Chapter 111 Recheck

Nora exclaimed angrily, "Isaac, can't you be more reasonable?"

Nora reminded, "We agreed before, as long as it's confirmed that this child is not yours, you will set me free without any other conditions!"

Isaac replied, "I'm adding a condition now, complete the condition before you leave!"

"You are being unreasonable!" Nora cursed at him, but she had no way out.

Physical strength?

She couldn't match Isaac.

Call the police?

No chance to call the police at all.

"You don't need to be reasonable!" Isaac said and pushed the limits of being unreasonable.

Nora bit her lip, trying to free herself from his grasp by twisting her wrist forcefully.

But no matter how hard she tried, it was futile.

Instead, it angered Isaac, and he gripped tighter.

Nora broke out in a cold sweat, her face pale and bloodless.

"Speak up, whose child, is it?!" Isaac demanded sternly.

Nora angrily replied, "I already said, it's my boyfriend's!"

Isaac sternly retorted, "Are you still lying? This illegitimate child cannot be his!"

Nora retorted, "Why do you say it's impossible? I say it is!"

The tension around Isaac grew more dangerous.

The entire office was filled with a suffocating sense of danger.

Even Edmund and Katie felt a stifling atmosphere.

Edmund twitched his mouth and spoke, "Isaac, what are you doing? Release Nora now!"

He demanded Isaac, "Since it's been proven that the child in Nora's belly is not yours, her personal matters are none of your concern anymore. Let her go!"

Isaac remained indifferent.

Kalista interjected, "Isaac, if the child in Nora's belly isn't her boyfriend's, then perhaps it's Mortimer's."

She added, "After all, after your divorce, Nora and Mortimer have been in contact, engaging in some shady activities behind the scenes, it wouldn't be surprising!"

"Shut up, it's not your turn to answer!" Isaac snapped.

Kalista trembled in fear, quickly covering her mouth, afraid to speak another word.

Just then, a voice came from the door, saying, "Are Isaac and Edmund in there? I think I heard their voices."

Jay responded, "Yes, Mortimer, why are you here? Are you here to see me on purpose?"

Mortimer replied, "I came to get some medicine. The doctor told me you were in the office, so I came straight over."

Both of them pretended they hadn't met before.

Mortimer casually made up an excuse that sounded reasonable.

Previously, he had kidnapped Isaac and intentionally stabbed himself with a knife to force Katie to reveal Nora's whereabouts, but the blade actually pierced his own hand.

Now, saying he came to the hospital for medicine also sounded reasonable.

"Mortimer, you're injured? Let me check your wound first and then prepare the medicine for you," Jay said and cooperated.

"Just prepare some regular external wound medicine for me. Since Isaac and Edmund are inside, I'll greet them first," Mortimer said and pushed open the office door directly.

All eyes in the office turned towards him.

Mortimer glanced around at everyone, his gaze finally falling on Isaac gripping Nora's wrist.

The flesh on Nora's wrist was deeply indented where he held it, turning white.

Her slender wrist seemed like it could break at any moment.

"What's going on? Isaac, why are you grabbing Nora's hand like that?" Mortimer approached them as he spoke.

"Speak properly, release Nora first. Look, Nora's hand is turning purple. If you continue like this, you'll cripple her hand," Mortimer pointed out. He stopped in front of them and carefully pried Isaac's hand open, one finger at a time.

Nora's hand was finally free.

But the places he had grabbed still burned with pain.

A purplish bruise marked her wrist.

Isaac glared darkly at Mortimer, a hint of murderous intent flickering in his eyes.

The child Nora carried wasn't his.

There was only one possibility left.

That child belonged to Mortimer!

Rage continued to erode Isaac's sanity.

He raised his hand abruptly and struck at Mortimer.

But this time, Mortimer didn't just take the beating like before.

He caught Isaac's fist as it came towards him.

Mortimer remarked, "If you're in a bad mood, Isaac, I can let you hit me, let you vent. But before you act, can you tell me what's bothering you? Why bully Nora?"

Isaac coldly replied, "You're the most hypocritical and disgusting person here!"

"Isaac, watch your words, don't be so immature!" Edmund reprimanded sternly.

Recently, Mortimer's grandfather had informed him that people from Mortimer's paternal side had come over.

If Isaac continued to be so rude to Mortimer, it might attract danger.

Isaac retorted, "I warned him, told him not to show up in front of me. If he does, I'll hit him every time I see him. It's his own fault for seeking trouble!"

"You are..." Edmund was so angry that he couldn't find the words to respond.

At this moment, Katie spoke up, "Mortimer, is the child in Nora's belly yours? If the child is yours, take Nora back and keep an eye on her. Don't let her keep coming out to tempt Isaac!"

"It's not Mortimer's!" Nora immediately denied it.

She didn't want to drag Mortimer down or tarnish his reputation.

Mortimer pretended to be surprised and asked, "Didn't Isaac keep saying the child is his?"

Katie snorted, "Don't come here to slander Isaac. Just now, Isaac already had the DNA of her child tested, and it proved that the child isn't Isaac's!"

Mortimer lowered his gaze, pondered for a moment, and said, "No matter how I answer, everyone will probably remain suspicious. Let's do this, let's have a DNA test for me and Nora's child, let the facts speak for themselves.

"The samples taken before should still be available, no need to take new samples, to avoid harming the child in Nora's belly."

Mortimer added, "Nora, what do you think?"

Nora frowned and said, "There's no need for us to test. This child is not yours."

They all knew that the child couldn't possibly be Mortimer's.

She and Mortimer had never engaged in any intimate activities, even if the sun rose from the west, the child couldn't be Mortimer's.

What was the point of this test?

"But someone doesn't believe it," Mortimer said.

Nora paused.

Yes, if they didn't test it, and prove with evidence that she and Mortimer were innocent, Isaac would continue to suspect Mortimer.

Perhaps he would hate Mortimer even more in the future and cause trouble for him.

For the sake of Mortimer's reputation, let's just go ahead and do the test with him!

"All right, let's do the test, let's prove our innocence!" Mortimer smiled.

When Jay returned, Mortimer instructed him to proceed with another DNA test.

As Jay left with the hair sample, Mortimer subtly signaled Alaric, who was standing outside the door.

Alaric had been by Mortimer's side for many years, understanding him very well. A single glance conveyed what he meant.

Alaric quietly followed Jay.

When there was no one around, he stopped Jay and threatened, "If you cooperate with my young master on one thing, your wife and children will be safe."

Jay was furious but had no right to refuse, and asked, "What do you want me to cooperate with?"

Alaric said, "Mrs. Foster's child in her belly belongs to my young master."
