely blurred Edmund's face.

Yet, Mortimer still had an unedited version of the footage.

If Isaac continued to cause trouble, Mortimer would release the full, uncensored video.

At that point, it wouldn’t just be Kalista who would face disgrace.

Isaac's hand, which had been raised in a threatening gesture, suddenly froze mid-air. His eyes, now glowing with a fierce red, locked onto Mortimer.

In the end, his fist fell silently to his side.

He couldn't afford to gamble with Edmund's reputation.

"You keep doing bad deeds; you'll get what's coming to you," Isaac said coldly and left.

Nora stared at Isaac's retreating figure, a pang of guilt tugging at her heart.

The video that Mortimer had released tonight was all because of her.

Though she hadn't directly orchestrated it, she was the catalyst.

In the end, she had ruined Isaac's engagement ceremony and shattered the relationship between him and Kalista.

She turned her gaze toward Mortimer, her eyes a mix of emotions.

"You’re wondering how I got my hands on that video, aren't you?" Mortimer said, as if reading her thoughts. A smile played on his lips.

Nora nodded.

Mortimer smiled, "I took it, after Kalista hurt you last time."

Nora was surprised. She thought Mortimer had someone take the video just before the wedding.

"Is the baby in Kalista's belly Isaac's?" Nora asked.

Mortimer shook his head. "I don't know if Isaac has been with her; only they know for sure."

Nora lowered her eyes.

"Do you think Isaac hasn't been with Kalista?" Mortimer asked.

Nora nodded, "He told me he never touched Kalista."

"Do you think that's possible?" Mortimer said. "They've been together for years, Isaac often spent the night at her place, and they're both adults. Could they not have done anything?"

Nora fell silent.

Mortimer sighed, "I'm not trying to slander Isaac; I just hope you stay clear-headed and don't get hurt repeatedly."

Nora said, "I know, thanks for the reminder."

Mortimer shook his head and said nothing more. Alaric arrived, and Nora and Mortimer got in. The car drove away slowly.

In the hotel, Isaac glanced back and saw Nora and Mortimer leaving together. His expression darkened even further.

He thought, 'Mortimer has initially pressured him into the engagement with Kalista, so why is he now choosing to release that video and sabotage it?

'What exactly is Mortimer up to?'

"Isaac, something's wrong. I just got a call from the Parker mansion; there's trouble. You need to go back right away!" Wesley ran over, urgently reporting.

Isaac's face darkened. "What happened?"

Wesley shook his head. "Not sure. They said Katie saw something and flew into a rage."

Isaac's eyes darkened, and he quickly left.
