Chapter 375 Nora Disdained Him
Not knowing how long she had been lying there, Magnus and Soren had already changed into their pajamas and climbed into bed.
Nora glanced at the time and saw that it was already ten o'clock.
She had been lying there for so long without realizing the passage of time.
Soren lay in her arms, looking at her with concern.
Nora didn't want Soren to worry, so she forced a smile and shook her head, "Mommy's fine, don't worry."
Soren still couldn't hear, but seeing her smile, her frown relaxed.
She sweetly kissed Nora on the cheek, as if silently comforting her.
Nora's heart instantly softened.
She still had her children.
Her children would always love her and never betray her.
Nora hugged Magnus and Soren, gently patting their backs.
Just then, her phone rang.
She glanced at it and saw it was a video call from Isaac.
Nora looked at the phone coldly and didn't answer.
In the end, it was Magnus who picked up the phone and answered the video call.
"Daddy!" Magnus called out happily.
Isaac chuckled, "Did you miss me?"
Magnus nodded vigorously, "Yes, Daddy, when are you coming to see us?"
Since sending them here, Isaac had been video calling every day but hadn't visited in person.
Isaac said, "Maybe in a while, I've been quite busy these days."
Magnus looked a bit disappointed.
Isaac asked, "Where's your mommy? Give her the phone, I want to see her."
Magnus pouted, feeling a bit jealous.
He had only said a few words to Daddy, and Daddy wanted to see Mommy instead of him. Daddy didn't love him as much as Mommy.
Magnus handed the phone to Nora.
Nora took the phone and looked calmly at Isaac in the video.
Isaac's face showed a doting smile, his deep voice magnetic and gentle, "Honey, you've worked hard. I'll come see you and the kids in a few days."
Nora said indifferently, "I don't think taking care of my own children is a burden. If you're busy, you don't need to come. Just have Rhys come to check on Soren's injury."
Isaac's heart skipped a beat, sensing something was wrong with Nora.
"Honey, are you mad because I hung up on you?"
"I was wrong, I apologize. Don't be mad, it's not good for your health."
"When I see you, you can hit me if you want, just don't sulk."
Mentioning the incident made Nora feel even worse.
But her expression didn't change much, still calm and indifferent.
"I'm not mad, don't overthink it."
Isaac asked, "Did you need something when you called me today?"
Nora casually found an excuse, "I wanted to ask when Rhys would come to check on Soren's ear."
Isaac said, "It might take a few more days. Rhys is out of town for a consultation and won't be back in Aridonia for a while."
Nora nodded, "Okay, I understand. Contact me when he's available. I'm a bit tired today and want to rest early. Goodbye."
Without waiting for Isaac to speak, she hung up the video call.
She put down the phone, hugged Magnus and Soren again, and coaxed them to sleep.
After the children fell asleep, she stayed awake all night.
Nora's mind was blank, thinking of nothing, but she just couldn't sleep.
In the following days, Isaac continued to video call Nora every night.
Nora answered as usual, chatting with Isaac like before, but her smile was less frequent, treating him like a friend.
Isaac, worried about Magnus, didn't notice Nora's abnormality at first.
This situation lasted for a week before he finally realized that Nora seemed to be deliberately distancing herself from him.
So the next day, he called Rhys back and took him to the vacation villa to have Rhys check on Soren's ear and to see Nora.
Magnus's condition had stabilized, so Rhys could leave temporarily and didn't need to stay at the Hansen Mansion all the time.
Before going, Isaac bought some snacks that Nora liked to bring to her.
As for the children's snacks, he didn't buy any because it's not good for kids to eat too many snacks.
When they arrived at the villa, Magnus was in class.
Soren, unable to hear, couldn't attend class normally and was separated from Magnus.
Nora had found a sign language teacher to teach Soren some sign language.
Nora was also learning alongside.
"Honey, I'm here to see you."
Isaac walked up and hugged Nora from behind, pulling her tightly into his arms.
Smelling her faint fragrance, his heart felt much more at ease.
Nora's body instantly stiffened.
Then, she pried Isaac's hands off and turned to look at him.
Isaac tried to hug her again, but Nora took two steps back, putting some distance between them.
Isaac's expression froze, looking at Nora in shock.
Why was she avoiding him?
Why was her attitude so distant?
"Honey," he said softly, his voice tinged with bitterness and grievance, like he was pouting.
Nora lowered her eyes, not looking at his pitiful expression.
"Did you bring Rhys? Let him check on Soren's injury first." Nora changed the subject directly.
Isaac wanted to say something to her.
But just then, he felt someone tugging at his clothes.
Looking down, he saw Soren running over, her small hand grabbing his clothes, her head tilted up, her cute face showing a sweet smile, looking at him excitedly.
Seeing this adorable face, the gloom in Isaac's heart instantly vanished.
He immediately squatted down, picked Soren up, and rubbed his face against hers.
"Soren, Daddy's here to see you. Did you miss Daddy?"
Soren couldn't hear, but she sweetly kissed his cheek in return.
That kiss melted his heart.
Isaac looked up at Nora and said, "I'll let Rhys check on Soren first, and we can talk later."
Nora nodded in agreement.
Rhys had been following behind Isaac. When Isaac hugged Nora earlier, he had turned around, pretending to look at the scenery.
Isaac looked at him and said, "Rhys, take Soren for a check-up and see how she's recovering."
"Okay, I'll take her now. You two don't need to follow me, you can continue being intimate— I mean, catching up." Rhys coughed lightly, a teasing smile on his face.
Isaac shot him a cold look, and he immediately stopped joking.
Before bringing Soren here, Isaac had built a small hospital in the villa with the necessary medical equipment, making it convenient for check-ups without leaving the villa.
Nora and Isaac followed Rhys to the examination room, anxiously waiting for the results.
Isaac held Nora's hand, gently comforting her, "Don't worry too much. Rhys said before that there's a good chance Soren's injury can be healed. Even if it can't be completely healed, she can recover partially."
Nora quickly pulled her hand back and wiped the spot he had touched on her clothes.
Isaac's body stiffened, his heart aching.
