Chapter 199 She Was Dying

Rick finally looked away, but his expression remained grave.

"Can you tell me your birth time?" Rick asked seriously.

Nora was puzzled, "Aren't you supposed to pray? Why do you need my birth time?"

Isaac also frowned, becoming impatient.

Rick stroked his graying beard and said heavily, "There's nothing wrong with this house, no evil spirits. But you..."

Nora tilted her head, even more confused. "What's wrong with me?" she questioned.

Rick shook his head in dismay. He reluctantly said, "Well, I can see from your face that you're facing a disaster, and it doesn't look good. You might not get through it!"

Nora's heart skipped a beat, and she suddenly felt panicked.

She mused, 'No way? Could Rick really have such skills? Did he sense that I am dying?'

Nora didn't want to be exposed, especially not in front of Isaac, so she deliberately gave a wrong birth time.

Accurate divination requires precise birth date and time; the more precise, the more accurate the results.

Rick calculated for a while and knew Nora was hiding something from him.

This birth time didn't match what her face revealed.

Rick shook his head and thought, 'Forget it, since she didn't want to know, I wouldn't force it.'

For pastors, they believed in going with the flow.

However, Rick still took out a necklace and handed it to Nora. He advised, "This is for you. Wear it ; it might save your life at a critical moment."

Rick added, "But I can't guarantee it. It all depends on you."

Nora accepted the necklace. She calmly said, "Thank you, Rick. How much is it? I'll pay you."

Rick shook his head in refusal. Then he said, "No charge."

Rick picked up his things and turned to leave.

Isaac hesitated for a moment and followed Rick.

He had originally planned to find an excuse to stay at Nora's house overnight, but Rick's words made him uneasy. He decided to leave with Rick and ask him more.

Downstairs, Isaac couldn't help but ask, "Rick, you said that Nora is facing a disaster. What kind of disaster is it?"

Rick shook his head, feeling troubled. He revealed, "I can only see the big picture, not the details. But it's very dangerous. There's a high chance she won't get through it. But I also saw a glimmer of hope. Maybe she'll seize that chance and make it through."

Isaac's heart sank to the bottom.

'A high chance she won't get through. What kind of disaster is this dangerous?' he wondered.

"Can you calculate the exact time?" Isaac asked in a deep voice.

He didn't believe in fate. He was with Nora every day, personally protecting her. Even if there was a disaster, he would help her get through it!

Rick said, "Judging by her face, it should be soon, within half a month."

Rick sighed, "Everything is fate. Everyone has their own destiny. You shouldn't interfere too much. It can't be changed no matter what you do."

Isaac pressed his lips tightly in frustration, exuding a cold aura.

Isaac thought, 'I don't believe in fate!'

"Even if fate exists, I believe people can change it!" Isaac said sternly.

Rick said, "That's a saying, but those who can truly change fate are very few."

Rick sighed, hailed a cab, and left.

Isaac stood alone downstairs, looking up.

After standing quietly for a while, he finally reluctantly looked away.

He took out his phone and called Harold, "Come out and drink with me!"

Without giving Harold a chance to refuse, he hung up and drove to the bar.

In the bar,Harold looked speechlessly at Isaac, who was drinking alone.

"Every time you call me out, you just drink by yourself and ignore me. Why do you even call me out?" Harold whined.

Every time Isaac called him out, he just ignored him. No matter what he said, Isaac wouldn't listen. But despite treating Harold like this, Isaac always called him out when he went drinking.

Harold didn't get why Isaac was always calling him out.

t was the same whether he was there or not.

This time, Isaac still ignored him.He sat there drinking by himself, getting annoyed.

Until he became a bit tipsy, he finally talked to Harold,"Today, I took a priest to Nora's house."

"Huh?" Harold looked puzzled. Then he asked, "Since when do you believe in that stuff? Why did you take a priest to Nora's house? Do you think she doesn't love you because she's possessed and needs a prayer?"

Isaac's eyes suddenly turned cold, and he looked at him annoyed.

Harold chuckled awkwardly and said, "Just kidding, go on."

Isaac snorted coldly and continued, "That person said Nora is about to encounter a huge risk, and there's a high chance she won't get through it."

"What happens if she doesn't get through it?" Harold asked.

Isaac's voice deepened, "She'll die."

Harold fell silent.

After a few seconds, he looked at Isaac with awkward expression. "You don't believe it, do you?" he asked, concerned.

Isaac remained silent.

Harold's expression became more awkward.  He claimed, "It's all a scam. How can you believe that stuff?

"That priest is lying. They make up stories to trick you into buying expensive talismans to ward off evil.

"Just forget it, don't take them seriously. Nora is a lucky person; she won't face any disasters!"

Isaac said, "He didn't ask for money, and he even gave Nora a necklace for free. Judging by the material, it's worth at least tens of thousands."

Harold looked surprised. "Not a scammer?" he said, a hint of disbelief in his tone.

Isaac said irritably, "I've met that priest before. Our company invited him for a project opening. My grandfather also knows him. Your grandfather should know him too. It's that Rick."

Harold's expression finally turned serious."So, Nora is really in danger?" he remarked, gravely.

Isaac remained silent.

Harold asked again, "Did he give any suggestions on how to resolve it?"

Isaac said, "If he did, would I be this frustrated?"

Harold was silent for a moment, then patted Isaac's shoulder, comforting him. He advised, "Since there's no way to resolve it, just go with the flow. Have more people protect her during this time to keep her safe.

"Spend more time with her. Even if something happens, you won't have so many regrets."

Isaac said self-deprecatingly, "Nora hates me now. She won't let me get close to her. Even if I want to be with her, I can't."
