Chapter 443: She is Really Impressive
"Yeah, is there a problem?" the chef asked while eating pizza.
He didn't forget to pass the plate over, "Do you want some too?"
Griffin glanced at the oddly shaped pizza and waved his hand repeatedly, "I've already had dinner, no thanks, you guys enjoy."
Then, he got back to the main topic and continued to ask, "When did Mrs. Porter bring Miss Soren Foster to the kitchen this morning? How long did they stay?"
The chef replied, "They came around ten in the morning and left at twelve-thirty."
Griffin thoughtfully pinched his chin and then left the kitchen.
The chefs chatted while eating pizza, "What's up with Griffin? He came all the way to the kitchen just to ask a few questions and then left?"
The chef next to him shook his head, "Who knows, don't worry about him, let's eat quickly and not waste all this pizza."
Another chef said with a bitter face, "I never thought Mrs. Porter's cooking would turn out this bad. Even Miss Soren Foster's first tru was better."
"She followed my instructions to the letter, taking every step just as I taught her. So why does it taste so off? Where did it all go wrong?"
The person next to him laughed, "Some people are probably just not cut out for cooking."
Griffin ran back to Isaac's yard.
"Mr. Porter!"
His voice arrived before he did.
Isaac looked at Griffin with displeasure, "Why are you making such a fuss?"
Griffin stopped in front of Isaac, took a few deep breaths, and hurriedly asked, "Mr. Porter, what time did you see Mrs. Porter at the hospital in the city this morning?"
Isaac's face darkened, and he looked at Griffin coldly.
Griffin tensed up in fear and quickly explained, "Mr. Porter, please don't be angry. I'm not trying to interfere in your matters with Mrs. Porter. I just think there might be some misunderstanding between you and Mrs. Porter."
"Maybe the person you saw in the city wasn't Mrs. Porter?"
Isaac sneered, "Are you questioning my eyesight?"
Griffin quickly shook his head, "No, Mr. Porter, your eyesight has always been excellent. I wouldn't dare question you."
"But I just went to the kitchen and found out that from ten to twelve-thirty this morning, Mrs. Porter was in the kitchen with Miss Soren Foster making pizza."
"I'm just curious, what time did you see Mrs. Porter in the city? If it was during that window, then it's very likely you saw someone who just looked like her."
Griffin thought that even if it wasn't during that time, it was still pretty unlikely that Isaac actually saw Nora.
Although Nora and Soren only stayed in the kitchen for two and a half hours, they couldn't teleport there instantly; it would take at least half an hour before and after.
And the drive from here to the city takes three hours.
Time-wise, it was impossible.
"Mr. Porter, you can ask the captain here if Mrs. Porter left the estate today, and you'll have your answer," Griffin suggested.
Isaac frowned.
Nora was in the kitchen from ten to twelve-thirty this morning?
He saw Nora with Mortimer around noon.
These two times completely overlapped.
If Griffin wasn't lying, unless Nora could clone herself, she couldn't be in the kitchen and at the hospital in the city at the same time.
Isaac told Griffin, "Go get the person."
Griffin nodded respectfully, "Yes, I'll get him right away!"
About ten minutes later, the head of security came to Isaac, "Mr. Porter, you wanted to see me?"
Isaac asked in a deep voice, "Tell me, did Nora leave the estate yesterday or today?"
The head of security replied, "No, Mrs. Porter has only left the estate once since she arrived, and she hasn't left at all yesterday or today."
The one time Nora left was because of an incident with Sophia.
Other than that, Nora hadn't left the estate.
Isaac squinted his eyes and coldly scrutinized the head of security, "Are you telling the truth?"
The head of security felt a chill down his spine under Isaac's piercing gaze. His entire body tensed, and the weight of the moment made him break out in a cold sweat. Still, he forced himself to say, "I wouldn't dare hide anything from you, Mr. Porter. I'm telling the truth!"
Isaac stared at him for a while, then waved him off, "You can go."
"Yes!" The head of security felt relieved and quickly left the scene.
Isaac's presence was too intimidating; it was hard to even breathe in front of him, and he just wanted to get away as soon as possible.
Isaac lowered his eyes, deep in thought.
Could he really have been mistaken?
But he knew Nora so well, how could he mistake her?
Mortimer was so obsessed with Nora; if it wasn't Nora, how could Mortimer be with other woman?
Mortimer's obsession with Nora was almost pathological.
Other than Nora, he hadn't seen any woman get close to Mortimer.
He had female servants at home, but Mortimer's house was all male.
Isaac pondered for a moment, then called Wesley, who was in the city.
"Send someone to keep an eye on Mortimer, especially to see if there's a woman with him."
Wesley didn't understand but agreed readily, "Yes, I'll send someone right away!"
Isaac hung up the phone.
He hesitated for a moment, then went to the hospital to see Magnus.
After seeing Magnus, he went to find Soren.
At that time, Nora was having dinner with Sophia and wasn't with Soren.
Isaac squatted down and looked seriously into Soren's eyes, asking softly, "Soren, tell Daddy, were you with Mommy all day today?"
Soren replied, "Not all day."
"Mommy came to find me after breakfast, stayed with me until lunch, then went to see Magnus. After my nap, Mommy came to find me again."
"And then in the evening, Mommy went to have dinner with Sophia."
"Mommy said after she finishes with Sophia, she'll come to sleep with me."
Isaac's mouth twitched.
Nora was really something.
She spent each meal with a different person.
Isaac asked again, "Did you and Mommy make pizza today?"
Soren nodded, her eyes bright, "Yes, we made it for a long time, but Mommy wouldn't let me eat it."
Isaac lowered his eyes.
It seemed the kitchen staff wasn't lying; Nora was indeed in the kitchen around noon and didn't leave.
Isaac stayed with Soren in her yard.
Around eight o'clock, Nora returned from Sophia's place.
Seeing Isaac with Soren, Nora's face instantly darkened.
But seeing Soren's happy face, she didn't get angry in front of her, just gave Isaac a cold look.
"What are you doing here again?"
