Chapter 332 Everyone likes Mortimer, and so does she.

Isaac said, "Consider it as compensation for last night, give it to me."

Nora's eyes widened, "What did you say? Compensation for last night? Yours?"

Isaac raised an eyebrow, "Is there a problem?"

Nora's expression was unpredictable.

Last night, it was clearly Isaac who started it without any regard, and he was like a runaway horse, unable to stop. How could he have the nerve to ask for compensation?

"Thanks for the gift, honey. I'll go put the painting away first, and then we can go downstairs for dinner."

Isaac took advantage of Nora's distraction and planted a kiss on her lips.

Then, before Nora could change her mind, he quickly took the painting and left the studio.

Nora was speechless.

Isaac took the painting to the study and put it in the safe to prevent Nora from finding and destroying it.

When he walked out of the study, Nora had also left the studio.

Isaac walked over and held her hand, leading her downstairs.

Nora tried to pull her hand back, but he held it tightly. After struggling for a while, she gave up.

After all, it was just holding hands.

When they got downstairs, the two kids had already come home and were playing and chasing each other in the living room.

Seeing them come downstairs, Soren ran over to her with a big smile.

"Mommy, I missed you so much!"

Nora tried to pull her hand back, and Isaac finally let go.

She squatted down and hugged Soren.

She originally wanted to pick her up.

But as soon as she exerted force, a wave of soreness surged through her waist, and she couldn't stand up.

Nora could only squat and hug Soren, "I missed you too. Did you have fun with Magnus today?"

Soren nodded with a big smile, "Yes, Mortimer took Magnus and me to the beach, and he even taught us how to swim!"

Magnus also ran over, his face full of excitement, "Mommy, I want to go find Mortimer again tomorrow!"

Soren also said, "I want to go with Magnus!"

Nora could clearly feel the change in Isaac's demeanor.

His hostility towards Mortimer was so strong that just hearing Mortimer's name made him emit a cold aura.

Nora patted the heads of the two kids and said, "Mortimer has to work. You can't go find him every day, or he won't be able to work."

"If you like Mortimer, you shouldn't interfere with his work."

"Tomorrow, you can't go find Mortimer. You have to go to school. If you don't go to school, you won't understand what the teachers are saying in class in the future."

The two little ones showed unhappy expressions.

Nora said, "When the weekend comes, if Mortimer isn't busy, I'll take you to see him, okay?"

The two little ones' expressions improved a bit, and Magnus reluctantly nodded.

Isaac's frustration persisted from dinner all the way until they returned to their room.

As soon as they got to the room, he hugged Nora and asked in a muffled voice, "No matter how well I treat them, will I never be able to compete with that blood relationship?"

"What?" Nora didn't know what he was talking about for a moment and was a bit dazed.

Isaac gritted his teeth and said, "I mean Magnus and Soren. No matter how well I treat them, will they always prefer Mortimer because of the blood relationship?"

Nora's eyes darkened, and her feelings were complicated.

He was wrong.

The one with a blood relationship with Magnus and Soren was him, not Mortimer.

They were closer to Mortimer not because of the blood relationship.

But she couldn't say these truths out loud.

Nora sighed and said, "They've been living with Mortimer since they were born, and you've only been with them for a short time. Plus, you go to work every day and only have brief interactions with them after work."

"Naturally, they have a deeper impression of Mortimer."

Isaac was still sullen.

He seemed to believe that Magnus and Soren liked Mortimer because of the blood relationship.

He didn't mind that they weren't his biological children and was willing to accept them as his own, but they didn't like him, which made Isaac feel frustrated and defeated.

Nora gently patted his back, "Alright, don't be upset. I can tell you clearly, this has nothing to do with blood relations; children simply tend to prefer people they are familiar with.."

Isaac said, "I still feel bad. Comfort me."

Nora's mouth twitched.

Who asks for comfort like that?

But seeing Isaac's looking so downcast, she couldn't help but feel a bit sympathetic.

After a moment of silence, she softly comforted, "Baby, don't be sad. You have so many people who like you. Do you really care about one or two more?"

Besides, she thought Magnus and Soren actually liked him. When they went out together with the kids, they had a great time.

It was just that Mortimer had been with them for three years, and she couldn't compare to Mortimer, let alone Isaac.

"Who likes me? Who are these people?" Isaac asked sullenly.

Nora said, "Many people, your grandparents, Rhys, Wesley, and..."

Isaac interrupted her, "What about you?"

Nora's heart skipped a beat.

Although she had said many times last night that she liked Isaac.

But Isaac was drunk then, and he wouldn't remember when he woke up, so she dared to say it boldly.

Now that Isaac was sober, and she found it hard to say it out loud.

"Don't you like me either?" Isaac smiled bitterly, "I knew it. You don't like me. You're still mad at me. No matter what I do, I can't compare to Mortimer."

"In the kids' hearts, I can't compare to Mortimer. In your heart, I can't compare to Mortimer either."

"No." Nora quickly denied.

Isaac said in a deep voice, "I know Mortimer is excellent, and more people like him than me."

"Back in school, even though they said I was more handsome than Mortimer and my family background was better, more people liked Mortimer."

"In four years of college, Mortimer received enough love letters to fill a whole room, but I didn't get a single one. Even you, I had to pursue you actively. You never wrote me a love letter."

"Everyone likes him. It's normal for you to like him too."

Nora's mouth twitched.

She wanted to remind him that no one sent him love letters because the first girl who had the courage to give him a love letter stood shyly in front of him, confessed, and handed him the letter, only to be told to get lost by Isaac, who even complained that her perfume was so strong it made his eyes water.

After that, Isaac's cousin even took people to warn that girl, and not long after, the girl took a leave of absence and never returned to school.

Since then, no girl dared to approach Isaac.

Even though Isaac was the top of the school heartthrob list every year, no girl dared to pursue him or write him a love letter.

Mortimer had told Nora all this before.
